Do not take your car to this dealership!
Written by dee_dee34 on 12/22/2007
Service Department is a joke! My daughter hit a curb with her then 2002 Acura RSX and we took the car to Criswell where we purchased the car. I explained that I just lost my 18 year old daughter in an accident and that I wanted the car repaired correctly. When we went to pick-up the car, the steering wheel was off centered and the rim on the damaged tire was still scratched up. They charged for a new tire and a front end alignment (this was not done because the steering wheel would not have been off centered). We then took the car to another shop because it was steering strangely and they said the car was NOT DRIVEABLE! State Farm then inspected the vehicle and could not believe Criswell did nothing to the car except replace a tire on a severly damaged rim and front end. Literally, the entire front end was ripped apart and it cost nearly $3,000 to repair. Jeff at Criswell's service department was very defensive claiming they sent the car out for work and this was not their fault! If my daughter had been in an accident (which clearly could have happened), Criswell would have been at fault! Since purchasing the car new in 2001, we have always taken it back to Criswell for service maintenance. In fact, when the sensor light continued to fail, they said my daughter's cell phone caused it to malfunction! Of course at another dealership, they laughed and said this was a joke - that the problem was caused by a converter problem and they fixed the problem once and for all. Note: We had the car at Criswell's five times for this problem! Criswell's would just reset the button and never fixed the problem! At 58,000 miles, we told Jeff the car was going to college in Tallahassee, FL and would need a really good check-up. Then at 98,000 miles we took the car back to Criswell for more service. Note: the bill is always $2,000 or $3,000. During this service, Criswell called and recommended the timing belt be changed, which I authorized. Then in Tallahassee at 105,000 miles the transmission started shifting improperly. My daughter took the car to an Acura dealership in Tallahassee and they asked when was the last time the transmission was serviced. I asked them to contact Criswell's for the maintenance history. We then found out Criswell NEVER serviced the transmission. Instead, they claim that we never asked for it! I then called Mr. Criswell himself and he could care less. Mr. Criswell loves Jeff and the unsavory way he treats customers and the unsafe shotty work they perform on cars. My daughter needs a new transmission thanks to Criswell! Jeff at Criswells said it wasn't his responsibility to service the transmission - what a joke! Best off not purchasing anything from Criswells. The service department stinks!
