Berkeley Ford Service Department

onI went to Berkeley Ford and ordered an Actuator because
the door lock on the drivers side would not work with my
remote. The part cost $ 74.72.
The Service Manager agreed to install the part.
On July 21 I returned and the mechanic took less than
an hour to install the part on my Lincoln Towncar.
I was shocked and appalled when I was presented with
a bill totalling $319.96.
In addition to the part cost the bill included 2.5 hours
for mechanic time AND $96.50 for an electrical test that
was completely unneceaasy given that I personally had
confirmed the Actuater was faulty before I went to
Berkeley Ford and ordered the new Actuater.
The Service Manager told me the electrical test was
mandatory however the Parts Manager told me the electrical
test was optional.
I was not presented the electrical test as an option and
didn't have the opportunity to decline it. It was
Obviously and Completely unnecessary.
The bill for this work should have included the part cost
of $74.72 and ONE hour of mechanics time plus taxes.
I have spent thousands of dollars with Berkely Ford over the
past three (3) years on my 2003 Lincoln Towncar and do not
appreciate the treatment I received on this bill.
I will not be returning to Berkeley Ford unless I receive
a refund of $150.00 +
