onWhen you go out to look for a new (or used) car, ask yourself:
Do I want to work with someone who is going to sell me a car or someone who is going to help me buy a car?
If you want someone to sell you a car, there are plenty of places to go that wont let you leave until youve signed on the dotted line.
Good luck with that.
Personally, I prefer to go somewhere the salespeople are trying to help me buy a car.
I want to work with someone that will have a conversation with me, provide me information, help me see the value in my options and who is patient enough to let me have time to think about my choice before making a decision.
If youre looking for a Mazda in Rochester, NY -
stop in and have a conversation with Judy L. at Mazda of West Ridge.
If you decide youd rather have someone *sell* you, theres always those places that will take your keys so they can inspect your trade-in...but are awfully slow getting them back to you...or maybe a place that wants to give you a 10 minute presentation on how they like to do business when all you wanted to do was sit in a car for a couple minutes to get the feel of it...or even a mega-dealership where you feel like you should be taking a number on the way in the door as if buying a car were no different than hitting up the deli counter.
If you would rather get the information and guidance you need to buy the right car at a decent price without the theatrics, I think youd be happy working with Judy.

UPDATE:
Ended up purchasing a Mazda6.
It was great working with a team that didn't constantly pressure me to buy, buy, buy.
Great experience
