2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD no NAV or DVD: by sandefur on Fri Jul 13 13:06:08 PDT 2007; I just purchased a 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD (white exterior and camel leather interior) for $27,201 plus $99 doc fee for a total of $27,300 OTD (McAlester, OK). Of course I still have to pay 3.75% of purchase price as Oklahoma excise tax plus $95 for tag and registration. How does this size up with other Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD deals out there?

I got the 2.9% which they said Honda required that I prepay the state tax ( I was an out of state buyer) normally paid at local DMV. I was willing to travel and did not limit my search to any geographical area. Prior to this deal I was hot on Riverisde Honda in McAlester, OK. Both dealerships where great to work with! Noticed Ebay has several EXL and Touring models available at a competive price.

For mommybear, there is a dealer in Mcalester, OK called Riverside Autoplex that will likely do a deal at invoice and bring you the vehicle of choice for a couple hundred dollars. For Charlie, David McDavid in Dallas is the most competitive around and they are the most likely to do invoice, expecially if you go pick it up. For anyone else, just stick to your guns, tell every dealer you can find that you want to buy the vehicle at invoice. If you are serious about buying, you'll get the deal... BTW.. In reference to the questions, EX L RES stands for EX with leather and rear entertainment center. Invoice on this vehicle including dealer destination charges is $27,470.

I did it! I finally bought one!: by jamestren on Fri Oct 24 16:56:18 PDT 2003; Okay, this has been gut-wrenching for me. To buy a preowned or to buy new? To buy Toyota or to buy Honda? What about that new Quest? Do I really need the DVD? Can I afford this silly thing? Is it really worth it for a Minivan?.... Well, I guess I just answered the questions for myself. I just purchased a 2004 EXL w/RES (got black). Total out the door was $27,540. Since this is only $100 over invoice and includes the customary doc fee, I feel pretty good about the deal. Best of all, they are only an hour away, so I don't have to fly to Dallas to get it. I bought it from Riverside Honda in Mcalester, OK. I did all of the dealing over the phone and they were hassle free. I told them the best price I found elsewhere (McDavid Honda in this case), and he met it without flinching. Email me if you are in Oklahoma and are interested in the same deal and I'll pass along the guys names. Both the salesman and manager were great.
