Bad Customer Service
Written by mrssmith77 on 01/25/2008
I had a bad experience with this dealership. I brought my VW in to be serviced. It needed a new water pump. The mechanic called me and asked me if I wanted some routine things done while they were in there. He said that I had the wrong coolant in and asked if I wanted to have it flushed out and put new in. I explained that i had recently had that done and that if there was a problem with it I would have the other mechanic take care of it. The mechanic that I use for oil changes seemed to think that the kind he used was the best kind. A difference of opinion, but not a big deal. What was a big deal was that after I asked them not to mess with the coolant they mixed in the pink coolant with the coolant that was already in there and it was not compatible. When I got the car back it was making a funny noise so I had my husband look under the hood and he noticed the pink coolant. He brought the car back up to the service center and the mechanic tried to deny it at first until another mechanic came over and said that someone had put in the pink coolant and he didn't understand why since the kind that was compatible was in the back room. The first mechanic then offered to flush it out, but said we had to pay for the coolant. My husband was getting agitated and said we were not going to pay for their mistake, and asked to speak to the manager. The manager agreed to fix the mistake for free. When my husband returned to pick up the car there was a police officer there. Which was not a big deal I can understand that they were just being cautious, but when my husband went to leave the police officer said that it was reported that my car smelled like marijuana which was just rediculous. My husband took offense and asked the policeman to search the car and told him that he would be happy to comply with a UA since he is tested randomly anyway at his job. My husband mentioned that he should contact an attorney for harrasment and the policeman then changed his mind and said maybe it was cigar smoke he was smelling since my husband had just returned from a poker tournament. I found it to be very insulting not to mention had their mistake not been caught it could have caused my engine to completely lock up. They admitted to the mistake when there was no choice and then still tried to charge to fix it. When they had no other choice they tried to insult out integrity by making a very false accusation.
