Poor maintenance service provided

by Yellowbus on 08/30/2023

I had an oil change at Parkway Chevrolet this morning. Parkway claims to have performed a 27 point check, making sure my car was ready for the road. After paying the $73, I checked for myself making sure all fluids were topped off. They were not. Windshield fluid was low, radiator fluid low, tire pressure 30 psi, s/b 35. I drove with my hood still up back to the service bay and asked the group of workers standing around if the fluids were checked. They all responded with a big YES. I pointed out the low fluids. Two guys came over, added the needed fluids. I pointed out the low tires, they corrected that. Sad as I was lied to. When I looked on my paperwork the milage read 21,548, my car's milage was 19,004. What's more disturbing, how many other cars being serviced, and really aren't. I'm glad I checked, now my car is road worthy for a trip.

Horrible service and service department. Customer service was horrible. The loaner vehicle was trash. The car I bought had chicken nuggets everywhere after “Detailing.” This dealership blows

inspection & oil change

There have been SOOOOOOOOO many changes over the past few years that it seems that each time you go, its a different experience from the last. Over all, I'm pleased but I was disappointed in the music that was being played in the service garage. I understand that music can help with productivity and helping pass the day but the lyrics of the music being played (rap) were very offensive. When you are at work, what you do represents the company you work for, as does the music that can be heard by customers not just the employees. Keep this in mind when a music selection is being decided on. Keep the hard core music with offensive lyrics to your personal time in your own personal space.

I was very pleased with the dealership and my service adviser. I dropped off the car and told my service adviser what the problem was. I was contacted once the problem was diagnosed. The problem was explained to me thoroughly and I authorized the repairs. The repairs were completed same day and I picked up my car. Their customer shuttle is very convenient, allowing me to drop of my car and still get to where I need to go while the repairs are done.

I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN

by JWWolfe on 05/29/2018

Long, but worth the read! I am a fair person. Only one other time have I ever given a bad review online, and that was 7 years ago, and warranted just as much as this bad review. I would never recommend Parkway Chevrolet to anyone after my recent interaction with them. I will try to keep this as short as possible, but want to ensure I am detailed as well so the entire picture is painted as best I can. Back in mid-January, I purchased a used Yukon with fairly low miles, but had some issues with it that needed to be addressed and repaired before I was comfortable with the purchase. I had a list of 8 items to be fixed. I knew some items probably wouldn’t, but I figured I would give it a shot. I was told not to worry, and everything would be taken care of. I scheduled a time to drop my car off on Jan 29th with a hand-written list as well as a text of the list of items. I was told to come up there on Jan 31st to get my Yukon. When I arrived, only one item had been fixed on the list of 8 items. Again, two items were basically fingers crossed, if they didn’t fix them, I was ok with that. Those items were a crack on the plastic portion on the back-passenger seat as well as rust on the tracks underneath the driver and passenger side seats. I was told GMC warranties any rust, so there was hope for that one. Turns out, that warranty is for exterior paint only, so they did not repair the rusted tracks. I was ok with that, and they didn’t repair the crack on the plastic either. I too was ok with that. The other 6 items, to include the rear passenger side taillight had still not been fixed, and that was the most important item to me, and I was assured THAT particular item would have been repaired or replaced. Naturally when I showed up to see only one of the 8 items on the list had been repaired after being told not to worry, everything would be taken care of, I became a little upset. A couple of hours later, the maintenance manager I was working with did agree to fix most of the items, to include the taillight. I was told the taillight lamp had gone bad, and they would replace it with a new lamp at no cost to me. After only having the vehicle for less than 2 weeks at this time, I felt this was fair. I came back the next day and the items I was told they would repair/replace had been completed this time. Fast forward 2.5 months, and the same rear passenger taillight had gone out again. Understanding this is a “wearable item,” I figured my extended warranty would not cover the replacement unless it was an electrical malfunction. I was told it was not electrical, but a faulty lamp; therefore, I was right, and my extended warranty denied the claim, according to my sales rep. My initial thought was it had NOT been long enough for a wearable item to have gone out (LESS than 3 months). I was also only 2,000 miles outside of my initial manufactures bumper to bumper warranty, so I had a good feeling this would be a simple conversation. I expected the Parkway Chevrolet management team would agree with me and decide to replace it again since it was an obvious issue with a faulty lamp that they had put in during the original replacement. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It appeared my sales rep was trying everything he could to assist me with the right customer service, but unfortunately this was not his call to approve. I received a call from maintenance telling me it would be $954 to replace the lamp they had put in my vehicle less than 3 months ago. The maintenance tech did tell me it was a faulty lamp. Again, I was certain the management team would understand that they put a faulty lamp in my vehicle that did not last and they would make things right for their customer and replace it for me. Keep in mind, I am not one who ever looks for free handouts on anything. I have worked hard my whole life and have gotten to where I am today by being honest and fair throughout my military time and professional career. I decided it was time to get with the General Sales Manager (GSM), Mike Richey. After a couple of days, I was finally able to speak to Mike on the phone. His attitude throughout the entire conversation was a “too bad” type of demeanor. He told me, and I am paraphrasing, “this is a pre-owned vehicle with a wearable item that has gone out. I can’t do anything for you.” At this point, I am still calm, and just figured he did not understand the entire situation. Therefore, I detailed out everything that had occurred prior to this 2nd taillight going bad and made it very clear that the “wearable item” didn’t last 3 months and only a couple of thousands of miles. It’s not like I put 100,000 miles on it, or else I would completely understand and pay for the replacement, but that is not the case. In my mind, it was clear that they had replaced my previous lamp with a faulty lamp, and surely, Mike would understand where their customer was coming from and make the situation right by getting me a lamp that was not faulty. Mike’s attitude never changed. At this point, I am furious. There is absolutely no way I should be responsible for nearly a $1,000 repair on a replacement where they clearly either replaced it with a malfunctioned product, or didn’t replace the lamp in the first place. It is not the money I am concerned with, even though a $954 taillight replacement is steep, it is the situation I am distraught over. Mike, the GSM, again, didn’t care, and never once apologized for the situation, and definitely never thought about Parkway Chevrolet replacing it again. Mike told me he did reach out to GMC to see if they would cover it. GMC did not, so I am a little upset about that too, but then again, why would GMC cover a replacement light when Parkway Chevrolet put the faulty lamp in to begin with? So now I am making it a point to ensure I reach out to as many people as possible. Hopefully they read this detailed review and decide not to get screwed over by this same company/management team that I did. I will get my taillight replaced, if needed, but it will be done somewhere else. I will never give any money to Parkway Chevrolet again, even if I have to pay more by going to a third party. Note to Parkway Chevrolet and Mike Richey… If my review deters just one buyer, then what was probably only $400, or less, for the dealership, will now have cost you several thousands of dollars from that individual choosing not to purchase from classless people. In my eyes, that is not good business. You should have taken care of your customer, especially since this is so black and white.

2016 Corvette RIP OFF

by vette2016 on 09/21/2017

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a car & dealership. Not only did Parkway Chevrolet sell me a defective 2016 Corvette, they are not working with me in anyway to resolve the issue aside from allowing me to take my car in over and over and over for service. Rear differential was the FIRST issue, immediately after I put down $15,000 on this car. They decided charging me for 2 new $450 TIRES would be easier than replacing the differential. Yet never bothered to send me photos of the nails in my tires, because I was out of town. I sent dozens of emails and calls. The first time I had my car in service it was there for NINE days. Another time they had it for ELEVEN days. They give me a completely filthy loaner TRUCK each and every time I had to take my car in. I have been through this with GM before with a Hummer that was defective, & did not have anywhere NEAR this much trouble with the dealership or with GM. With parkway, I INITIALLY simply asked them to apply my $15,000 down payment and my $875 paid monthly payments to another corvette, instead of my having to file with GM to buy back the vehicle. Simple solution. NOW I AM DEMANDING THEY REFUND MY MONEY AND TAKE THIS VEHICLE BACK. In 2016 when I originally filed for help with GM, There was absolutely Zero indication that GM cared to uphold their name and back this product, & Parkway has no interest in maintaining the integrity of their name. I explained to everyone very clearly that I have been paying close to $900 a month for a car that has not been running properly since I bought it, on top of the fact that it has been in service equating to close to an entire month collectively. I INITIALLY afforded them the opportunity to take the vehicle back and put me into another one, and they elected to treat me with nothing but absolute disregard. The dealership doesn't care in the least about ANY OF THIS. They have dismissed every issue with this car, just so I will 'go away'. AUGUST 18,2017: car was towed in because it wouldn't move out of park. TRANSMISSION SHIFT CONTROL HAD TO BE REPLACED. YES, ANOTHER MAJOR ISSUE. I got my car back to find they left me with ZERO GAS AND MY CAR WAS FILTHY INSIDE AND OUT. I Heard back from FORBES DURDIN AUGUST 19,2017 AND HE TOLD ME TO "take my business elsewhere". Nothing more. General Motors contacted me: John [contact info removed] on 8/23/17 and I submitted my report. John told me that he would get back with me in a few days with an update, and advised me not to retain an attorney, as General Motors would resolve the matter for me. I never heard back from John. I called him yesterday 09/20/17. He told me that he spoke to someone in service named 'Joe' at Parkway Chevrolet, and that General Motors will not be assisting me any further. I then asked him if he received my service history report because Parkway Chevrolet has refused to send it to me. John then told me that he will not send that to me either. He also told me to take my corvette to a different dealership, after I told him I have a new issue with the car. I requested help from GM last year right after I bought this car, and it went nowhere. I am requesting help again from multiple parties, as anyone can clearly see that Parkway sold me a defective vehicle. I will send GM, BBB AND THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE my attorney's information as soon as I retain his services tomorrow!

2017 Chevrolet Silverado

by Pedroelrey on 11/06/2016

Been to many dealerships in my life time, and never had an issue. At Parkway Chevrolet, I had the worse experience of my life. Let me test drive the vehicle I came there to buy (New 2016 High Country), then when I went to purchase it, said the person that got there before me is buying it. Said I should have held on to the keys. How could I have held on to the keys when you asked for them back?? Then put me in a 2016 used High Country that had been in a accident but never disclosed it. I found the paperwork in the glove box from Auto Check after I purchased it and got home. Came back to dealership about not only the accident it was involved in, but also had vibration when sitting at a stop sign or signal light, and had holes drilled below the steering wheel. Addressed these items with them and they said they could not fix anything, so I asked for my vehicles back that I traded in. Salesman said they were already sold and gone to highest bidder, which I found out 3 weeks later that that was a lie. Found my car on there website for sale 3 weeks later?? Anyway they said I had to keep that High country or trade up to 2017, cause they had no more 2016's, turned out to be another lie. So I was railroaded into a 2017 Silverado LTZ at a much higher cost and note at $109 more than the High Country. Dealership was a complete rip off.

[non-permissible content removed] in the finance department

by rajincajin26 on 09/20/2016

Shady dealership, and Whitney Babineaux in the finance department is [non-permissible content removed]. Whatever you do, do not buy any of his b.s. add ons or so called "warranties". Bought the warranty because he insisted repeatedly it was "FULLY CANCELLABLE" - his exact words. I bought a used acura, and should have fully tested the sound system but I didn't turn it up too loud. As soon as I got on the road and turned it up I realized the front passenger door speaker was completely shot. Not a huge deal, but I tried to get ahold of Whitney to see if the warranty covered it, or anything else. Took two weeks to get ahold of him, and had to go through the salesman in order to do so, to find out the warranty didn't cover it. Again not a huge deal, but I decided to cancel the warranty after that, but Parkway shorted the amount of the refund by SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS. Don't listen to a word [non-permissible content removed] says, and take your money to another dealership.
