*BERTERA NISSAN AUBURN MASSACHUSETTS* **USED CAR WARRANTY SCAM ALERT**

by Lorenza on 04/06/2023

***IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A ZURICH WARRANTY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP CHECK YOUR GLOVEBOX AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT*** I am sharing my experience because what has happened at this dealership was dishonest, unethical and exactly what most car shoppers fear when shopping/purchasing a new vehicle. If you have purchased a vehicle from Bertera Nissan or any dealership for that matter double check your warranty that was sold to you to see what they sold you and double check the stipulations and MILAGE on the warranty that you are being offered. The image I am sharing is from a 3rd party warranty through Zurich that was sold by Bertera Nissan on a Certified Pre Owned Nissan vehicle and shame on me for not realizing sooner and trusting a dealership that has worked with me and 3 Nissan vehicles/ issues in the past. **BOTTOM LINE** I had no intent of purchasing a warranty as I had never purchased one on any pre owned vehicle in the past. This was well known with service, sales and finance. However due to my lack of trust based on experience with Nissan CVT Transmission failure that caused me to be trapped with the Nissan Family I was sold on what was presented to me. I was purchasing a vehicle at almost $38k miles and the warranty which was verbally described to me by someone I had previously done business with and trusted. I signed a document that you see that has no clear warranty information. Again shame on me for being so trusting. The warranty was described to me as 84 months/ 5 years with the end date 5/7/2025 OR 75k miles on top of the mileage that I was purchasing the vehicle at. My vehicle was totaled 3/16/23 and the bank who financed my vehicle advised me to reach out to the dealership to request they cancel my warranty and return any unearned premium for the warranty I did not use. Come to find out the warranty sold to me was specifically for NEW VEHICLES not PRE OWNED. I was only refunded $180.00. The Finance Manager Vinny started my mileage for the warranty at 0 miles although I was purchasing at almost 38K. && I PAID FOR A WARRANTY FROM 0-38K BEFORE I EVEN PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.

Horrible service

by CYL496 on 08/02/2015

Was quoted 1 price. When the vehicle got to the service department the price increased 61% for the same service. They stated it was a website glitch. After several calls and dealing with 2 people and demanding a manager they agreed to the website price. Called another Nissan dealership just to see what their price was for the same service. The other dealer was half of the discounted web price at Bertera. Feeling very ripped off. After 6 years of service and 2 vehicle purchases from them, I will never be back.

Ridiculous!!

by kdls24 on 05/27/2014

I called on Friday late afternoon to find out if they can take a look at my car because it was making a funny noise, motor oil is burning to quickly and a clunk noise everytime I stepped on the gas pedal. The staff on the phone was unprofessional! He answered with a "Nope" and a "Yup". I brought it in Tuesday and they came up with a bunch of things that it might have. First they said they will do an oil change $42 later plus they added a sealer in the motor and asked me to come back after 1000 miles. I am so frustrated! The noise supposedly the axle assembly needs to be replaced. Than they thought it was the transfer case blah blah blah! I will never take my car back there again!!! Oh and they charged me $100.00 for the diagnostic! Awful experience!

Giving me the run around

by Milkaj on 02/13/2014

Not the place you want to buy your vehicle! I came in to Bertera Nissan in MA interested in a used Subaru for my daughter. After several emails to Sara and Teddy trying to reduce the price on a vehicleI, I was on the phone with Teddy and after reaching a reasonable number, I headed to the dealer to put together the papers to send to my credit union. Teddy insisted over the phone for a deposit becuse they had givem me a "great deal". I told him "I am headed over there right now", he said just put at least $100 it's totally refundable. I gave him my debit card information. When I get to the dealer, Teddy was a bit all over the place, not quite attentive. We test drove the car and he didn't even ask for the license like other dealers had done to test drive a car. Then we sat for about 1/2 hour in the waiting area he came and went with papers for us to sign, but never sat with us or moved us to an office/desk space, which I considered very unprofessional and unorganized. He was also trying to assist another customer that came in without being done with us. After 45 minutes he passes by and sees us there just waiting, he said our finance department is ready for you. At the end of all we were not able to do much that day because I was suppose to ask my credit union for some information, and I didn't know. The next day the credit union felt the car was overpriced based on a website that they utilize for pricing (NADA). After a day of trying to see what could be done, the credit union did not want to approve the loan for that specific vehcle. I was in constant communication with Teddy and i told him I would not fight it anymore with the credit union and just to refund me deposit. It was Friday and he said call me on Monday to get your card information again, for the refund, I called him on Tuesday and gave him the card info and it's been 9 days and I still have not received my deposit. I have called and emailed Teddy on this issue without success, I emailed Sara the person that I was in contact initially and nothing, left a message for Jason who I was told is a "Sales Manager", and nothing yet. It's ridiculous they are really giving me the run around to refund $100, I don't care if it's a penny it's my money. In my email to Sara and message to Jason I told them if I did not have it by today I would share my review, I guess they don't care because nothing happened. Obviously this dealer is not very diligent to make sure they do things by the book and if you don't buy a car after all you will have to go through some work to get your deposit back, be aware!

hesitation that is normal on all cvt trans from nissan

by dedaddyoh on 03/17/2013

call from dealer asking how my puchase was ... told them vehicle hesitates. I was told they would call me back.. No call ! Went for my free first oil change 5 pm.. waited over 1 hr... Was CHARGED 42 dollars with a simple check list noting everything was perfect. I informed them again of the random hesitation and they informed me it was the catalytic converter and to warm the versa up for 3 minutes then it will be fine. A few days later and it hesitates after running 45 min. Dealership gave me free rental ( Appreciated ) Service center said they can not find a problem and that i dont understand how the car works. next sentence was that anyone could duplicate the problem with any nissan cvt vehicle... vehicle gets confused as to what it is supposed to due if slowing and then trying to excellerate suddenly... Absolutly a lie. If true they have major problems! Never happened in 21000 miles on the 2012 versa i owned. The service department is inept at finding problems but expert at getting ride of us the problem!

stuffing car down throat is priority

by dedaddyoh on 03/17/2013

Came to dealership with knowledge of what i wanted...as owning a 2012 versa till accident ruined my favorite vehicle.... nothing but signing paperwork mattered at all and that i sign regardless of my concernes or questions. Which unfortunately I did. Marlboro nissan was better in general. aburn considerably closer....my mistake service is aweful.... problems with versa are our imagination as we are not smart enough to understand that the vihicle is supposed to hesitate on all cvt transmissions installed in nissans according to there best service rep.. absolute crap.

Bancroft Nissan-great people to deal with

by ttexastommy on 08/13/2007

I am one of those guys that hates to shop for a new car because it is usually a very unpleasant experience. But my visit to Bancroft Nissan was the best car buying experience I have ever had. They had the car I wanted on the lot, the salesman (Neil Latino) gave me his best price, and I accepted it! I had done a great deal of research before visiting this dealership, so I knew I had a great price. There was no pressure, no haggling, and I was treated with respect. Even the finance guy was courteous and when we said "no" to the extended warranty he accepted it without any rancor. I was in and out in about one hour. I highly recommend Neil Latino and Bancroft Nissan to anyone buying a new Nissan in the Worcester area. Incidentally, I love my new Versa, "the little car that isn't."
