Not a Happy Customer

by Hilltop on 01/12/2018

What a Joke, Not one person in this entire dealership knows what anyone is doing. They could care less about the customer as long as they sell a vehicle. 1st I go looking for a van for work. I knew what I could afford and after looking at the ProMasters. They sign me up for business link which is nice as I do not have wait for service I work 12 to 14 hour days. This was a turn on for me. After taking one for a test drive we come to an agreement on a price. I was told to come back 1st thing in the morning and my Van would be ready for me. My wife and I were there at 9am, by 3:00pm I still have not seen the finance department yet. They kept telling my that they were waiting for paperwork. Finally go in at 4:30pm and this [non-permissible content removed] gives me a price way higher than we agreed upon. So I tell him that is not going to happen. I got up and walked out. The salesman comes chasing me down. Now mind you I have wasted 2 full days and still no van. The GM comes out I forget his name but he was European. Asked if he will give me a few minutes to see what he can do. By now it is 6pm comes out and gives me the same price as we agreed upon. Just before he came back my phone blows up about someone checking my credit score. I quick looked into my credit score was 780 when this [non-permissible content removed] was done it was 510. I told him about it. The then told me after the first 2 payment it will be back were it was. Nope 4 months latter it is still in the 500’s. So almost 8pm and I get my van. priority I go in for my first oil change and they asked if I had an appoint. I said no that I am a Business Link customer and I do not need an appointment. That was at 8:30am I figured I would get it done before work. The guy tells it won’t be done until after 5pm. I ask to speak with the GM and Mike comes out and says that I need an appointment. I set the appointment up for the following week. I tell the service guy that I was a Business Link customer and why I had to make an appointment. He told that I didn’t. So again not to happy. You all at Joe Cecconi’s need to get on the same page. Not a very happy customer

Not good

by Ka14141 on 08/23/2016

This place is a joke. I took my brother here at 10am on a Saturday, because he wanted to look at a truck he saw on their website. I never even thought of buying a vehicle myself, as I don't have the best credit. While waiting for my brother I started wandering around and was almost immediately approached by a salesman. After some small talk I told him I wasn't really looking because I had bad credit, plus I didn't really need a car. He asked me what it would take to get me to buy one. I laughed and said I'd buy an SUV if he could keep it under $300 a month with no money down. He said something I didn't understand and hurried off. He found me about 20 minutes later and said he can do that. I was shocked. I was in disbelief so I asked for him to put it in writing. He did (luckily) and we both signed it. After looking at a bunch of used cars I was really liking a Hyundai Santa Fe. I noticed it had a dime sized dent that was rusty, so I asked if he could get that fixed. Again he mumbled something incoherent and wandered off. Half hour later he comes back and says don't worry about the rust, I can get you into a brand new Jeep Compass. I never really cared much for the look of them, but it's brand new, and given my credit situation I was kind of excited. I took one for a drive and was actually rather impressed. Much nicer than my 02 Grand Am. I told him I wanted either a white, black, or grey one. They had lots of red and green ones, and one white. He gave me the keys to it and told me to drive it around the lot. While I was doing this he had my Grand Am appraised. I wandered all over the lot twice and couldn't find it. Then he looked for it. Then several other people looked for it. Nobody could find it. By this time it was after 5pm. He had me fill out some more paperwork and told me to come back at 9am tomorrow and they would have the car there all ready to go. I'd just have to sign and drive away. He also said they would give me $1000 for my Grand Am. I was disappointed because book value for it is almost $2500. It's a loaded GT model in terrific condition. So I leave. Get there Sunday morning at 9am. Surprise, they don't open until 10. But the salesman is there too. Apparently he forgot what time they open. Seriously!? Wtf. But at least "my" new white Jeep is there and ready to go. 10am comes and in we go. More sitting and waiting. I'm finally called into tI sign the paperwork. Manager is going over everything and tells me my monthly payment will be $429! Excuse me?? I tell him the salesman told me it will be under $300. Manager looks at me like I'm crazy and says he's sorry but they can't do that. I told him I had that in writing. Again I get that look. Then he goes through my folder and sees the paper that myself and the salesman signed. He slams the folder closed, swears a few times, apologizes, and storms out. A few minutes later I hear a very loud, but muffled conversation between him and the salesman. Salesman then comes in and apologizes, tells me he was "misinformed" and that they cannot honor our deal, then leaves. Manager comes back in. I tell him that I'm baffled and more than a little upset. I also mention that since the salesman wrote that down and we both signed it, that it's legally a binding contract (glad I took those business law classes in college). Manager asks me to leave his office for a moment. About an hour later he hands me a set of keys to a one year old Patriot, points it out, and asks me if I'd like to go look at it. I did. I liked it. More than the Compass. He tells me it's ready to go and I could have it for $300 a month, no money down. Also that it was prepped to go to someone else, but that buyer backed out so it was ready to go. Sign lots of papers. Then go to lobby to wait for the keys and registration. After about 2 hours I asked the salesman what was the wait. He tells me that the car needs to be inspected. I told him it already was inspected, and point out the new sticker on the windshield. He tells me that it's not valid because it was inspected for another buyer, not me. I was confused and bewildered. By this time it's after 3pm. I asked him how long that would take. He said it wouldn't be until Tuesday because there were no "inspection shops" open, and it was Labor Day weekend. I asked him what I'm supposed to do. They already took my old car. I also questioned the current inspection and why they couldn't inspect it themselves. He said a car has to be inspected for the individual buying it and that they can't do it there because it would be a "conflict of interest". He then tells me I'll have to get a ride home (I live in Buffalo), then come back Tuesday. I was pissed. I told him. He said "don't blame me, it's the crazy State laws". I called my girlfriend for a ride. Waited an hour for her to get there. Give minutes after I get home someone from the dealer calls me and asks where I am and when I'm taking my car. I explained what happened. They tell me I "must have misunderstood". Anger doesn't begin to describe my feelings. I get a ride back there. The salesman sees me coming in and is gone like a shot. A very friendly woman apologizes for any confusion and hands me my keys. In the end, I did get a car that I really like for the price that I wanted to pay. But really? I wasted my entire holiday weekend haven't been that angry, confused, or bewildered in a very long time.

Bad Sales Bad Financing .. [non-permissible content removed]

by cwithey93 on 09/17/2014

First time car buyer from a dealer an Gary C. roped me into a 2006 jeep commander that undoubtedly i wanted. initially i was going to trade my vehicle in but they low balled me with a 500 dollar value so i sold it to put 1000 own on the jeep. i "financed" this vehicle on August 15th 2014 and was extremely happy. I started noticing issues withe the transmission not even two days after having it. Brought it out 3 to 4 times before they finally said there is something wrong. They had to replace the whole transmission which "wasn't covered due to lemon law of miles" but they still fixed it. this put a lot of miles on the vehicle driving back and forth from buffalo to Niagara falls 3 to 4 times before finally fixing the issue. now it is September 17th 2014 an I have not received a payment booklet to start my payments on the vehicle with my grandmother being the cosigned she told me to call and figure out why i haven't received anything yet when i was told i was approved for the loan and finance. I called the dealer (GARY C.) and he said maybe they are giving it to you for free...trying to joke but it wasn't funny. so today i called SEFCU where my "loan" was supposedly out of. gave the woman on the phone all my information and she said i had no account with them and neither did my grandmother.. put me on hold and when she returned said i was denied a week ago... I signed loan and financing paperwork and was told i was approved now since there is no finance in place they want to up my interest rate to try to get me approved.. I am a single mother who works two jobs and goes to school full time it is already hard for me to make these payments let alone to raise them.. I cant afford that. This dealer used the "yo yo scam". He had no feeling towards his customer just the money he was going to get out of the sale and was really pushy with everything. working 2 jobs and going to school and raising a 3 year old i need my vehicle to support us. this dealer lied to me and used number and sales scams to lead me into a purchase that was NEVER approved and i had no idea because i was told it was approved.

Above and Beyond

by bahs13 on 03/15/2014

Julian S. went above and beyond all of my expectations. My wife and I went to Joe Cecconi's with intentions of looking for a new truck. We were very specific of what we wanted. Julian S. not only met our criteria but he was very honest and changed my perception of what a car salesman really is.

Thanks Chris G.

by FirstCar111 on 02/24/2014

I just bought my first car ever at Joe Cecconis. My Salesman was extremely helpful, courteous and honest. Chris assisted me in finding the right car (that fits my budget and lifestyle) and the finance manager helped me get payments that I could afford. Because of this, I have a great car, a dealership I can trust, I'm building my credit and now have reliable and safe transportation.

good sales bad accounting

by aweman on 01/08/2014

Purchased a used vehicle Dec 19, 2013 and traded in a vehicle with a balance due. The trade in was to have been paid off by Joe Cecconi's. It is now Jan. 8, 2014 and the balance on the trade-in has yet to be paid even though the funds from the new lender have been received. Now getting notices from the old lender and my credit could be adversely affected.

king of tricks and gimmicks

by dswiss on 01/04/2012

got a mailer from them, offering me $1500 over KBB value of my car because they were"short of used cars". KBB trade-in value for my car was $3000, so we went there expecting $4500 for the car. After sitting for over 4 hours at the dealership, he came back and offered$1500. We were insulted to put it mildly. If they would have told us that before writing up the entire deal, we could have all saved us 4 hours!

Updated Customer Feedback

by mikej15 on 08/15/2011

Updated review on Cecconi: So a few days later after writing this reveiw. The salesmen and manager at Joe Cecconis contacted me. Intially I thought they contacted me becasue of the reveiw I had posted but after discussing things with the manager and salesmen I felt there was a genuine concern for my sitaution and everyone was diligent in the efforts to help me out. The Manager had no prior knowledge that I had left there very un-happy and displeased with my expericne at his complex. He apologized for my expercinece and asured me something would be done. They where able to qualify me for a brand new 2011 Dodge Caravan at a lower payment than what I was paying before. I watched these gentlemen really grind it out in order to help me out. Needless to say I was very happy this time around because of the service.

Getting Screwed at Joe Cecconi's

by raymond39 on 06/16/2011

On august 28th 2010 I walked into Joe Cecconi's looking to purchase an suv with third row seating. I had just filed for bankrucpy a year earlier so my credit score was poor. I had $2,300 dollars to put down on a vehicle that I had received from an insurance claim when my previous car was stolen. While I was there the first car that I test drove stalled when I reached my home to show my wife. I should have noticed that as a sign of things to come. I did not like the vehivle that I test drove but back on the lot they had just receieved a trad-in for 2006 Mercury Mountainer. It had every thing I wonted. I over heard the managers saying it would be hard to sell with the paint damage done inside the vehicle. So I told them I would take it as is if the can get me finaced for it. So quickly the fianced me in a high interest rate, and took my full deposit. After the first the the transmission was sticking. I brought it in and they fixed it. 9 months later I had to repair the front end, replace the alternator, horn, and wiring which worked out to be about $1,800 in work. My mechanic at Firestone proceeded to tell me that I had one of my head gaskets has air coming from it and will eventually blow. So I choose to go back to Joe Cecconi's to look to trade the truck back in for something of equal or lesser value even though I felt like I deseverd more. They tried to push me into a brand new vehicle and get another cash depsosit from me also take the truck back for $3,000 less than the blue book value of 13,000 because of the repairs needed. So I had no money down, My credit score that I had been building back up dropped because of the $1,800 in repairs that I got credit from Firestone to have fixed and they where trying to screw me for they value of the truck even though I know it was worth more. I awsomed they would try to do something seeing how it has only been 9 months since the intial purchase and I was fincially strapped becuase of the purchase and recent repairs I was wrong. I went online to check there website and saw that they had a few mini van for sale around $9,000 and when I suggested an even trade they would not even consider it. To shorten up my story I am now stuck with a lower credit score that I had begun building back up. About $4,000 out in cash from the deposit and repairs and I have a car that the engine could go at anytime and I have no money to repair it. Did I mention I only purchased the car 9 months ago?

Great Price

by dmr104 on 02/27/2011

I just purchased a new 2011 Nitro. Alex was my sales person and he was very nice. I was skeptical going in b/c of reviews I have read however they did prove the reviews wrong, I had a fairly pleasant experience overall. They did have a mistake in the beginning but they fixed all the problems and got me into a great car for a fabulous price! The sales manager Mike was a pleasure to work with as well. I would recommend purchasing a new vehicle from them anytime based on my own personal experience.

Will never Purchase from this Dealer again, (Beware)

by stanger1379 on 04/09/2010

I had negative feelings about this dealership to begin with, but thought that maybe they have changed from all the bad stories I have heard about them from the past. Well shame on me, they had not changed at all! I had a Dodge Journey that I had bought a year earlier and wanted to trade in for a Jeep Liberty. I did my homework, and new that their were rebates that would have ended on the last day of the month, so I figured I would give them a try, what a mistake!!!!!!!!! I wanted a Jeep Liberty with a Tow package, V-6, Cruise, and power. What I got after sitting at the sales desk for over 5 hours was a Liberty with the roll back top, no cruise, and no tow package. The salesman, whom I knew slightly, told me he would take care of me, well, let's just say he took care of me. I have since spoke to the General Manager, and everyone in between, and I am still very un-happy with this dealership, and will do everything in my power (legally) to bad mouth them and their operation. They only care about the sales out the door, and nothing after. Beware of their sales tactics if you go, and sign nothing, don't change your insurance as they like you too before you see the vehicle you are purchasing, and make sure if you go, that you have the salesman go over every inch of the vehicle before you buy. Now I know that I own a little of the responsibility myself, as I trusted the salesman to do the right thing, but as I stated earlier, never again will I set foot in this dealership for any reason whatsoever, unless they do right by their wrongs. I have worked with Northtown Dodge before, and that is where I will go for all of my service and future purchases.

not what I expected at all

by jonjon303 on 08/27/2009

I was looking to buy a 2006 Jeep grand Cherokee and drove 2 hours from Rochester NY to see them. They had ok sales in person but when I went back home it was the worst I have ever dealt with. The dealer did not return my call and would not pick up my phone calls on the last day. I was told that I could pick up the vehicle on sat and had an appointment at 230. Everything was suppose to be taken care of Friday but come sat they still needed information. I gave them all the information the dealer requested and was waiting for the response and answer and it never came. I called back and the dealer told me there closed. Monday was now the day I was suppose to pick up the vehicle. I spoke to the dealer again and she said she had all the information that she needed and will call me as soon as she can with an answer today. When I called them I spoke to someone else because they said my dealer was busy and they told me I needed more information from my cosigner. I called my brother my cosigner and he told me my dealer said she had all the information and will let us know if we need more information. So i called back and asked to speak to her and they said she went home for the day when there suppose to close at 9 and it was only about 6 in the evening. I was upset and sad at the same time. I don't understand why they had to keep [violative content deleted] me. I would have rather been told the truth and wait instead of expecting to get the truck 3 days in a row and feeling like Christmas and not getting anything and barely any answer. They never told me nothing. My credit is not the best but its at beginners level but my cosigner brings me to a good level. But there guaranteed approval couldn't apply because they never told me anything!!! I just wanna let people know that this dealership is not a good one and you will have a much better experience going to another one.

Worst Dealership In WNY

by buffalogeek on 01/04/2008

Back in September, I was fresh off an incredibly unpleasant purchase of a Jeep from Joe Cecconi's Chrysler Complex on Military Road in Niagara Falls. This is what I had to say then: The customer service at Joe Cecconi’s Five Star Chrysler Complex is no better than One Star. We traded in the old Jeep for a new one and my beloved Kane Doyle Jeep has recently closed its doors, thus forcing us into the arms of Mr. Cecconi. Not a pleasant experience. If you need to buy a Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler, I’d recommend you go somewhere else. The salesman was disorganized, the sales manager couldn’t find my car for three days, and the entire experience was just a mess. What follows is a lengthy dissertation on awful customer service and is written for the sole purpose of my personal venting. The purchase process was a mere prelude to the incredible rudeness, arrogance, and outright lying that I have had to deal with over the past couple of days. Absolutely incredible. When we purchased our vehicle, John Simone (our salesman), only provided us with one key to the vehicle. In the morass of waiting several hours to close our sale with the finance guy, wrangling the baby, dealing with my wife who was on the verge of burning the dealership to the ground, and other general nonsense...the fact that he only gave me one key went unnoticed. If you have purchased a car in the last five years, you'll know why having only one key can be difficult. The key has a computer chip in it which works with the ignition and also has the remote lock/unlock functionality built into it. These keys can be a bit pricey, usually $300 retail. So, after a day or so, I called Cecconi's Chrysler to inform them that I needed the second key to the vehicle. After leaving seven voicemails over four days with my salesman and the sales manager, I was informed that they couldn't find my key, but I was welcome to make a service appointment to get a new one cut and programmed at their cost. I called the service department and was told the soonest I could get in was 37 days later. Ugh. I made the appointment and moved on with the day to day. In the interim, I filled out three separate customer service surveys with Chrysler which rated my buying experience at Cecconi's as the worst of my adult life. I received calls from Chrysler in which I informed them that this was absolutely the last Chrysler I ever intended to lease/purchase and it was totally due to the ineptitude and rudeness of the dealership. Piss me off? Well...a VERY nasty customer survey pox upon your house, Mr. Man! HARUMPH!#! Lame, I know. But I had no other recourse after taking delivery of the vehicle. You take what you can get in life. Of course, I was sent out of town for a training class during the week of the appointment and I had to reschedule at the last minute and I was told it would be another two months before I could get in. I was incensed. To make this portion of the story shorter, I decided to just move through life with only one key to the vehicle and just forget about it. I filed it under "to be taken care of when I was less irritable", so 2023 would probably be the date for that. Bored yet? Stick with me, it's about to get a little more entertaining. My wife primarily drives the new Jeep as she transports the baby more often than I do, thus, I decided to get her a remote starter for this Christmas. I thought it would be nice if she could start the Jeep and let it warm up past 3 degrees in the morning when se is taking the baby out. Yeah, I'm thoughtful, it's how I roll. My appointment to have the starter installed was this morning at Custom Radio in Amherst. Upon arrival, I was informed that they would be unable to install the starter I purchased in December without two keys. If one key is lost, well, the car probably will not start without some huge cost to me at Jeep and with them. So, I decided today was the day I would take a jaunt up to visit my good buddies at Cecconi's Chrysler Complex a
