Dealer Response
Upon top management learning about this incident on 6/4/12 through the customers posting on this site, we began a complete investigation.
It appears that a rogue employee, now former employee, acted outside of the scope of his employment. Immediately upon concluding our investigation, which was within 48 hours of learning about this matter, we began attempting to contact the customer and we were able to speak the next day.
Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis sincerely apologized to the owner of the car and we accept full responsibility for the matter and how it was initially handled.
While we are not aware of anything like this having happened before, we have taken significant steps to insure that it cannot happen in the future.
