Great deal and pet friendly!

This is my second Subaru from this dealership and I've had an outstanding experience both times! I traded in my 2010 Forester for a 2017 and I could not be happier. I got a great deal and price for my trade. They're also pet friendly! I brought my dog along for the ride and my salesperson treated him with water and threw in a Subaru bandanna for coming back. I moved an hour and a half away, but traveling back north to get my next Subaru was well worth it and I will continue to do so. Highly recommend for friends and family! I was also in and out in two hours, smooth sailing. Thank you!

I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership, and I would not purchase from them again in the future. I recommend that you do not purchase from them as well. The dealership is very unorganized. Necessary paperwork is often lost or responsible parties are unreachable. In addition if you do purchase from this dealership, I would recommend that any extras that you have negotiated with the dealer be delivered to you in full at the time of delivery of the vehicle. If that means you need to put a deposit on your dream car and wait for a few weeks for the dealer to come through then do it. I was purchasing a slightly used Subaru and was given a WE OWE document at the point of sale for some items that the dealership promised they would deliver. It's been several months now and they have yet to complete the sale with me. Each time I call I am given a different excuse for why the part did not come in. Don't make the same mistake I did and do avoid this place.

Any potential buyer who plans to use the Costco Auto Buying Service should avoid this dealer. They falsely cliamed to me that they participated in that program. Even took down my Costco membership number during the transaction. They'll show you pricing that they say is the Costco pricing, but you never get to see anything formal. I contacted Costco after the sale only to learn that this dealer does not participate in their Auto Buying program, and that this dealer would not have access to the Costco entitled price in that case. I also traded in a car. Had the foresight to check with Edmunds as to its fair value. This dealer tried to lowball me on the trade-in. Do your homework or you will get taken to the cleaners. I would not buy a vehicle from this dealer again and will caution everyone about their fraudulent methods.

My wife and I did some research and we decided on a new 2010 Subaru Forester. We also checked out the Honda CRV and the Toyota Rav4, i would never step foot in the two dealers again after the way they conduct business!!! Well onto the Subaru, being from westfield we about 20 mins away from 4 subaru dealerships, we sent out internet inquiries and all were very promt. The internet sales manager at Richard Lucas was the first one that emailed us back (i think his name is jeff) and called to see if we had anymore questions, and to see if we wanted to set an appointment, which we did. We were greeted by Julian who became our salesman, jeff introduced himself to us, we went on a few test drives, and then my wife found the one she wanted Forester 2.5x with the All-weather package in spark silver. Julian was very professional and they worked us up a very fair price. The financing went thru very easy and we were in and out within an 1 1/2 hours. I give this buying experience a 10 out of 10.

Be careful of an internet purchase

I bought a new 2010 Subaru Forester from Richard Lucas Subaru. I bought it via the internet when I was in Seattle and picked it up when I arrived in New Jersey. I love the car. The sales person, Jackie, was terrific. She was helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We agreed on a features package and a price, and I wired the money for the car to the dealership before I arrived. When I arrived to pick up my car, Richard Lucas, Jr., who had personally approved the final sale price, told us that he would have to charge us several hundred dollars extra. He acknowledged that we had established a price for the car but claimed he was not making any profit at the price he had quoted. I felt this was a form of extortion since there was little I could do at that point.
