Sales review

by Sonya on 08/20/2019

Mr Tito Rodriguez was an Awesome salesman. He treated me as if I were one of his close Family members. I were looking to spend a certain budget but the deal that I got couldn't have been better. Never owned a newer car off a lot without a cosigner. Always bought a used car from a private person. Glad I was able to find the vehicle I wanted for the price. If anyone is interested in a new or used car, ask for Mr. Rodriguez, he's Awesome.

Ed Mickley was fantastic!

by The_Cheshires on 08/06/2019

Early in July, my husband and I came to Honda Cars of Aiken to meet with Ed and potentially leave with a new car. I ended up trading in my old Honda and purchasing an amazing car! Ed was so helpful and kind through the whole experience. We told him our budget and exactly what we were looking for and he stuck to what we asked for. He was honest and transparent. We are very grateful for the service Ed gave us and love our new car!!!

Ed is Excellent!

by ashleycaudill on 07/30/2019

We truly enjoyed our experience at this dealership. Ed went all the way to Augusta to bring back the van that my husband and I had found online and were interested in. He was very kind and helpful throughout the process without being at all over bearing or pushy. He was willing to go the extra mile for us and we truly appreciate it. We love our van and will definitely be recommending this dealership!

Outstanding Sales Rep

by Joe on 07/12/2019

My experience with Ed Mickley, my sales rep at HCofA was exceptional. Ed is extremely knowledgable, professional and cares about his customers. Six months after I purchased my CRV from Ed I had a battery problem. I called Ed on his cell phone and within 30 minutes Ed was at my home to jump start my vehicle. He followed me to the dealership where the battery was replaced ASAP at no charge. I can't speak highly enough of Ed's honesty, integrity and professionalism.

Ed is extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Honda. When you deal with Ed your dealing with someone you can have confidence in and trust. Can’t give a higher recommendation.

Lemon used car

by Dorothy on 05/11/2019

I bought a Chevrolet Traverse in September of last year and it needed a head in January of this year. The vehicle was consuming oil like crazy. This was a 14,000 vehicle. Honda Cars said they could not do anything to help me. Alex Berry told me lies after lies, so buyers be aware of Honda Cars of Aiken.

Purchased a 2018 Chevy Colorado

by Doug_S on 04/20/2019

I purchased a 2018 Chevy Colorado Z71 from Honda Cars of Aiken that I found on Auto Trader. The sales experience could not have been better. I flew into Augusta from Charlotte and my sales exec picked me up at the airport. The truck was immaculate, just as advertised. The professionals at the dealership handled the details of the transaction quickly and efficiently. I can heartily recommend Honda Cars of Aiken to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle.

Best Experience Ever

by Lin on 09/30/2018

From my initial contact with Lerin A, then with Ed M, Mark O(Sales Manager) . Cliff W and John P......absolutely the best experience ever at a car dealership. I used the USAA buying service to purchase a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. They honored and accepted all the USAA recommendations. They lived up to their motto........ at Honda Cars of Aiken we always offer: - A hassle free buying experience - Quick appraisal of your current vehicle - Special financing options - Truly exceptional customer service People in general are dealing with enough stuff in life, they don't deserved to be racked across the coals ..... while trying to buy a car. This dealership has something special and I pray to God that they never lose it. Best experience ever. Lin

Superb experience! Nicest guys around!

by SCVolunteer on 08/07/2016

Bought used vehicle from Honda of Aiken. The vehicle was exactly as advertised. They let us inspect the vehicle completely unpressured despite it being a fairly high-end vehicle, alone. They allowed us to test the vehicle alone as well, no salesman. "Take as long as you need." Negotiation took maybe 15 minutes. They didn't haggle with us at all. We showed them our research regarding the market value, we offered a fair price and they accepted. The paperwork took less than 30 minutes and we were gone. Took longer for them to prep the car and fill it up (even though the car was spotless) . Top two best car buying experiences I have ever had!!!! Nicest guys in South Carolina. No BS at all. Thanks Honda of Aiken!!

2015 Fit Ev

by vroomvroom7 on 04/05/2015

Just recently purchased a 2015 Honda Fit EV at Honda Cars of Aiken. I'd say overall, I had an outstanding experience at this dealership. Like most people, I expected to get really jerked around and treated poorly but I received the exact opposite. As soon as I pulled in, Dustin came up and started talking to me. Without being pushy, we talked about what I was interested in and jumped right into it. We ended up settling on the fit (which really met all my criteria and is just a cool car) and sat down to talk price. Right out the gate, I was given a fantastic trade-in price for my 2006 F150 and had the price walked down to the true car "good price" for MSRP without any haggling. During that time, Dustin and his boss (can't remember his name, prior Navy guy) never abandoned me to twiddle my thumbs. If Dustin had to leave, he told me exactly what it was he was doing and why they were doing it. Initially, I planned to pay the full price up front but after realizing that financing through honda would get me an additional 500 off, plus help my credit I decided to settle on that. In my situation, I don't really use my credit card a lot so while I had a strong rating, I didn't have a lot of history. The interest rate quoted to me was about 5.75% which according to them was a great rate based on my overall lack of credit lines/history - although I will say I could have gotten a better rate through USAA due to my history with them. Not a big deal, and I'm smart enough to understand that financing through Honda helps them out but we also talked through the interest rate and how I could still capitalize on both receiving the 500 off, build my credit, and minimize the overall interest I would pay (because like I said, I initially planned on paying it all upfront). I would say that we reached a very good deal that managed to help everyone involved and they were upfront and honest with me the whole time. I think from the time I pulled up to the time I walked out was about 3-4 hours which to me is pretty solid. As far as time goes, I never really felt like I was wasting time or not being productive. Again, overall I am very happy with my experience at Honda Cars of Aiken. Looking at the older reviews, I'd say something has definitely changed since then and this is now a solid place to have a great car buying experience.

Amazing Dealership and Staff

by bharward on 03/22/2015

We went in with the normal apprehension of dealing with typical car dealers; however, we walked out having had the best car buying experience that we have ever had. Right from the start Brad Hardy was a knowledgeable and personable salesman without making us feel like we were being pressured into buying a vehicle. Our great experience continued with negotiating the deal and then finalizing the deal. We appreciated Vince Shivers' knowledge in financing our vehicle and making useful suggestions for for the plan that best suited our driving style and purposes. Professionalism, respect for the buyer, and a great products will make us repeat customers! Thanks Brad, Vince, and Honda of Aiken!!

Broke promise, wasted time

by tsw2000 on 10/30/2014

This post is a promise I made to myself after my poor car buying experience at Honda Cars of Aiken. We recently purchased a new Honda van from Honda Cars of Aiken. I shopped around and Terry Green at Honda Cars of Aiken promised to "beat any competitor's quote" and gave me an "out the door" quote from that was $400 less than the next dealer. When I arrived with the check that quote was reneged upon because of blah, blah, blah (strike one) - and when I said "no", he went to "talk to the finance manager" which after 5 minutes of sitting, I got up and found him smoking outside (I understand this is a softening-up technique but really, stop wasting my time - strike two - I should have walked out at that point). He got the manager, Vince Shiver, who came back and I negotiated to the price I got from the other dealer (not the out the door price I was promised - strike three - I was damn mad at this point, I should have left and am still mad at myself for not doing so). What makes me really angry is not the $400 difference, but the fact that 1) they broke their promise and 2) they wasted my time - and by going and smoking cigarettes while I'm sitting there is just disrespectful - at least smoke where the customer can't see you. Unfortunately, I don't think this is an atypical buying experience but maybe it will help someone who is planning to buy a new car. So - if you need a new Honda feel free to test drive at Honda Cars of Aiken, but don't purchase from there - go to Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, or Atlanta - or if you do, pay attention.

Dealer plays games

by Charleston43 on 06/27/2014

I had a price from another Honda dealer. I then went to Honda Cars of Aiken. They told me the price I got from the other dealer was bogus. So, while I sat in front of this sales person, I called the other dealer and put him on speaker phone. The price I had received was again confirmed. We got up to leave and suddenly the sales manager appeared and told us he would match the other Honda dealer's price. We should have just left. When we actually sat down to sign the sales agreement, we noticed the price had increased by $400. We asked where that came from and was told it was the "doc fees". So Honda Cars of Aiken again played a game with us and we ended up paying more. Would never buy another car from Honda Cars of Aiken. In fact, when we were surveyed after the purchase by Honda, we told them how dissatisfied we were with this dealer. Honda really ought to have more control over their dealers and weed out the bad ones like the one here in Aiken.

Seemed fair and honest

by vanbuyer8 on 05/08/2014

I was very disappointed after reading the reviews for this dealership and had no intention of doing business with them. But, I decided to stop by simply to see how their price compared to my web research of target prices for a 2014 Honda Odyssey LX. I planned only to use the price they offered as a reference in my search. I made it known to the salesperson (Calli) and anyone else I spoke with that I was concerned about their reviews on the web. To my surprise, they accepted the target price I offered. Then, I decided to move up to the Odyssey EX. I hadn't done research on target prices for this model, but the salesperson showed me the target prices on the web using Edmunds.com, Cars.com (the two places I used to research the LX), and also suggested we look at Nada.com. I picked the lowest target price and said I'd pay that, and they accepted. There was no haggling, which surprised me, but I felt the price was fair to both them and me. They didn't have the EX in stock in the color I wanted, so they had to locate one. That meant putting down a $1,000 deposit. Again, this made me nervous, strickly because of the bad reviews. It took 2 days to get the van I wanted to their lot. The entire time, I was worried. I was sure they'd somehow rip me off and take my deposit, and I'd be out $1,000! That's how concerned I was about the reviews. My salesperson knew I was concerned, so he called me as soon as the van arrived. I said I'd be in the next day. I didn't learn until then that my salesperson came in on his day off to make sure everything continued to go smoothly. I give him a lot of credit to do what he could to reassure me. Now, where I did lose money was on my trade, the 2000 Ody LX. It was in very good condition, but I hadn't yet researched the blue book value and taken time to think about what I felt it was really worth. After all, I never intended to do business with this dealership due to the bad reviews. The salesperson pulled up kbb.com (Kelly Blue book) and showed me the value range for my trade in. He offered towards the lower end of the range for a vehicle in my van's condition, and I stupidly took it without haggling. But, that's MY fault, not theirs. My only regret is that I didn't properly research what my trade was worth. It's now been about 3 weeks since I bought the vehicle and intentionally waited to write a review to give time to see how they responded if I had questions or other issues. I called a couple times with questions, and each time they responded quickly, even when I spoke with the service department about how something worked. I felt they were knowledgeable about their product, and they were always respectful. I talked to both my salesperson and his manager about the reviews to inquire why they are so bad. Neither knew the specific situations which caused the poor reviews, but speculated that perhaps it was due to someone not getting the lowest finance rating (usually 0.9%) because of their credit rating. I can see why someone would be upset if their payment ballooned because of the finance rate, but this is based on a person's credit rating and is out of the dealership's control. If this was the reason some said they paid more than promised, perhaps the dealership should make it more clear that the lowest finance rate can only be offered to those qualifying, although we, as consumers, should realize that. Again, I have no idea if this was the cause of the low ratings, but I had no problems with this dealership. I felt they were fair, honest, and respectful. Just do your homework so you know a fair price to offer. Oh, and if you wonder why I give 4 stars rather than 5, well, I very rarely give 5 stars to anyone, figuring it's rare that anyone is perfect. However, if I could, I would give 4.5 stars to this dealership. I am leary of most vehicle dealerships, but so far, my dealings with them have been fair and honest.

Shady Dealership and sales people

by mgbusc on 01/23/2014

I would never step foot in this dealership ever again. It was an absolute horrible experience where the salesman would quote a price and never honor it. Even the internet guy was a joke. I was waiting for assistance and he was watching a movie on his computer. They quoted a price in which they never intended to honor.... quoted a trade in value on my vehicle in which they never intended on honoring. If you go to this dealership you will be sorry you ever step foot in this place. Absolute horrible experience. I called the Honda corporate office twice and they did nothing about them except said they would have the manager call me which he never did. Be careful because I found out the owner of this dealership owns one in Charleston and Beaufort as well.

Buyer Beware - Don't swim w these [non-permissible content removed]

by doa on 01/16/2014

These people will beat you down and take your shoes if you buy from here. Promises, lies and a bill. I should have known from the beginning when they tried to charge me for free service on an older vehicle. Hid my keys so I could not leave and made me feel like a criminal. Please don't consider this dealer for anything. Service and sales are the worst I've experienced in life. If you like being burned go ahead but I'll have scares for a long time from my new car buying experience.

Don't trust their internet "quote"

by dxg231 on 08/27/2012

I requested a quote on Edmunds from this dealer. Received an email and a call rather quickly. I asked for a quote for a CRV EX-L and exchanged a number of emails with a salesman. Each email he only answered one of my questions with half a sentence. The price quote was seemingly low and attractive but it was never clear what car model it references to. After I specifically asked for a formal quote with car features, I never received a response again. They basically have no respect for your time and just want to get you to the dealer and then do whatever they want.

I will never buy from those ******** again!

by adoan on 06/17/2008

My buying experience was wonderful at first; the people were nice to me and acted as if they really wanted to help. I was buying my first new SUV and I admit I should have done more research. I was told that the car I was buying had a special protectant from scratches and all that it was so wonderful, the very first thing that happened was a scratch and it turn out that the protectant they were talking about was only wax. The charge for it was about $1200.00. Then they told me that my car had XM radio which was not the case. The salesman told me that as soon as I registered with owner’s link I would be able to have xm service free for 3 month then decide to buy. I drove home signed up on owners link and the radio would not come on, it turns out the car had no xm capabilities, I called the dealership, the salesman told me that the radio wasn't really the selling point that lead me to purchase the vehicle anyway so that I shouldn't be disappointed. I sent a complaint in to the people at Honda and they forwarded it to HONDA CARS OF AIKEN, a sales manager called me and basically said that he knew that his salesman would not have made that mistake and that I was basically trying to get over on the dealership. That is when I really got upset because I knew that it was a group effort not just the salesman who snow balled me but the dealership as a whole. I ran across the salesman about a month or two later working at target, He pretended he didn't remember me. I don't know whether he was fired for lying to people or what but I really wish that the Dealership would have stood up for me as a whole and help me recoup over 2000.00 in extra charges on extras that did not really exist. I will never do it again, Do your homework people, don't let the salesman tell you about your cars features know about them before hand they will over charge you and make it seem like the features are more than they truly are. After the sale you are stuck with the product even if they were untruthful. I will never buy from HONDA CARS OF AIKEN again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
