Easiest transaction ever, GREAT CUSTOMER Service

by memboston on 09/01/2015

My wife and I had a lease for a 2013 VW passat. We had a great experience the first time and our VW was great we went right back to Boston VW to re-lease another car. This was the simplest process I have ever had buying a car. We got their, Bill found our car let us take it for a drive and within minutes of our return and telling him where we needed to be, and what we could put down, he came back with a price less than what we asked with less money down to get it than we offered. Great honest dealership. After that Chris the manager helped us and mailed down all the details, payments terms etc. we signed and were done. Total process was so quick and easy, we came back 2 days later and picked up the car. We dealt with Al in finance who great then Mike delivered us the car and spent a lot of time with us explaining every detail of the card and set up our phones via bluetooth etc. This was such a good experience buying a car it is now 7 days later and I went back to buy a VW from them and traded in my Kia because the tiguan we got for my wife is awesome. the standard base model has leather, heated seat, push button start, back up camera, touch screen radio and more. check out the car and go to Boston VW, we now bought 3 cars there and they make car buying easy. They do great work from start to delivery. Thanks to Bill and Mike in sales and Chris the sales manager and Al in finance.

Good sales experience

by eastMAdriver on 01/13/2013

I went though Edmunds.com to get an online quote. Boston VW replied with a quote within a few hours whereas other local VW dealers sent email containing nothing more than a request to come in and talk. The quote was within the range that Edmunds indicated was the local sales average for the Jetta Sportswagen. I checked the dealer inventory and found what I wanted, then visited for a test drive. I then concluded negotiations in less than 1 hours for a price that was below the invoice and a few hundred below the local average. The sales people were easy to deal with though it appeared that they were quite busy with inquiries. I've bought 9 cars in my life and this was the easiest by far. I think if you pursue an on-line quote through Edmunds or a similar site and they reply near-below the local sales average they must be hungry for the sale because they should know what info you are armed with. Now we'll see how they perform for servicing this car.

Good experience

by slug75 on 09/29/2011

The salesman, Stavros, was honest and fair. He kept his promise and got me the exact car I wanted. I would not say it was inexpensive, but what I wanted was hard to find, so I got a fair price. I got a fair price for my trade-in also. The phone communication was very good and best of all, there was no sleeziness.

Worst service ever

by eric93 on 03/13/2011

I had the worst experience ever with this dealership. I arrived there after making an online appointment with Hamil. He never showed up. After waiting for about 30 mins, Gavin went out of his way to help us. I test drove the car, gave a deposit and Gavin told me that the car should be at the dealership 2 weeks later. At the time I was supposed to sign the papers, Chris, who is in charge of financing, showed up 40 min late, with a soda in his hands. He obviously took a break while I was waiting and barely apologized. Also, he was so deeply concentrated that he even yawned... According to his whiteboard I was his only appointment of the day... He must have been very busy. He then requested the VIN number for the car I was trading, which Gavin did not ask me to bring. Also, when asking Gavin when the car was supposed to arrive, it suddenly was delayed for 2 weeks, while 10 minutes earlier, I was confirmed on the date we agreed on. Since other paper were missing, I should have gone back for an extra trip to Watertown. However, I considered that I had enough. I emailed Gavin and his manager about my concerns, but none of them took some time to answer. I am now waiting for my $500 deposit. Once again, Boston VW does not know what respect for customers means. Any other VW dealer will give a better service. At least, VW Gallery in Norwood does.

In spite of all the bad reviews on other sites, my experience was good

by redsoxy on 12/11/2010

5+ stars for Rick Dolliver. He gave me a great deal, without all the bullshit that you usually have to go through when buying a car. I almost did not come here based on the horrendous previous reviews. The only reason I stepped foot on this lot was I knew that they had the exact car I was interested in. I had absolutely no intention of buying my 2011 Jetta here. I walked on the lot at the same time Rick Dolliver was coming in, and he asked if he could help. With my dukes up I said 'ok'. After talking with him for a while, and going on a test drive I realized he was actually LISTENING to me. He did not try to upsell me or pull and of the shenanigans that usually go hand in hand with car shopping, It was all very easy. All of that being said, I doubt I will be using this location for my service. Most of the negative reviews pertain to their service department and I have no desire to deal with that mess. A word to the wise- Quirk is no better. My suggestion to Boston VW is that you seriously need to clean up your craptacular reputation with your service group. With time, and effort you might be able to repair it but you need to get some happy customers who don't feel cheated and condescended to, and that will be a positive reference for you. Again, I am leery of the service department, but would recommend Rick Dolliver to anyone who is looking for a respectful, knowledgeable sales rep.

take extreme caution

by harbilly on 12/08/2007

i have been there twice with salesman Michael, who's sitting to the right of entrance. first time, he treated us as math idiot, offered us a 3-year lease offer of $489 per month for a $22K MSRP jetta. Michael said it was the best offer he can offer. everyone in the earth know we can lease a fair-loaded BMW 3 at $489 per month. with the hope of finding a fair price, which proofed to be a huge mistake later, we went there the second time. in order to "remind" him we are not idiot, we showed him the lease calculator on edmunds. he was immediately furious and mad, starting dirty mouth, pointing his figure to us. i should have video taped his funny behavior
