Re: 2007 Si Sedan (no Summer Tires/Navigation) [tfm1973]

You got it for $300 cheaper than I did for what its worth...
Is it worthwhile to buy a wheel and rim warranty?
by mick16 on Tue Jun 19 15:39:03 PDT 2007
I'm picking up my Civic Si Sedan tomorrow. Dealer quoted me a 5 year rim and tire warranty for $299. I live in Michigan, so pot holes are a real threat. What do you guys think? I usually stay away from warranty, but I'm sure even 1 rim will cost me more than the price of the warranty.

Thanks for the reply. That's BS if I can't get the 4.9% interest rate. You'd think Honda would be more inclined to give special financing to promote sales in the Detroit area due to the bias towards buying domestic vehicles in the area.
Decent price for Civic Si Sedan?
by mick16 on Fri Jun 08 15:55:19 PDT 2007
I've been getting Internet Quotes in the Detroit Area for a Honda Civic Si Sedan (no options). I was quoted an out the door price of $22K by two different dealerships in the Detroit metro area. When I back out the taxes, destination, etc. from this price, this works out to be about $20,100 for the car. Decent price or should I try to do better?
contrastive experiences with Rochester, NY Honda dealers
by slrommel on Sun Aug 15 17:56:13 PDT 2004
My wife and I have had 2 recent experiences with Honda dealerships in the Rochester, NY area (one bad, one good) and are writing to share this information with others in this region who are in the market for a Honda. We just had a very disheartening experience with Dick Ide Honda and are writing to advise others in this region to avoid this dealership at all costs. We were in the market for a 2004 Honda Accord EX with leather. We printed out the invoice information from Edmunds and have been keeping up with these forums. On Saturday, we visited Dick Ide Honda in Penfield, NY. They are constantly advertising that they have the best deals/prices in the area. We went in and requested to test drive a 2004 Honda Accord EX with cloth and side curtain airbags (automatic transmission). They had told us over the phone that they had one in stock. They pulled the car up for us, and it was a *manual*, so we said we were only interested in an automatic. They fumbled and after about 10 minutes said that the car had been "mis-listed" on their sheet as being automatic and that they didn't have any automatics in that style in stock. However, they offered to talk with us in terms of price because they would be getting more in in a few days. We asked for them to show us an invoice on that model of car, and the salesperson said that he could NOT show us the invoice!!! We thought this was ridiculous, especially considering that all of the dealerships we had ever dealt with in the past were willing to show the invoice. Dick Ide Honda is very much preying upon unknowledgeable people. We told our salesperson we had invoice information from Edmunds-- to which he responded that customers could look up the invoice numbers themselves online. We believe that our salesperson was the floor manager. He went into the back and returned within 10 minutes, offering us a price a little above invoice. We told him that we were aware of the $500 manufacturer-to-dealer incentive and the holdback, so that we would like to discuss a price below invoice. To this, he responded, "You guys just don't want us to make any money off this car, do you?!!!" and THREW the paper with the quote down on the table. We found this behavior entirely childish and unprofessional. At this point, we left and vowed to never set foot in that dealership again. We would suggest avoiding Dick Ide Honda at all costs. Compared to Dick Ide Honda, other dealers in the Rochester, NY area are much more professional and treat people like actual human beings. In contrast, we had a VERY GOOD experience with John Holtz Honda. We reached a very fair deal on a 2004 Honda Accord EX with leather (we ultimately decided upon leather instead of cloth), below invoice, with John Holtz Honda that same day. We called 2 other Honda dealers in town, and they were not willing to beat Holtz's price. John Holtz Honda was completely professional. We have also had great experience with John Holtz Honda in terms of servicing a Honda that we previously owned. We would highly recommend John Holtz Honda to others.

Holtz tried to screw me back in July...lowball for my Accord started at 5500 (when it was worth ~9k Edmunds/KBB trade in)..and I quit playing with them when the maxed out at 7k...Ontario offered better, but good to know... I see Dick Ide here in Rochester has 9 on the lot (including 2 in the showroom)...something tells me they are gouging and going to have a hard time getting their future allocations soon... Anybody tried CollegeHills Honda in Ohio? They had a $1000 off coupon for a while on Pilots...maybe a shorter drive than MI!
