Altima 3.5SL Lease
by hwill1 on Mon Apr 21 16:29:04 PDT 2008
First, I want to say 'thanks' to all for sharing information here. I had never leased a vehicle and learned much here and at LeaseGuide.com. It greatly helped me understand the process and hopefully make a good deal. I negotiated & signed the following lease at Lake Manawa Nissan in Council Bluffs, IA (just across from west Omaha, NE where I live). 36 mo. / 12K mi lease on Altima 3.5 SL MSRP = $29,315 total [$28,380 + $135 (spl gds) + $175 (flr mats) + $625 (dest.) ] MF = 0.00122 and 59% Residual = $17,295.85 Adj Cap Cost = $27,666 which included: ($595 Acq Fee + $17 Title & Tire Fee) This got me into a monthly payment of $342.91 w/o taxes. At 5.5% tax where I live in NE, put me at $361.77 total monthly. My drive off was $361.77. They waived the security deposit ($350) due to good credit. They had a $179 doc fee but after negotiation, seems they waived that and then some (like $105 to get to the adj cap cost I wanted) so I could drive off at $342/mo. Plus, they found the color I wanted in KC and are swapping with a dlr there at no additional cost. Feel OK about it as it seems like just under invoice. Thx again CarMan and others.
Re: Dealer Doc Fees [adnips]

I got a quote yesterday from an Atlanta dealer who wanted $599 in doc fees.. that's the highest I've seen yet. Here in SC, the doc fees seem to be between $299 and $399 which is still outrageous .. My answer to that when they say they can't do anything about the doc fees is, "OK then lower the sell price"... I think $100 bucks for doc fees is reasonable if they are finding you financing otherwise it's a ridiculous profit maker.
Just picked up a 2009 SL FWD with nav and blue tooth

Just had an awesome experience with State Line Nissan in Kansas City. Total price out the door was $34,702.55. Does not include tags, taxes or license. Also got 5.99% financing from dealer. Transaction was easy, no pressure tactics, no arrogance, super-professional atmosphere. Splash guards Dual Panel Moonroof Premium Package Technology Package Floor Mats Cargo Area Protector with Flip-Up Function (great for groceries) Roof Rack Cross Bars Nav Leather Package Pinstriping (didn't ask for that...just came that way) TMV indicates full MSRP in our area, so I think the deal was OK. Also, the dealer had to get the car from about 275 miles away. Regardless of the make of car, it seems that everything sent to KC is AWD and we really didn't want it because we will tow this vehicle behind a motorhome in a couple of years.

Re: What did you pay for '08 w/Tech Package? [langjie]

That seems to be the neighborhood for the top-o-the-line NAH. We paid right in the same area (can't remember exactly). Have seen roughly the same price, give or take for others that have gotten a pretty good deal. The 24K Mazda6 paid wouldn't have been for a Tech Package w/leather. There's a mid-range package called the Connection Package that probably is in that price range. The car is really a blast to drive. I've driven Priuses, and found them to be, well, boring. Yeah, you feel good about saving gas, but geeky at the same time. It's particularly fun when someone is tailgating you, because they see the "hybrid" badge on the NAH trunk, and think they're following an anemically powered gas sipper. You stomp the pedal, and not even very hard, and, like Clark Kent, the car turns from a mild mannered transporter into something that feels like it is able to leap tall buidlings. I've seen more than one tail gater with a look of surprise on their face... ;) Still getting used to a "no shift" transmission, but so far it behaves very well except in one case. On long downhills out of mountains, the car uses the engine to regenerate power (charge the battery). Once the battery is charged, the engine seems to overspeed, as the load is released by the computer. A slight pressure on the gas pedal stops the overspeeding sound, and slows the engine a bit...probably OK, but seems odd. No worries with us about the light-colored headliner. We used to have a car with a dark headliner, and on hot summer days, it would radiate heat for 10 minutes after the car got underway, until the AC could battle the heat into submission. Our experience with the headliner and moon roof is that we can get in the car, crack the moon roof at the rear (press the moonroof switch on the "closed" side, even if it's already closed) , run the AC, and the heat rises out of the car within a minute or so. Someone at Nissan was using their noggin.

It is OTD price. Then, is this one OK? Should I continue haggling? Seems dealers are not enthusiastic about it.
