Stay Away from this Dealership

Avoid this place at all costs! Refrain from doing business with this dealership, particularly with Manager Joseph Perry. My son and I leased a 2019 TRD PRO from this very dealership three years ago (Connor Rohrman was our salesman). Having no idea how the market would play out, I insisted at the time he purchase GAP Insurance to protect himself from standard depreciation in the event of a total loss. Little did we know how the market would change to our advantage! On Friday, 11/25/2022, we went in to either purchase a new car or buy out the lease. GM Joseph Perry thought he could unilaterally change the terms of the lease-end contract. He quickly learned from me he could not and that made him angry. I later learned his and Oakbrook Toyota's actions are a direct violation of Toyota Financials Agent's Agreement with the dealership (lease-end buyout). I spoke with Tanesha, a representative from Toyota Financial yesterday and they were very interested in what occurred. They will be contacting Rohrman Group to discuss the matter in detail. She spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me, capturing as much detail as possible. Joseph Perry stated he could pretty much do as he pleased, adding "I am in business to make money and I can do what I want." My son challenged them to explain three egregious, discrepancies in what we knew versus what he felt he could do, including “items” not included in the contract both they and we had in our respective possession. When they were confronted with these blatant inconsistencies, Mr. Perry and several of his colleagues became defensive, argumentative, and rude. It got worse when they knew we were pre-approved for a car loan through USAA and had the nerve to question whether they could take payment from USAA. Huh???? Aside from being an insurance company for veterans such as myself, they are also a financial institution backed by the FDIC. Why wouldn't they take payment from them? Because they realized they didn’t have a relationship with USAA and could not benefit in any way, that's why! To back up our claim of blatant disrespect, we happen to have the representative from USAA listening in on the conversation who commented on how poorly we were treated. When they finally realized their “strategy” wasn’t going to fly, they asked us to leave and refused to honor the lease end agreement; Again, a potential violation as an Agent of Toyota Financial. On our way out the door, my son had a few choice words for them at which time Joseph Perry became upset and made extremely unprofessional references I don’t feel a need to share on this site. I believe you are all getting an accurate picture. If you want to be treated fairly and not get taken, stay away from this place at all costs! This place is rated 9th in Toyota Dealerships in the Chicago area. Joe Perry and what I believe to be deceptive practices rampant with this dealership are the reason. Caveat Emptor! (Let the buyer beware!). This place wouldn’t even adhere to a previously signed contract issued by them and signed by me with a courtesy handshake. Would you trust any dealership who attempted to renege on a mutually signed. pre-determined lease-end buyout? Think long and hard before entering this establishment.

Just Don't

Honestly, it is very interesting how they sell any cars. A lot of water in their conversations, they don't care about you, they only think how to get deeper into your wallet. Just be cautious if you decide to go there.

Avoid at all Costs

My wife took her car in for a recall this past week. Since her car was going in anyways, she mentioned an issue with the front brakes squeaking so they did an inspection of the entire car including the brakes. We previously had the brakes replaced by another shop and had heard squeaking ever since so we needed help trying to pinpoint the cause of the sound. Toyota finds a leaky water pump and recommends replacing it along with the 2 front brakes and front rotors to fix the squeaking noise. My wife, God bless her heart, just wants to be over and done with this issue with the brakes so $1,300 later, we get the work done. A day passes and the brakes are still squeaking. We take the car in again yesterday and they tell us that the sound is now coming from the back 2 brakes which is a brand new issue altogether as we hadn't heard the back brakes squeaking until this point. Now they want an extra $500 to fix the same issue we paid them to fix originally but in the back brakes. I understand that the previous mechanic was to blame for installing aftermarket brakes but what really bugs me is that Toyota, either due to sheer ignorance or slick salesmanship (neither of which are excusable), was not forthcoming about the true cost to fix the squeaking brakes. If all 4 brakes need to be replaced to stop the noise then these "pros" need to tell us that from the start. To be honest, it wasn't exactly "breaking news" that Toyota originally overcharged my wife for the water pump replacement ($850) and the 2 front brakes and rotors ($450) but to turn around and say that we have to pay an extra $500 to fix an issue that we already paid top dollar to fix originally? Not acceptable from any business let alone the service shop where she originally purchased the car. Long story short, these guys were either are too dumb to do a good job or just plain dishonest. I don't recommend you take the time to find out. Avoid this place at all costs.

A Great first service appointment

I had the side moldings added to my new car. They ordered them and arrived within 2 days, it was easy to make and appointment and they took less time than quoted. The waiting room has WiFi nooks for laptops, free coffee, water and a spacious room with enough seating and a big TV. Very pleasant staff, explained everything before and after - no surprises! I trust this level of service will continue based on the other customers I saw checking out.

A Great Experience

My husband and I came to this dealership to look for my new car, not knowing which model would be best. Our salesman Jim Kalcic was new at the dealership but spent a lot of time making sure he had the correct information for us and shared his knowledge of the product freely. Both the Finance Manager and Sales Manager personally introduced themselves and also offered to assist us. We made a second trip within 2 days to buy the car I found on line in their inventory in my preferred color choice. After purchase, one staff member spent 1 hour showing us the apps in the car and how to operate all of them. I love the car, and the staff at Oakbrook Toyota.

Seamless

I couldn't have asked for a better experience! My salesman Kevin Vlcek-Mahn was so helpful. He went over every detail of every step and was very patient with all my questions. This dealership runs like a well oiled machine. I was in and out with my new car within a couple hours. Definitely will be going back here in the future.

Great Enviroment

I had a great experience at the dealership. Everyone was so helpful especially Mo Afzal, He helped us pick the car we like and get a great deal on it. Definitely recommend this dealership. If you go in ask for Mo he is really helpful.

Easiest new car purchase EVER!!!

We located a vehicle we were interest in looking at over the internet and called to verify that it was available. My husband spoke with Cesar who called back quickly to advise that it was and set up an appointment at our convenience the next day. The car was ready and waiting - and is just beautiful and now OURS!!! Our salesman was Bill Hallom and he did a fantastic job of showing us our new Toyota 4Runner - went with us on a test drive, showed us many of the features and was able to answer most of our questions. He also helped to facilitate our trade-in and at a price that we were satisfied with. We drove our new car home the same day - and the entire team we came into contact with just did a wonderful job of taking care of every step of the transaction. Every person had a job to do and they do it quite well - professionally, and yet they are very personable. We spent most of our time with Bill and he was just awesome - I told him that he was on our list of people we were willing to adopt!!! Seriously, we drove about two hours to get to the dealership, but they had the vehicle we wanted at a good price, and the great service was just icing on the cake. Add in the Toyota extras and it was all around just an excellent experience. Too bad we don't need another car in the near future!!! A big thank you to all of the guys who helped us with our new vehicle purchase - on a holiday weekend no less. I was impressed with the number of vehicle they have available and the fact that there were quite of lot of people on the lot shopping for a vehicle when we arrived - I didn't expect that at all. I personally think that speaks volumes not only about the dealership, but also the quality of the product they are selling. This makes our fourth Toyota purchase (so far!).

Oakbrook Toyota: The Way Car Buying Should Be!

The whole car-buying experience can be daunting at times but not with my experience at Oakbrook Toyota. Upon arrival, I was greated by Maher. He is friendly, genuine, and knowledgable. This is my family's third Toyota vehicle purchased at Oakbrook Toyota, so it's a no-brainer to return to the best Toyota dealership in the Chicago-metro area. Everyone that I met (Maher, Joe P., Alex, Zubair, Phil, and Joe V.) at Oakbrook Toyota were very personable. We had genuine small talk conversations and I think the number one goal for any business/customer service is making the experience "memorable". My experience upon arrival to departure was memorable. There was no hostility during negotiation, there wasn't any rush, the team cared about working with you in structuring the deal, and most importantly getting you the vehicle you want -- it was hassle-free plain and simple. It was a pleasure working with Oakbrook Toyota and will certainly recommend my family and friends to purchase from them!

Five Stars. Top Marks. I could not be happier with my 2016 Scion. Maher took the time, was very professional and helpful every step of the way. The finance department really worked hard, even stayed late and truly offered a very good deal. They exceeded my expectations. I am going to buy my next car there, from the same people if possible.

I recently got my new Toyota Rav4 AWD from this dealership. Loved the service from very beginning. They are fast, friendly and knowledgable. I was very limited on time and it took them only about two hours to show/explain/negotiate/finance. After I came back few hours later they stayed with me till 10:30pm to get done with all the paperwork & insurance. Despite me being the only one who kept them there till that late they stayed very nice and polite to me. If I decide to go with Toyota for my next car I definitely will go with this dealership. Many thanx to Ceaser, Maher, Nikola and finance man (sorry, I forgot the name...) 🚗🚗🚗😫

See Mustafa!

My sales associate was Syed Mustafa. Although this was my second used vehicle purchased from Oakbrook Toyota, this was the first time I had dealt with him. He knew his inventory and took me right to the car I was looking for, a moderate-mileage-clean-larger Cadillac. It has been my personal experience that driving in a newer Cadillac felt like riding in a cramped space capsule. I have nothing against Toyotas, but I did not test drive any Toyotas or other used cars because of my personal bias for Cadillac. When I had a question about the condition, he immediately arranged for the car to be taken to service and put up on a rack, where a service representative took a light under the car and he pointed out to me where there was an not-unexpected-consistent-with-age oil leak in the valve covers (not a deal breaker) which was immediately cleaned up. After that, he arranged for me to take it to my usual mechanic to test drive and inspect. When other items were discovered (also not deal breakers), because they were not expert in Cadillac repairs, the price of the vehicle was reduced for a fair accommodation. Personally, Mustafa (he prefers to go by his last name) was polite, candid, patient and in no way aggressive, in his dealings with me as I vacillated in my decision. I would recommend that Oakbrook Toyota be considered for any car purchase - ask for Mustafa.

Buying a car after 20 years!

We bought our 2015 Prius from Lewis with Cesar going to bat for us to get more for my 20 year old trade in. The process was reasonable, fair and at no time high pressured. We had questions and Lewis helped answer them all. Ask for Lewis, he'll take care of you and so will Cesar. We love our Prius!

A Tundra for my Husband

We went more than once, as we were sooo divided in our decision, as to what kind of car to buy. Mo Afzal was so patient with us; and, had his own sensible views of our different choices. In the end, we decided to get the Tundra 2015 demo truck! ... you could just see the smile in my husband's face, which reached his chinky eyes ... :) We highly appreciate Mo's help & patience all through out the buying process.
