Disappointed

In this online era of purchase I was very disappointed to find that Gettel is still playing the 'manager game'. I attempted to have transparent communication regarding purchase wishes and suffered the 45 minute wait game only to be offered a deal that was 6k higher than they offered through email. I've purchased my last two vehicles through the web without incident so thought that Gettel operated on the same standards. Long story short, recommend another dealership.

New Truck Purchase

I purchased a new 2017 Nissan Titan SL from Chrissy at Gettel Nissan and it was a wonderful experience. Chrissy was very patient as we looked at several different vehicles. Chrissy was determined and committed to get me the deal that I was looking for. Scott the sales manager was also fantastic and worked with us to get me a price within my budget. I appreciate their willingness to be patient with me and I will recommend my friends and family when they are in the market for a vehicle. Thank very much!

Saw their listing for a 2017 Nissan GT-R at $84k with zero miles on it. Went to the bank to pull a certified check and start driving the hour to the dealership only to be told it was mispriced and that they would fix the online price. The online price is still the same, what a waste of time bait and switch nonsense. Avoid this stealership like the plague!

Courteous, Great People

Zach was an awesome, he went to bat for me and got the best deal possibly based on what terms I could stay within. John in finance was easy to understand, quick, efficient and explained any questions that you have. Overall experience was great. I would highly recommend this dealership for anyone, even if you are not looking for a Nissan. Purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra

Dishonest

I confirmed the price over the phone 4 times and once over email before committing to driving 155 miles 1-way to purchase a new vehicle. After 2.5 hours driving and 2 hours at the dealership, they did not honor the price I confirmed 5 times with them. The worst part was this was going to be a surprise for my mother-in-law who left defeated. I currently own 1 Nissan and 1 Infiniti, I've also owned Nissan's in the past but after this I don't know if I'll own another. Don't waste your time driving out of town, they will give you a good deal but they are dishonest and won't honor the agreed upon price. The salesperson I worked with was great, but he's not in charge or the price and he's not who I spoke with over the phone or email. I don't blame him, I blame the dealership.

Stay Away

If I could give 0 stars I will have done so. Worst service ever. Old bait and swithc trick. They tell you they are going to be clear and honest and they are not. Specially Ashley that by email everything is going to be good and didn't even show her face at the location.

Absolutely Impressed!!!!!!!!

Absolutely impressed with my experience at Gettel Nissan, Sarasota. As soon as I walked in the door LJ was more than willing to help me with my needs. Being a first time buyer with a lower credit rating I was nervous and not certain if I could even get a car. LJ explained he was there to help me and make sure I found a reliable vehicle I was happy with. In a matter of minutes I was in the Finance office signing my paperwork with Jason who helped me get the monthly payments exactly how I wanted. I honestly had a really good time meeting the staff and just hanging out haha. Not only did LJ deliver my car to my house the next day after the detail and check up but he picked my car up to have the windows tinted and dropped it off after it was finished. Ive heard so many stories of friends buying cars and how bad it is etc. Im so overly impressed with LJ and Jason and the entire staff at Gettel Nissan. It's not everyday you get treated like a king and I have to say I feel like a king with the whole experience!!!!' Gettel Nissan should be proud to have employees like LJ and Jason. It's employees like these that bring people back!!!! Thank you again so much it's a nice feeling to be truely treated with such respect and honesty. I'm a customer for Life. If you're looking for a car you need to contact LJ and experience what car buying should be like. Thanks again guys.

No hassle

I initially went shopping for my new Sentra at Harbour Nissan who sent me what seemed to be a great price only to find out when I got there that they jacked the price up because of all these "rebates I did not qualify for. Needless to say I walked out any gave Gettel a call. They said to come on in and the price I saw online is what I would pay. In the end I got a great deal from my salesmen L.J who was the best!

NO WAY

We purchased a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport from Mark. After the documents were signed we noticed the chip / ding in the windshield. Apparently someone had placed a yellow sticker over it and it went unnoticed. The loan officer said we needed to contact our insurance company because that is what insurance is for. After pressing the issue they said they would replace the windshield with the correct Jeep emblem, order mats, and provide us with a second key since the previous owner stalled bringing it in. After having the Jeep for 4 days and cracking one windshield they still didn't order the correct windshield. We left out of sheer frustration. Be careful when you sign the finance papers because they slip a lot of extras in when you aren't looking. They didn't even have our income correct for the loan and put that we "rent". We are totally disgusted with the service and professionalism of the dealership. The salesman was great but the rest of the place sucks! We wouldn't recommend going there to anyone.

Bad customer service!

We leased a car at Gettel Nissan in Sarasota in 2011. This was our 1st time. We spent hours trying to negotiate a reasonable price. After we game to an agreement with Gettel, they got us with a couple add-ons. We paid approximately an extra $30 a month for an Excessive Wear and Use Warranty and Maintenance Contract. This warranty was supposed to cover any stains and tears of upholstery and small scratches and dings, etc. At the time our son was 4 years old, so we decided to pay the extra money for this service. They also added this zyon (not sure if that is the correct name) coating that would help prevent spots & scratches. It came along with the warranties. When we came to pick up the car there was a scratch on the rear bumper and passenger visor was broken. So we left it for another couple days to be fixed. When we came to pick up the car the visor was fixed, but they said they cannot repair the scratch on the bumper because of this clear coating that was put over the scratch. We told them we didn’t mind as long as we were not responsible for this when lease is up. WE WERE ASSURED WE WOULD NOT BE. Few days later the visor had broken again. We called Gettel and they recommended we have it repaired at our next scheduled maintenance. We agreed and they fixed, but this same visor broke again. This was ridiculous. They decided to order the entire visor. Our next scheduled maintenance they did not have the correct part. At this time, months of trying to have this repaired, my wife and I gave up as it took a lot of time for this minor fix to be repaired. And we also knew that it would be covered under warranty at the end of the lease anyway as mentioned of. We never used the visor anyway. So…. The reason that brings us to leave this review and report them to the BBB? Well, being our first time leasing a car, we were unsure 4 years later on how to return the car to Gettel. We called several times and it felt like no one wanted to help us or maybe there was not many employees there that knew what we had to do. This was very aggravating for us. We got tons of calls to re-lease or purchase a new car from them, but not much info on what we had to do to prepare car (lease) for return. Do we have to schedule appointment to have minor stains or scratches repaired by Gettel before lease end? Do we need a 3rd party auto appraiser or mechanic to look car over? Do we have to detail the car before return? These were just some of the questions we had that Gettel ignored. The last time we called Gettel, they told us just to bring car to Gettel Sarasota at month end and all’s they needed was the millage of the vehicle. 10,000 miles under our limit! Since we were covered under this wear & tear warranty I figured we were all set. Month end we dropped off the car, they took the keys and read the mileage off the car and said we were all set. A few weeks later we received a bill from Nissan Corp that we owed them $785.73. Part of this was a disposition fee for $422.65. Not sure what that is, but I did find it in the fine print of our lease contract. However, the remaining $363.08 was for excessive wear and use. REALLY?? I called Nissan Corp and explained to them my situation and they told me to contact Gettel as they were supposed to repair the car before it was returned to Nissan Corp. They said I would have to go to Gettel Nissan Sarasota and file a claim with them. This experience has been so exhausting! Not to mention most of this bill was for the scratch on the bumper and the broken visor. All of these issues existed before we leased the car and now I’m getting billed for them. Unbelievable!! I went to Gettel on 1/22/15 and spoke with Jason Crooks, Finance Manager. He looked up my info in the computer and said we had no such warranty. This was false. I also explained to him that the repairs we are being billed for are issues that were supposed to be fixed by Gettel and they assured us 4 years ago that we would not be responsible at lease end. Mr. Crooks answer to me was that he does not have anyone that still works there (at Gettel) that was there in 2011. Really? He said there is no one there that can back up my story about the scratch and visor. As a professional and manager in retail for over 25 years I found this to be extremely unacceptable. I asked him if he could check with Gettel Maintenance Department to see if they have info on these issues. He explained to me that it is all on the computer and nothing is there. I asked him one more time if there is anything that they can do to help me with these charges and he flat out said “NO”. To save time, I told Mr. Jason Crooks that I will be filing a report with the BBB and also with Small Claims Court of Sarasota to help me with this and asked again if they can fix this to avoid more headaches. Again he said “Sorry, No”. With this hassle I could never recommend this dealership to anyone. Please stay far away!

Fantastic Experience

I started my search for my new truck online and found exactly what I was looking for at Gettel Nissan. The vehicle price was exactly as quoted. I highly recommend this dealership!

Great service

I just want to share my experience at Gettel. Last month I was looking for new vehicle. I had tried other dealership and even discussed prices but was not happy. I then came to Gettel were I was blessed to have Jason Hancock as my salesperson. I already had prices and options researched. I asked him A few questions that I already new the answers to, to see if he really had expert knowledge of the vehicle. He was spot on with his answers. When it came to negotiating the price he was straight forward without any of those dealer games. I was impressed. I got the car at a below average sales price for this area. I am sure it was thanks to Jason and the fact that I had did my research before hand. lts a great feeling when you know you got a great deal. Thanks again Jason.
