Buying a car from a Volkswagen Car Dealer
I think the dealer is stretching the truth a bit. The Sportswagen is virtually sold off the truck as they come in here in San Diego. However our dealers are selling them at VW MSRP. I would email dealers in other states and cities and see what they can do. You would be better off ordering just what you want. If you are using a trade that does confuse the situation. I highly recommend selling rather than trading. By the way Sedan TDIs were selling at invoice not that long ago. The JSW has never been an easy buy below MSRP. Maybe if they ever catch up with demand it will change. PS the $1300 tax credit is good till VW sells 60,000 TDIs. I don't think they are close yet.
I'm looking to buy a 3.2L Eos as soon as possible (I know, I know - bad time of year to be in the market for a convertible). I'm in San Antonio TX looking for a candy white with tan interior and some bells & whistles(nav, Bluetooth are musts). Does anyone how much I should expect to pay in South Texas for this? Should I wait until autumn in hopes that prices will go down, or is that a pipe dream? I know you're supposed to get them down to something like "$500 over invoice" or something like that, but how do you find out what invoice is?
Anyone in TX here bought this car? I have talked to lot of dealers here and they're acting as if this is the best thing on earth and are not willing to budge a dollar off MSRP.I test drove the car and I liked it but then is it worth payin MSRP, which is already 4-5K profit for them? Also, i;ve been thinking if i should just probably wait it out and see how the reviews come out. Definitely the car is gonna get cheaper in some months' time. Your thoughta on that? Anyone have suggestions about any good dealers? And has anyone bought the car below MSRP? Thanks a bunch. Anywhere in houston, dallas, austin, san antonio would do.
Ummmm....I do not believe that you had a first tank of 'gas' :D I think you were part of the hysteria paying MSRP...
Error above. Actually paid $24,580 - exactly the MSRP as posted on edmunds (not 25.5K). Out the door was about 25,800 after taxes and tags, plus 500 deposit paid earlier when car was ordered. That was quite a surprise to me - that they hadn't inflated that MSRP number considerably with "add-ons" - seems to be a favorite tactic at toyota.
