The Worst

onOn 3/22/14, after being invited to this dealership by Natalie via an internet inquiry.
I told Natalie that the lexus LS was on my "bucket list", but I had never drove the car or viewed it's options.
When I entered the facility, no one acknowledged me.
I walked around aimlessly, until I then called the phone number that was provided via e-mail, and advised someone named Taylor, that no one spoke to me.
After approximately 20 minutes later, I was approached by a young black male, who seemed to render assistance.
He apologized profusely and then asked me what I wanted to see.
I told him I wanted to know what I needed to do to buy a car, but first wanted to do a test drive.
He asked me to sign an application.
I told him I didn't want my credit pulled, I just wanted to know about the LS.
He told me he needed the application for ID verification and asked for my driver's license.
I waited an additional 15 minutes, and he returned.
His demeanor had changed, and he told me that I needed to reschedule. I asked why.
He stated that he was unable to verify my identification because the computer were down and that he was not going to allow me to drive a $60,000. car without collateral.
I asked him what did he mean?
I had insurance, and so did his company, why couldn't I receive a test drive?
He failed to answer.
I told him that he had better not have run my credit report.
He did not have permission, and I wanted the application back with my signature.
He told
me that he would have to make a copy.
I told him no he was not, and took the application. I found out later he had indeed pulled my credit.
I was not only humiliated and embarrassed but felt that Len Stoler discriminated against me because of my credit score.
If I hit the lottery, that would be the last place I buy a car.
I guess this is the new discrimination process.

Sounds like a bad dealer, I was going to visit them this weekend.
However, after spending 15-minutes on the phone they were unable to verify if a car they had on Autotrader was still available.
They said they would confirm and call back...they never did.
The folks at Lexus of Silver Spring on the other hand were very friendly and let my wife and I test drive 2 GS350.
They even offered to let me take the car home and return it the next day to try and convince me they had the best product.
I didn't take them up on the offer as I would then feel like I needed to buy a car that day.
