Sub-Standard Serivce Department

onI recently took my 2006 Subaru Tribeca to Stohlman Subaru for its 30k mile service. Unfortunately, I left disappointed and feel it is important to provide a description of my experience in order to inform future customers.
1) My number one complaint was that the service department did not provide a detailed list of the service to be performed for the 30k mile service. Upon asking the service advisor, I was provided with a list of services for a 1999-2001 Outback--no current list for the appropriate model and model year was avaliable. This list of services did not include anything to do with a 2006 Tribeca.
2) A large number of services listed in the Stohlman 30k mile service package were extras--such as products and services not in the owners manual. I was informed by the Assistant Service Manager that if I did not perform certain "extra" services, my vehilce warranty could be voided. The extra services were such items as BG brand fluid additives etc. I was informed that the list of services in the owner's manual were adequate and that non-OEM products must be used.
3) A 30k mile service calls for a variety of fluid changes and inspections. The owners manual calls for a transmission fluid inspection--not change. I was told by the Assistant Service Manager that due to the location of a Subaru transmission the, "transmission fluid burns easily," and if it is not replaced every 30k miles your warranty is void.
Having previously been employed as a Subaru service advisor, and staying informed on service bulletins, I was disappointed that a Subaru service advisor would use such pre-canned statements to coerce customers into getting services they do not need. There are no problems with the placement and design of a Subaru transmission, and the fluid only needs to be inspected and replaced if necessary. Also the extra services with non-OEM products will not impact the validity of the vehicle's warranty. A Subaru service department should have a current list of services that is accurate for each model and model year.
