Great no pressure experience!
by 07/13/2016
onMichael was fantastic. He reached out to us a year after we had looked at a used car with him and passed. He emailed to let us know there was a nice sale going on. We came in not expecting to buy, but his no pressure approach and assistance was great, and we shockingly ended up buying our first new car.

Very Helpful, Very friendly, Very Easy
by 06/05/2016
onI called early last week about a car that I had seen online. Gary was quick to help me, and got me in for a test drive. He worked with me step by step through the buying process, as this was my first car that I've bought on my own, with my own credit and income. Once the credit check came back, he hooked me up with Robb in finance, and made it super easy to buy a car. Gary and Robb made this an incredibly easy experience, and I walked off the lot driving an impressive new car. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, and with how Markley treated me throughout the process.

Always happy to purchase from Markley
by 04/05/2016
onPurchased our 4th vehicle from Markley Motors, two new and two pre owned. This purchase was the latter. We had great help from Jeremiah and Shawn. Both very knowledgeable about the cars they sell. It helped in making our decision to purchase. Basically this vehicle replaced an older one with the same features (small SUV, V6, AWD, sunroof) but this has all the latest bells and whistles, is very plush with many of the latest features and we are confident this will provide us the same or better service as the older one did. Both were made by GMC but the older one had the L66 engine and transmission made by Honda. We didn't set out to purchase a car but this model was one we had seen at the auto show and though a couple of years older than last year's model it had the new design, engine and features. Price was right and the financing even beat what I walked in the door with.

New instead of used
by 08/22/2014
onTwo times in a row we have come in looking for a used vehicle. Both times our salesman was able to find us a NEW vehicle within a couple of thousand of the used one. This made buying new not only feasable but sensible as we then got manufactures warrenties and extras that did not come on the used ones. Thank you again Markley!

Markley Motors is the place to buy your next vehicle
by 02/14/2014
onCold snowy day and we decided to "begin" our search for a vehicle that we needed to have bought by end of March 2014. Driving along and we see Markley GMC and decide to pull in because I am a General Motors guy. The GMC Accadia catches our eye so we stop at the back side of the lot to "look" the next thing I know we are talking to this nice guy named Shawn B. Shawn starts telling us some of the features of the vehicle. Then we are test driving, falling in love with our future new vehicle. Shawn finds the vehicle that we want with the features at a nearby dealership and we signed papers. Shawn was a great guy that knew not to push the "Salesman" attitude on us but to inform us of our options and help us to make a knowledgeable purchase. We left the dealership and I told my wife I have heard from some of my older relatives that they have bought vehicles from the same dealer / salesman for years. I told her that we just met that guy, she agreed. Shawn will definately get a call the next vehicle that we buy and our friends will know that Shawn is our guy and to ask for him by name.

Markley Motors is Genuine
by 12/16/2013
onThis past year I purchased a 2 year old Sierra 4X4 from Markley Motors with very low mileage and in perfect condition. I got a very fair price and enjoyed working with the sales rep - Mark H. Genuinely nice guy and a very quality dealership. They are easily a step above the average. Highly recommended.

Markley Motors of Fort Collins sales the same car twice
by 08/10/2010
onWe worked with the internet sales group getting a pretty good quote so we decided to make an appointment and drive the car. We decided to purchase a car; however, they didn't have the color we wanted the internet sales person looked at his computer and found they had one on its way so we did all the paperwork for this car; putting a deposit down filling out all the paperwork which had the vin # of said car this was on a Saturday. On Monday we receive a call saying they had already sold the car they sold us the prior week but they found us another one that we could get right away. Markley acted like they did us a big favor finding us another car and not charging us for locating if for us and driving two hours to get it. Give me a break they sold the same car twice and I should thanking them for going out of their way to locate another car!!!!!!!!! Be careful!!!!! Apparently this is common for this dealership from what the manager told us, he actually said it happens all the time.

Great Sales and Service
by 07/25/2010
onMy family and I have purchased/leased over 20 vehicles from Markley in the last 14 years. I recently purcahsed a used vehicle and have been driving it for several months now. They treated me well, got a great deal, and have been happy with the quality, low mile car I picked out from their great selection. They handled my financing and got me a screaming rate beating out my local bank. This, being my wife and I's thirteenth car purchase or lease from Markley, I don't trust anyone else. Their service department is tops. They are always pleasant to deal with, have excellent service, and their pricing, with the fourth oil change free coupon beat any quick lube shop in the area. I go to them for everything including tires, which they beat several local tire shops in pricing, and batteries. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town. Their service keeps me coming back.

Great Experience at Markley Motors!
by 01/26/2010
onMy husband and I had a really great experience at Markley Motors. We were shopping for a used Honda Odyssey and had done a lot of homework online, so we knew what pricing to expect. We'd also been coached by a friend on how the industry works, so we were ready to do battle. Our knowledgeable salesman, Jay Scott, took a lot of time with us, answering all our questions and letting us take a generous test drive. He was also very patient and understanding with our kids, who were along for the ride. Where was the battle? Jay and sales manager Tad Johnson then worked with us on what financing would actually look like for the van we were interested in, crunching numbers in various scenarios, with and without extras and upgrades. When we had all the information we wanted, we told Jay and Tad we needed 24 hours to think about our decision. There was no pressure to make a sale that day. We returned the next business day and renegotiated the price of the van, then bought it. I know Jay is in the business of selling cars, but we really felt as though he had our best interests at heart and that he was happy to match us with the van we wanted, at the price we could afford, instead of trying to sell us something we didn't need at a price beyond our real means. I plan to drive my Honda Odyssey to the end of the road, but if I'm ever in the market for another car, I will return to Markley. I would recommend Markley Motors and Jay Scott to anyone interested in a positive car buying experience!

Best dealership experience I've ever had! Easy process and great price!
by 01/13/2010
onFirst, let me say that sometimes when I read these reviews I find myself wondering if they're written by disgruntled ex-employees (i.e. impossibly negative) or maybe by the owner's children (i.e. impossibly positive). I assure you that I am neither. Now, for my review... Yes, that's right. The best dealership experience I've ever had! But don't ask me what the dealership looks like because I've never been inside. How's that? Well, I knew what I wanted and I saw that Markley had it in inventory (thru cars.com or edmunds; can't remember which). So I called Jay in internet sales who quoted me the price that I wanted right off the bat; a little over invoice and way below the edmunds TMV. There was no need to haggle! To be honest, I was fired up to ask for a lower price but when I saw Jay's offer I realized that if we'd both secretly written down numbers on pieces of paper and then compared them, we would have ended up at the exact same price. I felt robbed of the thrill of the haggle but I got exactly what I wanted in minutes instead of hours...or days. Yes, after we agreed on the price of the car Markley did do their job by trying to sell me a Protection Package and the Extended Warranty but no high pressure tactics. I just said "no, thanks. not at that price" until they got to a price that made sense to me. If they could still make a profit at a price that I though was fair, then good for them and good for me. My credit was approved in minutes over the phone and then Jay delivered the car to my house the next morning. We did a walk-thru of the car in my driveway and then signed the paperwork in my kitchen. My copies of all the docs arrived in the mail the next day. It really couldn't have been any easier. Could I have saved a few bucks by bargaining harder or pitting dealers against each other? Maybe. But the ease and convenience of working with Markley was nothing less than spectacular so the time, energy, and unpleasantness of dealing with old school car salesman wouldn't have been worth the extra couple hundred bucks that I might have left on the table. (MIGHT have left on the table; my car broker couldn't get a price that came close to what Markely offered so I'm not sure I would have done better anywhere else). If you're like me - part of the internet generation that comes armed with information about what we want and how much we want to pay - then I definitely recommend calling Jay before investing frustrating hours in the old school car-buying process where the salesman "goes to the back to talk to his manager". Maybe I just got lucky since I saw mixed reviews during my due diligence, but these guys might just be an example of the dealership of the future where everything is simple and everybody walks away happy! I hope this review helps you. Good luck!

Happy with Sales Agent
by 12/28/2009
onI recently purchased a Nissan Murano 2004 from Markley Motors. Our sales agent was Bob Crossman. He went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and find information if needed. He was honest and upfront, no hassling or cover-ups. He was also knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend Bob to anyone who is looking to buy new, or used. The management team was also nice, but didn't radiate the same trustworthy vibe as Bob, we were in good hands with him.

I love my '09 Honda Fit Sport!
by 12/03/2009
onI have never had a car I loved, until I bought my 09 Fit Sport. I play the double bass, so finding a car that would fit that was a challenge. I also wanted a reliable car, and Honda has such a good record, I knew a Fit would be a good choice. My salesman, Gary Ihle, was so helpful and got into a car i adore. I had such a plesent experience at Markley and would recommend anyone to buy a car from them. I feel so safe in my car, and it is so earth friendly. It barely cost's $20 to fill my tank, and I am getting around 40 mpg! I love never having to fill up! I drive cross country a lot too, and my Fit handles great on the highway! I truly can't say how happy I am that I got a Honda, and how grateful I am for having such great service at Markley.

I love my civic and my salesman
by 11/30/2009
onMy search for a new car was scarey. So I hid myself behind my computer until I found the right car and the right deal. Markley Motors wasn't the lowest bid but because of location I was happy to pay the extra $50. When I met my salesman he had my car ready and I went for a quick drive. The paperwork was simple and they beat the Interest rate at my credit union. Like they told me NO HIDDEN CHARGES. Everything was upfront and professional. My salesman was Matt Voegtle (I hope it is OK to print that) He was a dream to work with. I will reccomend him to everybody I know. I would even invite him to Christmas dinner if my husband would let me. Thank You Matt ,and Markley Motors

Classic USED CAR kind of place $$$$$$$$
by 11/09/2009
onMarkely Motors is what you think about when you think used car dealer. It really is all about the money and effort they have to put in. Let me tell you about my experience. It started last Wednesday. I stopped by the Dealer lot after review their inventory online. They talk about their Laid back Sales approach. Well maybe too laid back or maybe they just don't like to work. I drove on the lot in my 1992 Cadillac Seville. It is a nice car but it has some rear-end damage from an accident when my son was driving. So, it isn't the nicest car. It doesn't scream that I have lots of money. So maybe that is why none of the sales person would come out of their cozy office to assist me. I was on the lot for about a half hour and only one sales person even offered. Cool I like not being attacked by sales people but I do like to be helped. The one person that asked to help was with another customer he said he would get someone for me. I am guessing he forgot or it was too much work. Looks like that Cash for Clunkers program made their sales people [violative content deleted] but then that is just my opinion. Wow our tax dollar really help them out. Next I made an appointment with one of their internet sales people for Saturday. I arrived on the lot and actually got some help. I was in the very back of the lot and told the sales person that I had an appointment with the internet guy. Well instead of having my salesperson paged he told me to "walk all the way up front to the receptionist she can get him for you". Wow a long walk but what the hack I wasn't going to make him any money. No easy dollars here. So I hiked to the front of the lot and found the receptionist. She called my salesperson. No it gets real interesting. The sales person take me straight to a cubical and tells me that "it wasn't worth his time to help me". God forbid I should waste his time. I walked out and will never be back. I urge you never to buy from these guys.

Bizarre Take on Customer Service
by 08/06/2009
onIt used to be that a person's word was all you needed to form trust. Combine that with a $500 deposit on a vehicle and the two are still not enough to have a deal honored through the internet sales team at Markley Motors. After my wife and I settled on Markely's quote through their internet sales office we placed a deposit down to hold a Honda Fit. We were trading in a less fuel efficeint vehicle as part of the federal government CARS program which was rolled out on July 24th. Their sales team advised us to come in the first day it rolled out to avoid having to wait that Saturday. After driving over 100 miles to do just that they blamed the government's web site for not being able to sell me the car until Monday. I expected that any respectable business would work hard to make a deal like this happen after telling us to come in. Not the Markley team. I was told to come back Monday. After expressing that I was disappointed that they'd treat a customer in this manner, instead of making any accomodations the Internet Sales Manger terminated the offer and apologized not to me, but his sales associate for taking their deal away from them. Good thing the folks in Thorton, Colorado know how to treat folks. That very day I was able to complete a deal on a Honda Fit, under the CARS program no less, and left in our new car that same day. What a 180-degree difference. The GM at Markely may want to take notice. If you choose to shop for car quotes through internet sales teams, and your sales person's word and willingness to stand behind a commitment are important, I recommend looking a little farther south than Markley Motors in Fort Collins Colorado.

Easy as Pie!
by 06/29/2009
onWho knew buying a car could be so easy? I would like to thank the staff at Markley Motors for making my car purchase experience a true delight. Specifically I'd like to thank Jay Scott and Tad Johnson in Internet Sales, and Deb Ireland in Financing - their expertise and outstanding customer service provided a smooth, glitch-free experience. It's a little intimidating driving on to a car lot, and walking into a dealership - your automatic thought is that you're walking into a wolf den. At Markley Motors, nothing could be further from that old school car dealership stereotype. The sales staff are all genuinely interested in ensuring that you're purchasing a car that will suit your needs - they cater to the customer, not their bottom line. Jay and Tad are outstanding! These folks are the real deal - no slimey snake-oil salesmen in sight. I purchased a car from Markley's used car inventory and was not once pressured to look at "new" cars. The 2008 toyota corolla I purchased was exactly what I wanted! Deb in Financing is pleasant and, like the sales guys, an expert at what she does. She took time to explain everything, asked if I had questions and made the money part of the transaction a piece of pie for me! Overall, a terrific experience - thanks y'all!!

The Perfect Auto Sale
by 05/30/2009
onMy wife and I hate the hassel of purchasing a car. For the last two vehicles we purchased we've used email as the method of communicating directly with dealers to get the best price. We have been successful both times in receiving the price we expected to pay. Most recently with Markley Motors the experience was exceptional. First, the response to our initial email by Tad Johnson, the internet sales manager, was prompt and professional. The follow up email from Ryan Leeds, our sales representative, was equally prompt and professional. We received a complete price including all dealer charges (excluding tax) very close to our expected price within one hour of my request. That price also turned out to be the best price of any dealer on the front range from Ft Collins to Pueblo. Now the hard part. The first time we used this method of purchasing a vehicle, all had gone well up to this point. When arriving at that other dealership, the car was offered at the price quoted. However, in the process of completing the sale, we were placed under intense pressure to add additional features and to buy extended warranties and other services. We expected something similar at Markley Motors. The pleasant surprise. Upon arriving at Markley, the atmosphere was notably different from most dealers. I wasn't accosted by sales people. After locating Ryan, we took a test drive in the actual vehicle and returned to complete the sale. There were no surprises or hidden cost as promised in the email. Ryan suggested additional features that were available for purchase but I felt no pressure to add any. Similarly Deb Ireland the Business Manager who completed the sale discussed the warrenty and options but did not try to make a pressure sale. Overall the time at the dealer including the test drive and the completion of all the sales paper work was just a little over an hour. It was without a doubt the best car buying experience we have ever had. We recommend using email as the best way to solicit offers on new vehicles. Some tips for this include: Research the cost you can expect to pay thoroughly, Some good sites for this include Edmonds.com, TrueCar.com and ConsumerReports.org. Send individual emails to as many dealers as possible within a reasonable distance. Not all dealers will respond with an offer, some may say they will match your best offer. Pick the best offer and reply with your intent. As mentioned above Markley responded promptly and with a complete quote. They not only were the hands down winner based on price but they also provided an exceptional sale closing experience. I recommed them even for people as far away as Colorado Springs where we reside.

My sales rep was great ! Plus he really knew Honda's
by 04/07/2009
on^^^ My family had a super experience with our salesperson Hunter. This guy eats, drinks & lives Honda! He was a encyclopedia of Honda past & present. While I could tell he was being watched carefully our experience with him was great. I prefer to let the rest of the purchase speak for itself.... I wish they would just let these hard working sales people work their own deals. I hate the game to get a price.

Markley Motors Exerience
by 03/19/2009
onThe best way to summarize my experience at Markley is anything good that could have happened, happened. I want to mention our salesman Matt Veogtle because he treated both my wife and I better than any other dealer possibly could have. He was able to give us a price on the vehicle (a 2009 Honda Civic) that other dealers were laughing at believing it not to be real. There were no hidden costs when going over the numbers. Matt was able to explain every cost on the list and gave us every opportunity to choose what we wanted to pay for and what we did not. On to of the great price we also received a great financing deal.
