by SAyoubThanx on 10/13/2015

I had a great experience at Morehead Honda. Conrad Miller was extremely professional, kind, and most of all honest. I ended up leasing a new 2015 Civic, and I love it. Thank you.

Ask for Conrad

by jpiano102 on 09/30/2015

I had a great experience purchasing a used Toyota Venza from Morehead Honda. Conrad Miller was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. He helped me get a great deal and continued to be extremely helpful even after the deal was done. I wish more companies placed as much emphasis on customer service as Conrad and Morehead Honda. If you are looking to purchase a car, be sure to ask for Conrad.

Buying a Certified Honda Pilot

by dave1970 on 08/30/2015

David Le Roy NY 14482 08/01/2015 Mr. Higgins General Manager 1000 Auto Park Place Newburgh NY 12550 Dear Mr. Higgins I thought I would write you about an experience I had at Morehead Honda on Friday 8/14/15 at approximately 2:00pm and many hours later. I owned business years ago and I thought that I would pass it on. I live near Rochester NY and wanted to purchase a vehicle, 2011 Certified Honda Pilot that I viewed over the web. I called and spoke many times with your salesmen’s Alonzo Taylor-Ruiz. I requested that Alonzo personally check the vehicle several times, so that my wife and I do not take a day off from work and travel 10 hours to pick-up a problematic vehicle. I received several confirmations that the vehicle was in premier shape. I checked the rating of your dealership and it was very good, so I trusted the salesperson. Upon arriving I met with Mr. Taylor-Ruiz. Upon checking the vehicle I observed major damage to the exterior, passenger lower front door and the upper post near the passenger door. I also observed the following: Second Row Seat would not lock to the rear, which I would assume would be a safety issue, broken molding on carpet, just laying on floor and that several leather seats were dirty (no big deal, just a little disappointing). I’ve purchased several certified Honda’s from Dealers and everything is checked interior and exterior. I thought Honda required this check to certify the vehicle? I was very disappointed and upset that Mr. Taylor did not check the vehicle or disclosed the damage to me. I asked Mr. Taylor why he had not told me about the damage and he did not respond or apologize. Mr. Taylor contracted another person to get involved; I think it was Mr. Bray/Sales Manager. Mr. Bray and Mr. Taylor offered the following solutions: • They would repair the damage and ship the car to me. I did not feel comfortable at this point feeling that the salesmen had lied to me several times and did not disclose the damage. I did not want to pay for a vehicle and trust that everything will be repaired when it was delivered. I don’t think any rational person would take this option. • They offered me 500.00 off the price and I would get the repair fixed myself. I am not a collision man, but did not feel this would cover the cost. They both assured me this would cover the cost of repair. I was still unconvinced. They made me another offer of taking 1000.00 off the price but continued to feel this would not cover the repair. After they both assured me that this would be enough money to repair the vehicle, I still was doubtful but wanted to believe them. Mr. Taylor made a good proposal, that I could bring the vehicle to a collision shop in the area to determine the cost of repair. Mr. Taylor asked me to agree if the price was different from the 1000.00 that Morehead offered, that I would reduce the allotment provided to me. I agreed that if the price was different it would be OK. Mr. Taylor told one of your support staff members to ride to the shop with us to get an estimate. Mr. Taylor named the shop, which I was apprehensive about, but continued to trust your dealership. I, my wife and one of your support staff went to the shop. The owner was at the shop and estimated the cost would be $1500.00 at the least and typically around $2000.00. After returning to the shop, they Mr. Bray stated that they would not reduce the price to cover the repairs. To me it’s unbelievable, you pick the shop, you made me verbally commit to take a body shop estimate that I don’t even know, and then when the estimate comes in higher you don’t have the honor to be committed to the estimate. • Mr. Bray gave us a 25.00 gift card in the parking lot upon leaving. I was so upset I threw the gift card in the parking lot. How can you accept business practice like this? • In my mind it all started with the salesmen’s not taking the time to check the vehicle. If he would have told me about the damage, we would have not made the trip and taken the time off. Upon leaving your shop, we went to --------- Honda and purchase 2011 Certified Honda Pilot in perfect shape and it was clean. Was in and out within 1 ½ hours. I don’t think this happens all the time, because your ratings are good and may be a few rogue employees that are not trained properly. If you sell a vehicle at cost once, would be better than having customers leave legitimately upset. I think if this happened to you, you would be distraught also. Thanks for your attention. Sincerely, David David

Disappointed Sales Process

by jv123 on 12/07/2012

I went to this Honda dealership, since it is closer than the others, to purchase the SUV. I thought the process would go well, but should have suspected something was wrong upon a few issues. First, I asked for quotes online and never got one from this dealership, but all others give them out without an issue. Second, when going through the negotiating phase (No quote or price on a car given, just MSRP) they only gave me the payment amount, nothing in regard to how much the trade in would be or the price of the new SUV. It was like pulling teeth to get the pricing and the sales person kept saying that he didn't have the information, but that his sales manager knew the information. Why such a secret??? I asked several times for this information and was just frustrated that everything was so secretive. Just be upfront with your consumers and provide good customer service. I have dealt with another Honda Dealership in the past and they would provide all of the information on pricing, etc... on paper and would give it to you. No secrets, Upfront and work with you to make the best deal. Not this dealership. I bought the SUV, but doubt I'll go back to this dealership for the next sale.

What an pleasant experience

by jvpeters132 on 12/04/2012

For the first time in my life I enjoyed buying a car. No hassles, no hidden fees, no pushy sales pitch. Just a nice and easy car purchase. Went in after a little bit of research and was met with a professional and courteous sales department. Car was ready when promised with the exact color and model I requested. They also gave the best price around for the tri state area. Believe me when I say tri state area. Brewster Honda was a close 2nd, but 2nd isn't 1st. The briefing on the car, during pick up, by the sales person reminded me of the good old days when a car saleman knew his product. I will go back there for service as well. John P.

Great Experience

by mgayton on 04/02/2012

We had a great experience at Morehead Honda. Would definitely recommend the dealership. The finance guy was a little pushy and seemed personally offended when we didn't get the extended warranty.

Purchase of Pre-Owned Accord

by cwhiv on 04/02/2012

My wife and I recently purchased a Pre-owned 2010 Honda Accord from Morehead Honda. We traded in a 2006 Pontiac Torrent SUV. We had a very good buying experience. We got exactly what we wanted for our trade-in and the price for the Accord was right according to the research we performed prior to visiting the dealership. At the time of purchase there was only one key available for the car but our salesman, Rich Murray, promised us a 2nd key which we got a week later. We also noticed after having the car for 2 weeks that one tire had significantly more wear than the other 3 which were like new. We called Rich and he arranged to have the tire replaced at no cost to us with no questions asked. So far we cannot be more pleased with our experience with Morehead Honda. Our Accord does have a Sun Visor that won't stay up which we have to let them know about. If they take care of that, I'll give them 6 stars!

Dont trust the salemen.

by vcapo on 03/21/2008

Last year I went to Morehead Honda to buy a CR-V. I did all my research and even brought printouts of quotes from the KBB, NADA, and Edmunds TMV report. The guy priced the car at $2000 over the quotes and said that websites are no good and not reliable indicators of real market values. Then they played the numbers game with me by having the sales guy run to a back room every time I made a counteroffer and came back with some ridiculous number written on a piece of paper. When they were done negotiating, the last number had a circle around it. Give me a break! Then the "closer" came out and tried to seal the deal by bashing the websites, and the local in town competition. He then presented me with a series of financing packages that not even a person with a math degree could understand. Needless to say, I left and drove to Middletown Honda, where just two hours later, I had bought the car. I still paid $500 dollars over my quote, but it was $1500 dollars cheaper than Morehead Honda and they didnt play any games with me. Moral of the story.. when the dealer starts with "fuzzy math" and games, walk away..

Unreliable and Dangerous Dealer

by silvers000 on 11/05/2007

I purchased a 2001 Civic HX in March of 2007. It has a CVT transmission, which is supposed to be more reliable and more gas efficient than a regular transmission. When I test drove the car, I noticed a slight hesitation when accelerating from a stop. The salesman told me that it was supposed to be like that because of the type of transmission and that if it feels like it is slipping just punch the gas and it will be fine. I assumed he just didn't know anything about cars because you shouldn't do that if the transmission is slipping. So, long story short, I ended up buying the car and haven't really had any problems except for the slight hesitation. I got a letter in the mail last week saying that there is a recall on something inside the transmission. So I took it to the a dealer in the area. While looking up the recall in his computer, the service manager noticed that my car had 3 previous recalls for other problems, all before I purchased it from Morehead. They didn't repair any of the recalls. One of them is a recall of a fuel line clamp that has been known to slip off and catch fire! Another one was a part in the transmission that would have stopped the acceleration hesitation! They repaired non of these recalls prior to selling the car. I would recommend staying away from this dealer. They will say anything to sell a car and do not care about the safety of the cars they sell.
