Judge for Yourself

I hardly ever write reviews, but I felt obligated after what happened to me yesterday. Every year, I purchase one or two vehicles on average. So, I decided to look at this place for a fuel efficient TDI. After test driving/looking at the vehicle for 15 to 20 minutes, these people got extremely "pushy". Out of all my years I have never seen salesmen as bad as the ones here. All I wanted was a couple of hours, max, to do a little more research and get back with these people the day of. The sales reps wouldn't have it. They bombarded me with questions of why I would want to think about this purchase any further. In addition, they tried to guilt trip me into purchasing the car. "Why did you drive all the way over here if you weren't going to buy the car?" "Why did you say you would be willing to spend $XXX on the car if you weren't actually going to buy it right now. I went to my boss and got you what you wanted and now you are not going to buy it. That makes me look like an idiot when you are backing out of the deal." These are just a few of the remarks I received only after telling them that the car was overpriced and I needed it closer to retail value. I never agreed to anything and certainly didn't say I was going to buy the car right then and there. Keep in mind that this was 20 minutes after I looked at the car and zero paperwork or insinuation to start paperwork had been made. By the end of my visit, I had two sales reps on top of me berating me for not buying the car. Ridiculous. I have never in my life seen this kind of disrespect from a dealership. The second salesmen said to me, "Well people just don't go out to look at cars for fun, we don't do this for fun." Are you kidding me? I request just one day to think about a purchase and this is how customers are treated? Unsatisfactory. I simply replied, "I'm not here for fun", and walked out. All of the vehicles are marked up over retail, so you will have to deal through the haggling and unscrupulous tactics typical of a shady mom&pop operation just to get the price near retail. After doing the math, my car was marked up 15% over retail. My advice, drive a little farther down the road and skip the Fowler dealerships.

Customer Service at Fowler Volkswagen is the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced in years! Alex J. really listen to me and help me pick out the right car for me with no pressure! Alex answered all of my questions and was very honest with his facts. Chris H., gave me a very good and fair price and was professional, respectful and friendly. I like the way he thinks!!!! From the start to the end, I WAS IN VERY GOOD HANDS!!! I love my car!!!! Thanks and good job Mr. Fowler, for employing Alex J. and Chris H. !!!
