Super Happy Customer !!!!

I had a great buying experience and love my new Tucson !!! As a previous Lexus and BMW owner I have to say my new Tucson is outstanding in regards to the features, performance, comfort and styling. As a 3 time Hyundai owner , I must say they just keep getting better and better !!!! My sales experience was great , and I always get exemplary service when I bring my Hyundai in for service. The guys that take care of my vehicle do a great job !!!! Thanks again Family Hyundai for making my purchasing experience both awesome and memorable. You guys rock !!!!!

Deceptive advertising/Bait and Switch dealership

Long story short... DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING AND BAIT AND SWITCH DEALERSHIP! Now the long story... After 4 months of car shopping from Mississippi to the Chicago area, and visits to 14 different dealers, we arrived at Family Hyundai earlier this week to purchase a CERTIFIED PREOWNED 2017 Tucson VIN# KM8J23A49GU242074 which was advertised on multiple websites, including Family Hyundai’s and www.hyundaiusa.com as a Certified Preowned vehicle. We drove the car, negotiated and AGREED on a price, and started the paperwork to buy the car. Halfway through the paperwork signing, I was handed a piece of paper to sign stating the I was buying the car “AS IS NO WARRANTY.” I immediately asked the sales person what was going on, as the car was listed on all websites AND the window sticker as CERTIFIED PREOWNED. At that time, the sales person told me he mentioned to my husband, as they were talking in the parking lot and before we even looked at this car, that they have cars on the lot that are pre-certified, which can be actually certified for a fee. I was NOT part of that conversation. I responded to him that it doesn’t matter that they have cars on their lot that are precertified, because THIS CAR VIN #KM8J23A49GU242074 is listed on their website and the Hyundai USA website as already CERTIFIED. This is where the Bait and Switch and Deceptive Advertising comes in... He proceeds to tell me that if we want to buy this car we have to now pay an additional $599 for them to certify it. I explained that all negotiations were done on an ALREADY certified vehicle and they can’t add $599 to an already agreed upon price. Discussion took place and we left the dealership because they would not honor the agreeded upon price without charging an additional $599. We received a phone message upon returning home from another sales person named Mike asking us to please give him a chance to talk to his manager in the morning, explain what happened and get back to us. I agreed. (Let it be known, I have no gripe with Mike or Jason from this dealership. They are standup guys who actually tried to help us through this horrible experience.) The following day, we received multiple belligerent calls from different people at the dealership, each one reiterating that they would not honor the agreed price, but that they did come to a decision to offer the car to us for the agreed upon price PLUS $250 to CERTIFY the vehicle. We declined. I received another call from Graham Watson, the actual owner’s SON, that day telling me that on principle alone, he wouldn’t sell me that car without an additional $250 CERTIFICATION FEE because he said I “should have paid better attention when the sales person was explaining how their dealership works.” In a nutshell, their dealership works like this... they advertise and offer certified vehicles, but charge you AFTER agreeing upon a price for the certification. Unless the actual owner can rein in his son, Graham Watson, this dealership does not deserve business from hardworking individuals who want to buy a car. Oh and as far as Mike and Jason...they were told to stay out of it.

False advertising

I am very disappointed at the treatment that I received from you and your dealership staff on Saturday March 12, 2016. I found an advertised price of $15,240 for a 2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe that the dealership had in stock. Someone called and spoke to Jennifer confirming the availability and PRICING on Friday March 12, 2016. I went out of my way and spent time to look at the car. When it came down to discuss pricing, Kristi simply said that the price advertised was some kind of mistake and it was quickly dismissed. I called later that same afternoon and asked for the manager to complain about the FALSE advertising. Instead of the professional courtesy due to me, I was directed back to Jennifer who said the manager said the price was $21,990 without apology. This lack of respect made me realize that this was a sales tactic where the buyer was baited into a low advertised price just to get potential customers there.

Best Car buying experience, first time friendly

talk about a breeze? Jerry Lacy at Family Hyundai helped me tirelessly find an affordable payment and new car. he got me in a 2016 Hyundai Accent, in my favorite color- white! I'm a college student on a fixed income and him along with the financing department helped me and even have me FREE BUMPER TO BUMPER 5 year warranty! yes, free! I nearly broke down. I'd reccomend them any day of the week.

Family Hyundai really helped me pick the best car for my first time buyer experience! Jeremy Burke, my salesman, took his time in helping me with everything that I wanted in a car; from the payments, to every little detail in and outside of the car. I would most definitely recommend buying a car with Jeremy because he really takes his jobs seriously, and he is professional. He is an asset to the Family Hyundai. Very informative, takes his time and extremely polite. Also, not to mention, the rest of the staff on the financial department, service etc. really had a warm welcome, and helped with everything along the way. Family Hyundai really did a fantastic job on making my experience a fantastic one! It is definitely the true meaning of family!! Thank you again Jeremy!!

Beware They title new cars as used to void warranty

My parents bought a brand new car from Grahmn Watson of Family Hyundai in Tinley Park. Sold as a new car on the new lot, now finally when the car needed engine work Grahmn told my father to f off because it's a used car. He was rude and unprofessional and that is putting it nicely. As their daughter, I got involved and in my research found out the Watson family fraudently titled a new car that came straight from the assembly line to make it a used car and essentially voiding it's standard 10 year/100k warranty. I had to go to Hyundai corpoate and the BBB with this evidence and they sided with me to honor the warranty. I even posted a facebook review and Grahmn couldn't take a negative reviewa and deleted it and blocked me from posting. Funny when I read replies from Family Hyundai saying the value their customers. I warn everyone who wants to buy a new car from Family Hyundai, to get a car fax to make sure the title hasn't been messed with so they can sell a brand new car as "used" just to get out of their warranty. We did not appreciate the rude treatment from Grahmn and what he pulled was illegal. He thinks because he owns the business that he doesn't still have to answer to corporate, and he has no business running something that deals with customers if he is going to tell loyal customers to f off when there's an issue, especially a scam. I think the actual Hyundai corporation would agree with me that a person like Grahmn Watson should not be representing the Hyundai name. All we wanted was our engine fixed under warranty and we did not deserve the extremely rude treatment from Grahmn. This dealership was in the wrong to title a brand new car as personal to deem it used just so they can void out it's warranty, then take advantage of an older couple buying a car from a dealership from the first time and being told it was indeed a brand new car. Now that I am getting crap treatment from Grahmn even when I confront him with a bad review, I will not stay quiet until I know EVERYONE locally knows what they did to us and how they treated us. Unacceptable in every way. At least when corporate sided with us, his serive team apologized and were very nice. Grahmn couldn't even call to apologize himself for being wrong.

No regrets

I. Hate. Car. Shopping. I would rather go to the dentist! On our way to a different dealership, stopped in to look at an accent for our son. My husband noticed a VW with very low mileage. Our salesman Jerry was 'no pressure' type of guy. Got us the car fax on the 2 cars we were looking at and ended up letting us take one home for our son to test drive! Haggled a few hundred dollars off their already good asking price and we were out the door in under 2 hours. This place doesn't pressure you by bringing in other sales personnel to confront and bully you and I appreciate that.

I want to update my emotion-ridden review below and provide feedbakc on how this dealer took care of me. Miscommunication led to my initial dis-satisfaction. That being said, once service was made aware of it - they went the extra mile via a trip to my home to replace/mount the afflicted part. I was speechless. I am very comfortable in recommending this dealer - especially the service department which made sure I was a satisfied customer. Thanks Family Hyundai - now ready to fully enjoy my new car.

Great Service

Came in for a quick oil change, out in 30 mins with full inspection and they washed and vacuumed my car. I bought my 11 Sonata from them and got a great deal working with Al. Very happy customer and have since sent in 4 family members that have thanked me for making the buying process the easiest it has ever been. Thank you.

Was very disappointed when, after making an agreement to purchase a vehicle, and getting my financing and insurance ready, they sold the vehicle on me. Sales manager gave me one story. Sales Rep gave me another. General Manager gave me a third. Then, and only then, did they try to do everything in the world to sell me a car. WE CAN GET YOU A BETTER DEAL. WE CAN GET YOU BETTER FINANCING. ETC. ETC. I opted to go to a different dealer, and purchased a new Hyundai!

Al and Moe treated my wife and I with so much respect. Beat the price, stayed two hours past closing n a Saturday night to answer all our question. Class operation. The dealers in Des Plaines and Glenview have their head up their (you know where) . They changed my view on buying a car. Five stars Bravo
