Ow. Not a good start for an all new model. But VW has company: Subaru had a stop sales order on the '09 Forester XT because a few overseas models has severe engine wear.

In Portland, OR, I saw a dealer advertising "1 car" at $6100 off MSRP. Not bad. So a $26,000 car is just under $20K.

Did you purchase the base or 2.0T Eos? My dealer here in Portland says that the manuals won't be in til Feb 2007. Hard to be patient!

I paid $20,920 for this exact rabbit which is MSRP. You can NOT get a GTI for $21,000 in a 4 DOOR with a Sunroof and Satelite radio ( in my area)...believe me I checked that out before I bought my Rabbit....plus you need to go leather in the GTI to get heated seats...I love this car, I did a lot of test drives of other cars and came out of a VW Passat which I loved, but the Rabbit is a lot of car for the money. It does not feel like driving a tin can.
