I bought a 2004 Mazda RX-8 with 58k with warranty for $15k last april(2011). I brought the car to c&s in the beginning of April 2012 with no start when warm, pore fuel Eco, gas in oil, and stalling at 64k miles. Cs said it needed new coils, plugs, and wires to fix it so I paid $1116 to have it fixed. Few days later I get the call to come get the car and they said it was fixed. Picked up the car brought it home popped the hood and inspected their work and found that the engine had blown all the oil out between mason city, ia an Waterloo. I immediately called cs and they had the car toed back, they called back the next day and said they couldn't figure out how all the oil came out and I ended up paying $64 for an oilchange. So I got the car home the next day and a few days later I started having the same problems as before so I ended up having to have it toed there again (wasn't even running). They did their thing and called me a few days later and said that their was a crack in my intake, motor mounts are bad, and the crank position sensor is bad. I told them that there is no way that sensor is bad bc I had recently had it replaced so they did some re-searching and said it was the starter that was causing the sensor to trigger, so the sales manager said if the starter didn't fix the problems he would refund the $287 towards the next time the car was in the shop (so of corse I paid the $287 and never got refunded) Got the car home a few days later and put a couple hundred miles on it and started having problems again where it wouldn't start so I sent the car back and cs said they couldn't replicate the problems and sent it back to me the same day(fri) few days later on (wed) I had to drive 165miles to Iowa city and half way there I filled up gas and noticed it was making a weird hissing noise so I continued to my doc apt. And on the way back my a/c started cutting out then by the time I went to fill up gas again before I hit Waterloo the a/c stopped working and when I started the car after pumping gas the hissing noise from the engine was even louder, the a/c was blasting extremely hot air and the engine light was on (I wanna note that it was over 100 degrees outside) so took it to Mazda and they gave me a rental to drive home called the next day and said my valve had gone out so that cost me $350 and the re-filled the a/c for free (but the a/c still doesnt work worth crap). Picked up the car in waterloo a few weeks later and it didn't even start on the first try ( tech guy got it started) drove it home went to take it to the car wash paid for my wash went to drive it into the wash and it died, started it and it died, started it and it died ( rep. 4 times), myself and two other guys ended up pushing it out of the wash and I had to wait for the engine to cool down before I got it started drove it home and cs picked it up the next day took it back to Waterloo said they drove it all week put 150 miles on it and couldn't replicate the problem so they told me to come pick up the car and after that I was banned from the property and not allowed to even call (wouldn't even give me a refund) drove it home and immediately after I got home called Midas (mechanic shop) drove it their and the manager couldn't even get it started the first few try's and that it ran ruff when he'd did get it started.i filled a complaint with mazda and have yet to hear back but now I have a car that's costed me over $17k in the last year and can barely drive it ..don't got to C&S car company if u need ur car fixed bc they won't fix it they just take your money and cause more issues
