VAN CHEVEROLET Kansas City - STAY AWAY!!

2019 Acadia, 66,000 miles, 6,000 miles past Powertrain warranty mind you! I took my car in to Van for what I described as cutting out when going up hills when giving it a little gas and it gets worse the warmer the car gets. Within a day they came back and told me I needed a new torque converter for $4500. I asked if this would fix the problem due to the high repair cost. John H. read me what their "transmission" guy reported and I agreed to the repair as I didn't feel there was really much choice other than for me to repair my car and TRUST them. The repair itself was quick but they said my car was still shuddering and they had checked everything they could think of and called in a field engineer at this point because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. After a few weeks, John H. called and said that they did a fuel flush and that didn't work, tested my fuel and it was fine, and the engineer "thinks" it's the injectors and that my car had 2 issues going on when I brought it in!! He told me they would only charge me for parts with no mark up and it would $500. I said so at this point you guys are just throwing parts at it? I then asked for the GM customer care number to start a claim with them. (This was a slow long wasted time process that took a few weeks to accomplish nothing. They only contact you every 2 days and they told me exactly what the dealership said and told me that if i feel my car was misdiagnosed to just take it somewhere else then!!!! Ok, then I start all over, and have more labor charges!! I couldn't believe that is how they really treat customers!) A different John called me the day after the first John and said yeah I was down with the engineer working on your car and you definitely need new injectors and it'll be $700. I said WHOA, that is not what I was told yesterday. It was only $500 yesterday and now $700. I was told the service manager was out of town and he made it sound like they did me a favor by not charging me for a fuel flush (good thing, I didn't authorize it, and it didn't work either) I expressed my concern that my car was misdiagnosed from the start and now they are scrambling to fix the correct problem at my expense! I didn't authorize the injector repair as I waited for GM customer care to do NOTHING for me in the end. I finally reached out to a Kim at the dealership, who got with the service manager to look into my car and call me. He again was playing off my car had 2 issues going on and asked if I had even driven my car yet. I told him NOONE offered to let me drive it to see what I thought. He told me I didn't have a check engine light on and it was fine to drive. He also said he would give it awhile and if I take the car and decide after a few days or weeks that I want to do the repair that they will still just charge for the cost of parts at now $650. We went and drove my car after it sat there for 6 weeks trying to come to an agreeable solution for EVERYONE. I thought I could still feel a little something that wasn't right but my car was cold and not driven much to test it. We went ahead and paid the $4500 repair bill so we could take my car home so it could be driven as normal to see what I thought. My car drives EXACTLY the same as the day I took it in!!! This dealership took complete advantage of me with a $4500 unnecessary torque converter repair job! They will NOT acknowledge any ownership in their wrong doing and act like they're doing me a favor to just keep guessing at parts and only charging me for the cost. I will tell you #1 DO NOT BUY A GMC ACADIA. They have TONS of problems. The Buick Enclave has the same base and has the same issues so stay away from those also. #2 DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO VAN CHEVROLET!!

Front head light repair

We just spent $800+ on a front headlight that was cracked from a rock. 1week later the light pops out a little as one of the clips fell out. Instead of repairing it they took photos and tried to sell us a new truck

Took Care Of the Customer

Had a new transmission put in at Van Chevrolet. I bought a warranty from a different dealer that they honored. Help me through the process, took care of all the details, and I didnt have to harass them for information. Called me multiple times a day, kept me in the know, and really took care of the customer. Have already been back for service on another vehicle

When check lights came on, Van stepped up

Driving home in a thunderstorm, my check emissions light came on. I've had cars where this was the O2 sensor or gas cap, but this was different. It was right before a holiday weekend but they squeezed me in. After checking everything, they found three issues and they were able to cover them under my warranty. I was extremely pleased with the calls from the service tech, who kept me advised every step of the way. Excellent service without pressure to "fix" things that didn't need it. Love these guys!

Jeff Stever in finance made the the process fast and easy. Best customer service by far. That's why my entire family buys from VAN.

Time between requesting appointment and actual appointment was unbelievable! I called at 8:00 and service was at 1:00 same afternoon. Was told tire rotation and oil change would take 90 min, service was finished in 70.
