Re: Documentation Fee Question [gr26]

This is an additional charge that is profit for the dealers. Yes, I've stated I wont pay it, actually walked away from several deals due to the fee. I rarely see these 'new' fees since I get an agreement with everything itemized before stepping foot into a dealership. I have however had these sprung on me and simply state that if they want to list this fee that's fine, just reduce the selling price by an equal amount. I live in CT where doc fees start at $299, but I'm very close to the NY border and have purchased by last 5-6 cars in NY stricly on pricing and low or no doc fees in NY contribute to that. Best story I have with a doc fee, we had a deal for an 09' CRV, is this was added after I was given an itemized offer and went in to buy. I asked for it to be removed. The finance guy stated no. I said refund me my deposit and I'm done. He gets the Sales or General Manager as well as the sales person, This guy comes in and says it's a fee all customers pay...I asked to reduce the selling price of the vehicle by an equal amount. he stated he couldn't do that. I said, you run sales correct? His head nods. I reply, you can do anything you want. Ending this, he asked if I would walk away for $299 and I replied, would you let me walk over $299.....no sounds for about 30 seconds. GM puts his head down and says the price is the price...I say thanks, and refund my deposit and see you later. We now have a 2010...I'm happy and got the deal I wanted
Re: 2009 CRV EX AWD Pricing in Midwest [hp2009]
by mvs1 on Tue Nov 17 16:24:18 PST 2009
The wife and I drove both the 2009 and 2010. We considered an 09' during the C4C. We held off for the restyled front and back. We didn't like the unpainted plastic on the bumpers of the 09', it's less so on the 10'. Bluetooth was added for 2010 as well as a bump in HP to 180. Specific to your question, I drove the new car home and said to my wife it was quieter than the 09' we test drove a few times. I'd try to confirm they added additional sound deadening materials...I actually don't know.
CR-V EXL w/ NAVI purchase in NY/CT area
by mvs1 on Tue Nov 17 16:20:27 PST 2009
We picked up our CR-V yesterday, black on black fully loaded. Paid invoice price of $28,371 including destination + CT sales tax of 6% + $247 for plates, dealer fee, tire fee, etc. Financed through Honda at 2.9% over 60 months. As we were on our way to the dealership to pick up the vehicle I had another local dealer offer invoice + all season mats, wheel locks, mud flaps (about a $175 value). Since we were were pulling in to pick up our car we said thanks but no thanks to the offer. There has to be some dealer money on the 2010, but I couldn't find anything. Once the 2.9% can out they moved quickly off $1000 over invoice to invoice -$200 deals. The above post has an EXL w/NAVI for $26,200...that's a steal for an AWD, grab it! The two dealers were Brewster and New Rochelle Honda in NY
Fatigued Shopper

For what its worth, we surveyed this forum for months. We just missed the heavy June discounts on the 09 models. We debated and finally decided to get a used 07 instead of the new 10. By doing this we saved roughly 10K and got ourselves an excellent looking and driving minivan. We still get the Warrantee (and almost went with the Saccucci Honda Care)...the dealer ship matched their online price. Every dealer in our area (NE) tried to pull crap with us...except for Curry Honda in Chicopee MA. If you are buying in the MA/CT area, consider Curry. Other than updating their really nasty bathrooms, they have pleasant enough folks who seem to be straighter shooters than those in the area.
2010 CR-V 4WD EX-L with Navigation AWD lease
by johnny__rf on Fri Oct 23 08:43:03 PDT 2009
In CT, for a 2010 CR-V 4WD EX-L with Navigation AWD the monthly lease would be $499 (including tax). That sounds like a good price to me. Any comments or feedback?
Honda Fit Sport bought in CT
by wrdgirl on Wed Aug 19 09:59:28 PDT 2009
This is an orange Honda Fit Sport AT: Price: 16740 (approx., can't remember the exact price) Doc fee: 299 (insane CT doc fee) Sales tax: 6% OTD: 18256.78 Other dealers offered me 17400+ for the exact same car, only Schaller Honda of New Britain gave me the lowest offer. But that sort of bothers me...
