Useless Warranty

by Chache on 07/22/2020

After only a few weeks of buying a new Hyundai Elantra the door handle come off when I opened the door. Dickson City Hyundai said it door handles weren't covered under the warranty and that it would cost about $70. We called Hyundai Corporate directly and they said it should be covered. So Hyundai called Dickson City and Dickson City lied to them saying our car was in car crash so Hyundai refused to cover it. When we spoke to Dickson City again about fixing the door handle they said it would be over $100. Terrible, terrible place, do not buy a car there. They truly do not deserve even one star.

Keep going back!

by Mraab314 on 09/11/2015

I just had my second purchase with Dickson City Hyundai and salesman Carm Perri. Despite living out of the area now, I will keep coming back to this dealership (and requesting Carm). Both times Carm has listened to both my needs and my financial situation and has come up with a car that suits both of those perfectly. He is friendly and professional and knows how important finding the right car has been for me and my family. He never makes me feel like I am asking too many questions or rushes me into a purchase. In addition, everyone I interacted with at the dealership was also incredibly friendly - you go in feeling like a friend, not just another customer. Thanks DCH for your continued excellence in service! I look forward to many many years of being a valued customer to all of you! I LOVE my new car!!!

Honest & Caring

by JulesinC_ville on 09/16/2014

Just traded in our horrible Chevy Cruze for a 2014 Hyundai Accent GLS with our salesman, Levi Miller. Levi took good care of us by getting to know our needs & suiting us with the best vehicle for our needs. He took his time with us & was compassionate to our situation. Not once did we feel pressured. We got an honest trade & didn't spend a lot of time muddling thru the car lot searching for cars that were out of our means or not suitable for us. He gave us a very easy to read preliminary deal on paper 1st, then on we went to financing, which went well also. Allen Oliviera in financing, took his time, answered questions & explained things in a simple manner. We did not feel pressured or rushed into making any decisions. As I looked around the car lot, there were many smiles from other faces of customers & sales persons. Take it the way you want, but that speaks volumes to me. We will be returning customers. Thank You Dickson City Hyundai & Levi Miller

Honestly is NOT their best policy....

by ZZima on 09/13/2014

Secret room scam artists" " Leased a car for my daughter in 2011.. When the lease was up we went to buy the car out due to the over mileage on the car and decided she really liked the car. After showing her this "fabulous" 2014 car they made a very appealing deal to her and she agreed to lease again. They bought her car and said they would pay the over mileage on the car and she is "free and clear" to lease a 2014. Ohh wait.... You want to keep the same payment??? Well then they said you have to put 1800$ down in order to keep payments where they were..... Wait let me speak to my manager...Away to the "secret back room" to see if deal can be made but first initial this to show what you want your payment to be.... Huh? Umm ok? (Btw my husband and I own 5 vehicles and the only place that has a secret back room is Hyundai in Dickson city) ok long story short she signed and gave them $1800 for this 2014 Hyundai elantra. 1 month later I got a letter stating I owed the over mileage on the 2011 Hyundai bought back off me to get me into the 2014. When I called Greg (my sales guy) he said he talked to "ray" and it was simple mistake , not to worry, it's all taken care of" we bought your car, therefore we paid your over mileage ....month 2 I get a second notice that my account on the 2011 is "past due" with interest $1592.27... Husband and I personally went up and again Ray, max Carlos, never came out of the secret back room but again I was assured it was "taken care of" we bought your car... Yet no manager had the time to come out of hiding in the secret room. Finally a collections agency calls me and tells me I am placed in collections for an unpaid balance of the over mileage on my 2011 Elantra! They advised me to go to the dealership and advise them they need to either cut me a check for this amount or be on a conference call with me to clear this up. My husband and I go to dealership and demanded to get on a conference call with the cowards hiding in the back and was denied. I repeatedly kept asking for Carlos to please come out of hiding and talk to us like adults and make the call at the desk we were at. We were then told he couldn't because his computer was "different and showed more info than the ones on front" umm ok? So we said fine we will go in the back where Carlos is and use his phone n computer screen to straighten this out. Ok here's the best part..... We were told "it's very busy and dangerous back there" my husband responds.. Is there a car on a jack waiting to fall on our heads??! He absolutely denied us a conference call and our issues weren't resolved until 2 days later when I contacted the collections agency and told them what I experienced ... She immediately called them .. Had me on line and spoke with Carlos who agreed to pay my over mileage like he should have in the first place! Bottom line it's a very shady place and they are hiding something or that conference call would have not been a problem! I have never ever been to a dealership like this and don't plan on ever going back.... Except with my attorney if I get one more letter. I plan on contacting the attorney generals office, better business bureau ( oh wait they were already reported to them) and vow to never ever do business with them again. I never once got an apology but surprisingly they expected me to thank them for "trying to help" the situation they put me in lol. Ummm thanks?

Excellent Customer Service

by nancy_ros on 08/30/2014

On August 26th I went to Dickson City Hyundai to purchase a car. I met with Michael M from sales. Michael was extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I left the dealer with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I am extremely happy with the purchase. Thank you Michael for such a great experience. I would also like to thank the whole team at Dickson City Hyundai for all their help and for being so professional. In the future, I would go back to them to purchase a car.

DO NOT BUY FROM DICKSON CITY HYUNDIA

by cf23 on 08/12/2011

just got home from a military detail from the desert. Went to buy a truck. Safety and quality issues (engine rattling, improper odometer/advertised mileage readings and other red flags) made me return the truck after less than 24 hours. Please note i did not find these issues during the test drive. Returned the truck exchanged it for a car. they kept the down payment on the truck ($4,000) and now I’m fighting to get it back. They didn’t put the 4000 dollars to the car and they said i had to put 2 grand more on the car. and prices are a rip off. DO NOT BUY FROM DICKSON CITY HYUNDIA!!!!!! you are warned

Waste of time!

by gjboch on 06/28/2011

This dealership tried to sell me a car for $1500 over MSRP, claiming pin striping, fabric protection, and glass etching was worth the added cost. Went to another dealer and got the same car for $2000 under invoice. Don't waste your time. They play all the silly sales games and unless your willing to pay MSRP you will not get a good deal.

Stear clear of this place

by waryshopper on 03/11/2010

My experience here pretty much mirrors the other reviews. We were saddled with a very inexperienced salesman who had to repeatedly refer back to his manager. They don't deal from the sticker down, they try and work up! Their Tires for Life program requires all servicing to be done pretty much at their dealership and is of no practical value. The pressure is on the minute you get there and is relentless throughout the time spent. They want to push add ons, protection plans and treatments and etc. This is the worst of the "old school" type of automobile dealership, interested only in how much they can squeeze out of a customer, no more. When we first came here, 2001, it had recently opened and was very, very different. It has changed and not for the better. There are other places to buy a Hyundai, I'm in the market for a new one and will check them out. I suggest you do the same and avoid this dealership.

by rosadosux on 11/25/2009

i purchased my santa fe in aug 08, i paid cash my salesman knew nothing he had to keep checking on everything.. i was misled on the tires for life program..second im supposed to have a 200 thousand mile 20 yr warranty what a joke.. no such thing,i was promised by one of the owners that my problems would all b resolved & there were many, they kept my suv a week now still not fixed & now stating not covered .. 3 different people told me it was being fixed & its not.. no one over there knows what they're doing, the vehicle is falling apart after one year & i get nothing but a runaround from them, i am in the process of retaining a lawyer & taking them to court... i do not recomend doing buisness with them at all...

You can buy a Hyundai elsewhere..........

by mdomante on 08/12/2008

I made this dealer my first stop due to their size and inventory. From the moment I stepped onto their property I felt like I was experiencing every horror story I ever heard about buying a car. It doesn't matter what they offered me for my trade, or what the price of the car was. I was not buying anything from a person who was such a [violative content deleted]. Especially in this day and age where I really want someone to appreciate my business. The sales man told me three times that they are the only Hyundai dealer in the area and the only one for hundreds of miles with so much inventory. I didn't care. I am not going to go into a long, drawn out story but I did find another, smaller dealer in which they really tried to listen to me. I had fun and no matter how financially good or bad my deal was, I left the other dealer in my new car feeling like I got a good deal and I left happy. Sometimes it's not about the money, it's about the person and people who you buy from. In fact, I left in a different color and different package that I intended just because I felt like I got a good value. I will never forget the experience I got here, I will let everyone know to be cautious if they go here. Maybe I just was the unlucky one to get a sales man on a bad day but "attitude is everything" and their sales man was their advertisement to me. Becareful

Purchasing a new Hyundai Tuscon at a fair price didn't happen here!

by whatzis on 09/12/2007

Being in the market for a new Hyundai Tucson, I went to this dealership in response to radio ads. The ads claimed that they were a large Hyundai dealer (they are). I spoke by phone with a salesman the previous day and he said to ask for him by name when I came. I arrived with my wife and 16 year old daughter and saw the salesman after about five minutes. Five minutes later he was free to show us the dealer stock. They did not have exactly what we wanted but he insisted that we pick one anyway and take the mandatory test drive even though I explained to him that I had already test drove this model elsewhere, was very impressed with Hyundai's Tucson and was intent on purchasing one if a deal could be struck and if they had the right vehicle. He said he could not go further with the sale unless I did the drive, so I did. When the drive was over we again looked around the lot and could find no Tucson that had a sunroof in a color that my wife and I liked. The salesman was not deterred. He then told us that for $1100.00 more than the limited's price he could have a hole cut in the roof and an aftermarket sun roof installed. A ‘reputable’ firm that does this would actually do the work and return the vehicle in 3 days. (Fat chance of my agreeing to an aftermarket sunroof when Hyundai offers it as a factory option!) I told him no. The salesman began to tell me about the dealership's "200,000 mile" warrantee and "tires for life". I explained to him that I do not buy cars based on "dealership warrantees" but was very impressed with Hyundai’s 100,000 mile/60,000 mile factory warrantee. It was now time for the salesman to give a trade in price for my 2006 Saturn VUE. It took three requests and my putting the Saturn keys into his hand to get him to finally do this. When he came back with an offer neither he nor anyone from his dealership had test drove the vehicle or even walked around the outside of it. My wife and daughter watched the Saturn VUE the whole time since it was 25 ft away from where we sat next to a plate glass window overlooking the lot. His "high end" number for a trade price was the low end of the blue book trade in value. I asked how he could determine a trade value without test driving the car. He did not have an answer except to state that I was trying to get more than its market value. I disagreed showing him the Bluebook numbers and pointing to the car that was in pristine condition and that was never test driven by him or anyone from his dealership. Now he makes an offer: Low end for my trade in and no more than the $1500.00 Hyundai factory incentive off of the Tucson’s price. I say no. He says to me, "Write your own deal!” after telling me how his dealership is the only one that allows this type of bargaining. I knew better but gave him an honest and fair “deal” nonetheless. All that I ask for was $2000.00 off of the sticker price plus a fair trade in for my vehicle. He then accused me of wanting to have the same payments with a new car as I had with the trade in car. Since the new car payment would have been $130/month more than I am currently paying, I have no idea how the salesman arrived at that conclusion. Later, his business manager accused me of the same thing so I assume this is a high pressure sales approach that the dealership uses when a customer "writes a deal" different than what the dealership wants. In a final attempt to sell the car, the salesman says that in 3 days he can have a Tucson LTD with the sunroof and color we want but we have to close the deal today on his financial terms. I decline and go to leave. In the parking lot the business manager tries a last attempt with no change in price. We drive to another dealership that sells Hyundai and they give a fair price for my trade-in plus $2500 off of the sticker price of the new vehicle. (They did test drive the trade in vehicle.) I purchase the Tucson LTD at this other dealership the same day that I visited Dickson City Hyundai. My overall impre
