Dealership Sales Review

Promises, Promises
Written by stephen76 on 08/01/2014
I live in GA and was on the hunt for a very specific Honda and Economy happened to have exactly what I was looking for. We negotiated with the internet sales rep to get the lowest price possible after using written quotes from other dealerships for price matching/beating. The item that closed the deal for me is that I finally got them to agree to throw in a trunk tray and cargo net, although they weren't too agreeable for the net at a mere $49. Once they agreed to throw that in I agreed to give a deposit and drive the 2 hours to pick up the car on Memorial Day weekend. When I arrived the car was fairly clean but had to send it back for a second round b/c it looked as though it was given a mud bath. I then proceeded to check the trunk and of course no cargo net. they didn't even check to see if they had one in stock before I got there! I asked about it and our sales person, Jason B, knew nothing about it and said we could just pick another accessory. yeah no. not the deal. I pressed him and told him that was the whole reason I was there, but he assured me there was nothing he could do except order me the net and ship it to my house or to the dealership and I pick it up. . yet it required 1 hour of labor to be installed and I wasn't driving 4 hours round trip for that. I insisted to talk to the Manager. He, Garland, was very nice and accomodating and immediately came to the solution that he would cut me a check for their cost to have the net installed and I could have it done at a dealership in GA. Fine. let's do it. Thank you! Well, here I am 2 months later and I have yet to receive the check and I already had the net installed at my own expense. I called Jason numerous times only to hear hollow promises and I lost complete faith that he was even able to handle this simple task. He left me voicemails promising a check was in the mail on Monday, only to call me back on Wed to say the cargo net should be shipping out today and for me to send them a receipt once I got the net installed. WTF?? that was never discussed and never part of the deal. I was like he memory was erased and had no clue what was originally agreed. It was at this point I ditched Jason completely and focused on Garland. He was very nice and promised a check would be sent out that day. that was 2 weeks ago! I even left 2 voicemails for Garland's boss, Shannon, and he has yet to call me back. Nobody has. I have been forced to involve Honda of America just to get what is rightfully owed to me. In short, it was a very frustrating experience given the incompetency of Jason and the hollow promises, unresponsiveness and lack of resolve by Management. I don't accept this and could not recommend this dealership to friends or family. There are plenty of dealerships in GA that would provide far better service than this, lesson learned.
