you are right. its hard to get a good deal in NC raleigh area due to one automotive group (L..) monopoly. I have been researching on 2008 pilot since april and finally got it from out of state with $5000 off below invoice and $0 processing fee. In triangle area it was $4000 below invoice plus $398 processing fee(rip off). exl 2wd are not available with most of the dealer but you can get EXL 4WD or SE 2WD/4WD. I can send you more details about dealership etc. if you are ready to make a 5 hour drive. i finalized my price on internet and phone and there was absolutely no surprise when i went there. i was little doubtful about it since it was so simple and clear but the whole process of smooth and i got the car with temp tag and got it registered in NC with out any problem.

Hello, I am interested in any info on recent purchase experiences in NC, specifically the RTP, NC area (Durham, Raleigh) or the Triad, NC area (Winston Salem, Greensboro, Burlington). "Any purchase tips" are much appreciated! I am looking for a 2008 EXL FWD or 4WD, no NAV or RES. Best price so far is $28k TTT. Seems like the dealers in this area aren't willing to budge on price....or is this a good deal? Carsdirect.com told me today quote "Unfortunately, none of my dealers have any 08 Pilot EXL 2wd in stock. Honda stopped production on those vehicles in January so, the inventory has depleted." Thanks!

"Hi I see you said Wilson...is this wilson, nc?....i" Yep, Wilson NC - I live in Roanoke Rapids. Our local dealer only has 3 cars I'd be interested in, an EX-L and two EX-L V6es. Rocky Mount, Wilson, Raleigh, and Durham dealers all have some pretty decent inventory so I'm shopping around quite a bit. It's decision time - looks like I sold my Beetle today so I'll need to get serious about the process now.

Hi I see you said Wilson...is this wilson, nc?....if so you might want to consider leith honda in raleigh.......i bought a 2008 honda accord ex last thursday....$21,892 + $424 for a deck lid spolier I added + 3% tax + tag/ registration ($74) + $398 doc fee for a total OTD price of $23,457.48....I think I might could have gotten them down just a wee bit more ...but...I wanted a specific color with a specific color interior and each lot I went to that color combo was missing.......I was worried I would have to get a 2nd choice color or wait for the 2009s ...your deal might be better ......but i was happy with their process it was quick and painless and they searched to find my color combo and drove it up from fayetteville ,nc......i was in the dealership for about an hour
Bought 08 ODY with EXL RES & NAV

After negotiating with several dealers in the Raleigh area, finally bought the 08 ODY EX-L with DVD and NAV from Bryan honda in Fayettville NC for a OTD price of $30,750 with a honda financing of 0.9% for 36 months (no cash down). Here is the break down: Invoice (with destination): 29,383.53 Tax (3%) : $893.48 Title: $74 Doc: $399 OTD: $30750.01 This forum has been very helpful in negotiating. Thank you!
EX-L w/ RES from Bob Barbour in Greenville, NC

Bought a 2008 EX-L w/ RES tonight. Sent e-mails to 20 dealers in NC (greensboro area, raleigh area, charlotte area, and eastern, nc) and Richmond, VA area on Sunday. Had a good quote from both Leith Honda and Sanford Honda. E-mailed Bob Barbour Honda to see if he would beat it. I walked out the door with $29,793 and the 2.9% rate. Bob Barbour Honda also includes a lifetime powertrain warranty that covers the same components of the 5/60,000 honda powertrain warranty. The price was a $100 less than Leith Honda and about $300 more than Sanford Honda. I felt the extra warranty was worth the extra $300 and I didn't have to make the 90 minute drive to Sanford Honda. e-mail me and I will send you the salesmen's name and e-mail.
