New Jeep Purchase

by Pi_Rate on 12/22/2014

Wonderful experience; this was the 3rd vehicle purchased from this dealership. The salesman showed us all options available to assure we got the exact vehicle we were looking for. Would buy another vehicle from them without hesitation. Post purchase he was very responsive with all inquiries and questions.

Best Experience Ever

by Very__Happy on 06/18/2014

I very much enjoyed getting a professional quote from John T (JT). Then after making the appointment he spent the time to make sure all my personal needs were met. He was not pushy and wanted to make sure I was happy with everything. I really felt that he cared and took the time to make sure I felt that way. He even offered to custom order a vehicle but, I choose to get the car from another dealer and buy from it him. I would recommend this salesperson as he is honest, local and concerned about his customers/friends.

Worst Car salesperson I have seen in 40 years of buying cars.

by torched on 04/21/2014

Salesman named Steve (not sure of his last name) but believe he is the only Steve. Treated me like I was a i6 old kid that had never bought a car before, Someone should school Steve on all of the different ways a consumer can find out price and discount information on a dealers cost just by going on an internet site like edmunds, kbb or even consumer reports. Steve talked to me like I was stupid and that had no idea what I knew that particular was worth and selling for at other dealers. The kicker is when I asked Steve what the past discounts that had been paid out on that model car that he had previously sold. Steve looked at me with a straight face and said" that I can't tell you that that is private information and would be illegal". Are you kidding me??? a salesman saying he gave a previous customer around a $2500 discount off of MSRP IS ILLEGAL??? I did not ask what the person he sold it to name was just the generic discount to get an idea if his dealer was matching other dealers in the area. Old Steve is the perfect example of lets tell the customer the least amount of information I can so that he or she is unable to make an informed decision. Steve should go back to selling ice to eskimo's and quit trying to rip off his neighbors in Mount Airy Maryland. But I did buy a $50,000 car from an outstanding dodge dealer on the other side of town that knows his product and treats his customers like we are the ones that pay his salary.

Shady sales practices @ Century Dodge/Jeep

by tripleb3 on 03/31/2011

I went into Century Jeep Dealership and made a very specific offer on a Jeep Wrangler on the showroom floor. No money down $14,000 for my trade in $26,500 "on the road". The sales manager (Mike Fahey) told me he couldn't go higher than $12K on the trade in and $27,500 "out the door". No problem, not upset or angry, just said "thank you" and left to buy from another dealership in Clarksville. While I was in the process of making the deal, The salesman at Century Dodge (Fred Crum) calls me on my cell phone to say we have a deal.$26,500 on the road and $14K on the trade in. I said "great" and drove all the way back (30 minutes) leaving the deal on the table at the other dealership. They run my wife's credit (which we never let dealerships do unless it's a done deal). She is approved and then I proceed to see a $2,000 down payment hidden in the sales agreement which I never agreed to. Mike Fahey was trying to get the $2K back he was losing giving me $2K more for my trade in then he wanted. I told them it was classic "bait and switch" or "bait and hidden" was more like it. I left the dealership and will never return. If you want shady sales practices, where you never know where they will try to screw you in the details, go to Century Jeep/Dodge in Mount Airy, MD.
