Buying a car from a Kia Car Dealer

NJ Kia Car Consumer Discussions

Review 2008 Sedona (cont.) by ericderek on Tue Jul 05 19:52:32 PDT 2011

I am now due for the 30,000 mile check up on my 2008 Sedona. First, I had to have the timing belt replaced because it was making an awful noise. Apparently the pulley that tightens it doesn't work properly. This is a known problem. I called my dealer (not the one I bought the car from), and they fixed the problem under warranty (done around 20k miles). The Brake Rotors are warped. (when braking, the car shudders) Again, this is a common problem - do an internet search, but is not covered under warranty. I didn't figure it out until too late. I haven't had them replaced yet, but expect I will have to pay for them. This will be part of my 30k service. My original tires need to be replaced. 30k miles seem a little low for tire replacement, but again, I bought a KIA, and to keep costs down, the parts are not the highest quality. Again, these will be replaced at the 30k service. (Researching tires right now.) My rear view cabin mirror broke yesterday. - Not the rear view mirror to see cars behind you, but the one that lets you see the kids in back seat. Otherwise the car has been fine. Gas mileage is okay. Nothing great, but no complaints. My kids and their friends can all fit in it, even with car seat. I can carry lots of junk (we do lots of garage sales). Multiple Trips from North NJ to Maryland, Virgina, Philadelphia without any issues. I see the complaints go up once this model style gets above 60k miles. I hope this is not true as I'd like to get the car into the 75-90k range before selling it. Any questions or comments write to me at bagel3456@gmail com
