Dealership Sales Review

1.7 out of 5 starssales Rating
Wouldn't buy from them even if they were paying me.

Sales tactics were fairly aggressive, as to be expected from sales consultants who are working on commission, until the very end when it became overly hostile. I became suspicious from the beginning when we were informed that the prices listed on the web are not the true price and reflects a $3,500 trade in and none of the cars had prices listed on them. My husband and I were very clear from the absolute beginning and again many times throughout our visit that we were only there to check out cars and test drive. We agreed to sit down and discuss prices only in order to see what he could offer us. After several hours of the sales person going back and forth to the sales manager to get a better price, the manager finally came over to make his offer. When we again informed him that we would not be buying or committing to an offer, and reminded him that we had been saying that from the beginning he (mind you, the sales manager!) became incredibly hostile, and angry, stating that we had wasted 4 hours of his sales associates time only to "screw him over". This was followed by several minutes of blasting my husband and I with angry words and Personal Insults. When I expressed to the sales manager that his sales person had been doing a fine job, and even though we were not going to buy or agree to buying today we had planned to come back and buy from him, that was until he (the manager) came in and became so rude and hostile. The sales manager then challenged us by saying that we had come from a far distance, and he's "been doing this a long time and knows you won't come back". After further yelling and insults, stating that we were uninformed consumers and suddenly introduced 0% financing to us, the sales manager walked out of the room and turned the dealership lights off and began yelling something at us across the dealership floor in front of all the other sales people who were standing around. Like I'd buy something then. My husband and I informed the sales person that his sales manager had lost a sale for him, even if the sale didn't happen that night, it could have happened in the future, but unfortunately we would not be coming back due to the manager's behavior. My husband and I were not born yesterday and are informed consumers. We know that consumers do not buy sticker price for a car. I also know that I, as a consumer, always have a right to say "no, I'm not buying today". So in the end, the sales manager was right. I won't go back there, but it has nothing to do with the distance from my home, and everything to do with his attitude, disrespect and hostile behavior. I hope the sales consultant who worked with us, disassociates himself with Empire. I actually feel embarrassed for him considering his managers performance.
