Update from the Seattle area (WA State)
by smariner on Sat Sep 13 23:14:37 PDT 2008
For the 2008 Odysseys, I got a quote of $3000 under invoice from Bellevue Honda (on the phone); $3500 under invoice from Kirkland Honda – both the quotes were over the phone; so, I’m not sure if that was a gimmick to get me in. Anyone got better deals in the Seattle area? Ideally, I'm looking at getting the LX or EX for $4000 less than the internet-invoice price.

Re: 2007 EXL in Seattle WA Area [infinitedream]
by infinitedream on Mon Nov 26 08:57:39 PST 2007
To Finish the Story for any Seattle area peeps We settled on the color my wife wanted (Ocean Mist) with a local dealership (Kirkland). The base price was $26,453.00 which included destination and accessories already on the van, wheel locks, door edge and fender well 'guard'. The OTD was plus 9.2% tax, and ~$250 for license+title+doc fee. note: As we have kids, we were looking for non-ivory interior, so when I was asking about inventories, I asked them to exclude ivory interior Although I don't think I could classify any of the Seattle area dealers as completely upfront, the Seattle dealership was amongst the best and still had a couple Slate Greens left. Klein was there as well and also had some EXL's left (silver+black). I believe both Seattle and Klein also had about the best prices for Seattle-area accessories (the ones you perhaps wouldn't want to install yourself, see estore.honda.com ). Burian Honda may have been slightly better. I don't know if it's true but two Eastside dealers (Bellevue & Kirkland) told me they don't accept Capitol One financing due to the turn-around time it takes for Capitol One to actually get the $$ to the dealership (note: Bellevue and Kirkland have the same owner). I ended up taking 5.74% from Honda Financing, which was competitive (but did not beat) the Capitol One 5.65% I had (over 48 months, the difference was ~$60). I will likely pay it out much sooner, so I wasn't overly concerned about this, but wanted to mention it for others. My worst experience was with Bellevue and Sims Honda; ironically both Honda 'award' winners :p Bellevue was probably my own fault, as they had the color, and said they would match, but would not give the OTD quote (asked me to bring in the ones I had). Bellevue is the biggest Volume dealer in the area. Sims had an offer on the table, then retracted it... and that's putting it nicely. Thankfully that was all via email, and I never stepped foot in the dealership. My wife is happy, so thanks for the advice DonkeyPunch =)

by hos on Tue Nov 21 02:38:19 PST 2006
hakjoon is correct. 33K includes destination charge of around $650. Tax and lic are added on top of that. Unfortunately city of Bellevue has 9.1 percent sales tax but this year (perhaps its the last year you can do this in WA unless its extended again), you can deduct your sales tax from your Federal income tax. If you don't want to keep every single receipt during the year, the gov. provides an estimate based on the number of people in your family, then you can still add high price items on top of that. Not a bad deal. Also, Honda of Kirkland and Honda of Bellevue are owned by the same people. However I have heard from several people that Bellevue dealer is more flexible than Kirkland and are willing to work with you. I had a good experience there. If you go there look for 'MO'. He is a sales person and a nice guy.
Pilot, buy, lease,,,,, ???
by alanrosenberg on Sat Jun 17 11:13:35 PDT 2006
I’m kind of waffling on the Pilot and over buying or leasing. I was pretty jazzed, decided to get one mid-end of summer, but I drove one Thursday in Kirkland WA and the steering felt kind of twitchy,,, real front wheel drive-ish, not at all like the impression I’d had before,,, it’s most probably something I’d become accustomed to, I do know I probably should get rid of my chevy trailblazer before something else goes wrong,,, I had a 900 repair at 60,000 miles,, now at 66k, the registration is due and within 5k miles I’ll need tires and who knows what else. As to buy / lease, certainly the payments are lower [10-20%] and by 3 or 4 years I always want a new car,,,, I think it may work better for the lease, except I’m told Honda does not lease to businesses,,, which sounds like a line from a salesman wanting a simple sale[?] aw heck, I guess I’m staying home and doing laundry today. I stopped in at Toyota and nothing they had interested me, of course the salesman was quick to insult the pilot and slow to provide any service,, maybe I should just get it and be done with it.
