CRD buying: by joe233 on Tue Aug 15 14:31:57 PDT 2006; what's the current situation with buying a CRD model? Are they in limited supply and do they qualify for all the same incentives & specials? Also, are you able to still get a good deal if dealer doesn't have one in stock and has to transport a vehicle you want to their lot?

Just bought 2005 Liberty Sport 4x4: by spiffykyle on Wed Mar 15 09:05:08 PST 2006; We were planning on buying a small SUV in a few months, but recent catastrophic failure of my wife's '96 Camero pushed that decision up to this past Monday. First off we live in Houston, TX and we went to Carmax since I had a great experience there buying my car. We knew we wanted a small SUV and after test driving a bunch my wife fell in love with the Liberty. So we found a 2005 Liberty Sport 4x4 with ~12,500 miles on it for $17,000 +ttl. After all the paperwork and trading in her car (they gave us blue book for it even though it needed some hefty engine work) we ended up paying a little less that $20K for the Jeep with a 5yr comprehensive warranty. Its the kakhi color with cloth interior, V6, and a few extras. So far its driving great, I can't get my wife out of it.

does base X include center console?: by dirkpitt73 on Mon Nov 05 16:02:20 PST 2007; The dealer I visited today didn't have any X's without some sort of package. If I get an X w/ just 17" wheels and maybe Sirius, will it have the lockable center console? Anyone else with a base X out there (sans "S" package) care to comment? Do you regret getting one so bare? Thanks ...

Wrangler not in Costco program: by dirkpitt73 on Mon Nov 05 16:00:15 PST 2007; I've been eyeing the new JK Wranglers and finally got a chance to drive one today - loved it! I'm looking for an X w/ 17" wheels and Sirius, that's about it. I submitted a request to the Costco Auto buying program, I've heard it's generally at or below invoice. It said there were not dealers and to call. A short phone convo later and I was told the Wrangler is excluded, at least in my state (Texas). Ugh - so, I guess I'll have to negotiate the old fashioned way.

I called and they told me I had to be resident of that state to take advantage of the price...i guess a way to keep people from flying out and bring back cheaper...although i was able to pick up my 05 rubi for almost 6K under sticker from a dealer in Indiana thats advertised on ebay, the have it shipped back to me in Texas. Even paying shipping costs i stilll came out way ahead of what any dealer would offer me here in Texas.....
