onThese guys are the reason so many people hate the process of buying a new car. My first mistake was negotiating on a car they didn't have, and when they showed me a paper with the price for a car they'd "have in about a week," I noticed the price was way higher than MSRP for that model. When I questioned them about it, they revealed there was a $6,000 dealer markup (above MSRP). Once I regained consciousness, I realized I was at the wrong place and contacted a Beaverton dealer that agreed to sell me an identical car for $100 over invoice (about $8,000 less than Sheppard), and without any haggling. If you're a Costco member, do yourself a favor and take advantage of their auto-buying program, for which Sheppard is not a participating dealer. By the way, being forced to select at least one star for this dealer review suggests *some* satisfaction, which was not the case.
