Predatory Lending Rates on Used cars

by Robert Owens on 01/07/2021

My daughter has not established a sufficient credit history, but she has no bankruptcies or non-payments on her record. She wanted to buy a used car for $6,500 (total with tax, title, etc.) by putting $2,000 down (had cash in hand) and financing the rest. Was told she could only put $500 down and finance to rest over 60 months at 28% interest ! ! ! I guess they were planning on dropping this rate if we balked, but we felt the initial offer was so disingenuous, she did not want to do business with this dealership.

Bunch of [non-permissible content removed]

by HyundaiOwner on 09/24/2017

These guys told me they have a car within my budget and called me to there store that same afternoon. I went there and Sales manager offered me a car 4000 USD over my budget. After I said what happened to our deal we spoke over phone. Then he said, "I cannot do it, take this deal or leave it".

Horrible experience

by anaira0212 on 04/26/2016

Had an awful experience trying to buy a brand new car. While the salesman, Micah, was friendly and professional, I cannot say the same about the financial manager Brian. He was extremely rude and condescending, and lied to us about our credit history and available rates. We walked away and bought a car at another dealer that had great customer service.

Great customer service

by Ukowpoe46 on 02/17/2016

Michael Silberman and team worked hard at getting me into a really nice vehicle. Learned that having a good credit score doesn't mean much if you have no credit history. Didn't no that. Finance officer really explained everything clearly.

Our salesperson Rodney was excellent. Personable and very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend him to anyone interested in buying a car at Sports Durst. The Financial Representative we dealt with was also personable and knowledgeable.

What Are You Waiting For

by Cali_girl2001 on 01/19/2016

Rodney Hearndon is absolutely amazing. He went over the purchasing process step by step. Once my loan was approved, he went over all the features of my car hands on. He is such an asset to your company. The sales/ finance manager ( sorry cant remember his name) was fabulous also. He was so up beat and kept me abreast of what was going on with the loan process. He went over each piece of paper work. I had heard about Sport Durst from an ad on the radio and how they have helped people with low credit scores. The experience was amazing and I am not only happy with my new car but impressed with the dealership as a whole.

Two purchases in two months

by ncdeziner on 05/09/2015

I purchased a 2014 Santa Fe Limited in 11/14. The vehicle sold itself upon the test drive, but the salesman (Rodney Herndon) and the support staff, made this purchase the best I have had in 20 years. Three days after taking possession of the Santa Fe, it was totaled when T-boned by another driver. As I was put into an ambulance, EMS kept repeating that the air bags saved my life and that they were the best they had seen. From the scene of the accident, my husband called Rodney Herndon and asked him to get another Santa Fe just like the one destroyed. Rodney did so, then let me change my mind on which Santa Fe I wanted (I upgraded to a 2015 Santa Fe Ultimate), and was amazingly accommodating while I waited for the insurance settlement. After 20 years of purchases of Chevrolet SUV's from another dealer, I am now a committed Sport Durst customer.

Don't bother

by poorracer on 12/15/2013

This is one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with. First of all, I don't understand why one price quote request from their site leads to an avalanche of calls and emails from 5 different people from the dealership. I understand communication from maybe two people, one sales person and probably one who is a manager of some sorts. The fact that you are communicating with another sales person in the same dealership also don't stop the other people from harassing you with calls and emails every hour. And on top of that, the sales person offered a high-volume car at $400 below MSRP insulting customers intelligence and knowledge. A quick google search and a peek at any number of sites like Edmunds tells the customers that these cars go below or close to invoice price before applying any customer incentives. When I told the sales person about another quote I already have and asked them if they could sell the car at a price lower than that... she comes back with BS comments like nobody could sell you that car for that price etc... (implying that I was lying). No need to say that I bought the car from another dealer. After seeing all the traditional sales tactics, decided not to visit the dealership at all, let along buying a car from them. Ravi

Hyundai is a great car company and Sport Durst Hyundai a great dealership

by nageswararao on 10/08/2011

My 2008 Honda Accord EX-L was stolen. Initially tried purchasing another Honda, but put off by the arrogance of Honda company and the fear that Accord is an easy target for thieves. Checked several dealerships and found Sport Durst Hyundai is a no pressure dealership. The sales rep Terry McCoy was laid back, direct and honest. Ended up buying Hyundai Sonata, partly because of Terry. Hyundai has better technology than Honda and Sonata is much superior to Accord in performance.
