I know that Illinois' sales tax laws for leases are terrible. I don't know the exact details of how sales tax is calculated in your state, but I would not be surprised if the way that you described it is correct. It's a lot better than its previous lease program. I know about the dealer incentive and the holdback, but the internet guy refused to sell it below invoice. Dealer fees were only $302. I told him this morning that I was passing on the deal and would instead pay off my Pathfinder and enjoy the money in my wallet. If he gets desparate, and needs to sell it, he cen send me a better offer next weekend :-)
