The difference is the dealer

Earlier this year I watched a story on news about a lady here in KC that purchased a new vehicle with major problems. It seemed that every time she got to certain speed the vehicle would pull to the right. She immediately took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was purchased who refused do anything and then she contacted the manufacturer who also refused to do anything. She then was involved in an accident because of the faulty vehicle so she hired an attorney to represent her. He recommended that she contact the call for action reporter. After threats of bad press from the call for action reporter and a month later the lady's problem was resolved. That’s why I’m writing this review, to tell everyone about my dealer and why I love Honda. Anyone who really knows me knows that I have been a Honda guy for over 20 years. I like Hondas because they just work, they might not have all of the whistles and bells that are available on other vehicles but the options on Honda just work. Well in February I purchased my 4th Honda Pilot in 14 years. The new Pilot had so many new options it was an eye opener to me. I really like this car. Well I was driving on the highway about a month after I got the car and I saw what looked like a puff of smoke. I called the dealership’s service department, they thought if might be a build up of condensation, which since it was cold outside, sounded logical to me and I didn't give it a second thought. Fast forward to May 2015 a friend was following me and he also saw puff of smoke from my car. So I placed a GoPro camera on the back of my car and drove a couple of hundred miles, About every 7 to 10 miles the vehicle would puff smoke. I took the car into the dealership; it’s now over 3 months old and it has 1800 miles. They checked the oil, it was low and very dirty. I guess that I got a bad Honda engine out of the box, but here is where things go right. That was on a Tuesday afternoon. I talked with service and sales managers of Lees Summit Honda, who offered to replace the engine or if I would like they would replace the vehicle with another new Pilot and transfer all of the after market items that I had installed. Well instead of waiting for a new engine I said give me the new vehicle. I was in the new Pilot with the same color on Thursday afternoon. Just 2 days for resolution, no threats, no attorneys, no TV reporters just another Happy Honda Customer. The difference was the dealer, thanks Lees Summit Honda!
