Mistake after mistake

by bcash on 11/16/2021

Was in town visiting and had car trouble. Was cheaper to trade it in than it was to fix it. At first, I thought everything was great but after the purchase, I received a call that they "forgot" to add in a service fee which they took care of by adjusting my loan. I then got a call a week later when I return home that I still have to pay $1200 because the title fees were wrong. This ended up being corrected on their end because they looked at the paperwork wrong. Then they sent my title to the wrong DOT office in my home state. after 3 months of calling and searching, I found everything only to find out the dealership did not figure out my taxes correctly and I had to pay an additional $550 in sales tax so I could get my car tags. They were unwilling to help me out at all for their mistakes after 3 1/2 months of dealing with their errors. The absolute worst experience ever dealing with a car. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. If you are in the Duluth area and need a car, run away from this place as fast as you can.

Purchase of New Murano

by Ajit_Patel on 09/17/2017

Purchased a new Moreno yesterday. After intensive research and communicating with several dealers Gwinnett place Nissan gave me good pricing without too much haggling. Buying experience was very friendly and prompt. Sales person Martin, Finance person Dino and Andy Sales manager were friendly, humble and professional. I have purchased 10+ new cars in my lifetime and experience at Gwinnett Nissan was one of the best I had. Hopefully I will have same experience with Service department.

Poor Sales Service

by Lesson101 on 02/06/2017

I purchase a 2016 Nissan Altima on December 18, 2016 after driving for over an hour to look at a 2016 Nissan Maxima which was not even on the lot. The customer service rep. Janae told me she would have it waiting for me to see when my husband and I arrived at the dealership which was a lie. She emailed me and even sent a text to my phone to make sure I was keeping my appointment. I arrived at the dealership which was over an hour from my home for a car that was not even there. Bait and switch is the name of that deal. The dealership looked for that car for hours of my wasted time. Then they came up with the Altima I purchased to appease me. The deal was not funded until December 24, 2016. After having the car one week I realized the back passenger door would not open and I had to take it in for the door assembly to be replaced. Then after a couple of weeks later the car started running hot and I had not made the first payment. I called and spoke to my very kind sales person and he put me in touch with one of the managers, Frank who said he would see what he could do to get me out of the car and he would call me back. Till this day he has not returned my call. I called two days later and spoke to Fabio who gave me his sympathy and said he would call me back as well. Yet there was no call. I drove back to the dealership on Saturday and I spoke to Jack the youngest sales guy there and unfortunately he was very little help and didn't even offer me anything put a bottle of water and how I could pay $100 more for a 2017 Nissan Altima. I don't think so. This just is not the dealership in which you want to spend your hard earned money with. I wish the fiancé department all except for the grumpy old guy from Connecticut were at a better dealership and the awesome sales staff. This dealership needs management training and to revamp completely.

Absolutely Horrible!

by Rida3000 on 09/17/2016

After my 65 year old mother-in-law traveled 4 hours to purchase a car that we called about beforehand, we got there and the car was not working. So that the trip was not wasted, she decided to look at another car. After deciding on that car and sitting in the dealership for 6 hours we were finally out of there with a 2010 Altima. After having the car for a month, my mother-in-law received a letter in the mail saying that her loan was declined. We've been calling for 3 days trying to get Sales and Finance on the phone to help us resolve this situation but we keep getting sent to voicemail boxes that are full and no one will return our calls. My mother-in-law who is 65 years old is very afraid that she is going to lose her car and very upset but no one at Gwinnett Place Nissan seems to care enough to give us a call back. This has been a very horrible experience and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They are very unprofessional with bad business practices and do not value their customers. It's all about the sale and once you're out of the door you can forget about customer service at that point.

My experience at Gwinnett Place Nissan

by john_atlanta on 06/29/2016

I am totally satisfied with my purchasing experience at Gwinnett Place Nissan. My salesman and the rest of his team were very helpful and they worked hard to make my experience an excellent one. They took my broke down jeep off my hands and put me in a very nice 2016 Nissan Altima with great payments. They worked everything out so I could afford a service plan and keep my payments low and in 18 months they will be reduced even more. I have never had a more exciting and excellent experience buying a car anywhere else. I am a life long customer of Gwinnett Place Nissan and anytime I am ready to make a trade or get into another car it will be a Nissan from Gwinnett Place Nissan. I can not say enough to convey how happy and pleased I am with their sales and finance staff and the owner. You worked with me in my time of need and myself and my wife will always purchase our automobiles from you. Thank you all for your hard work and help.

PLEASE RUN FOR THE HILLS

by RUNNNNNNNNN on 06/03/2016

Where do I start....Maybe I can start with how I had to listen to the general manager(Vincent Sumpter) screeming and cursing at his staff...Or should I start with the loud music they played with cursing and degrading lyrics towards women...How about I start with the way the salesman came over with a worksheet full of B.S numbers which I will map out for other people so your aware about how they will attack you.....I do want to give a shout out to the salesman they fired in front of customers....... So I 'll start with the fact that I called in for a vehicle didnt need to know numbers because this dealership has played games before with plenty of people and because the community is small people talk......So all I needed to know is if they had it...Spoke to ebony in their internet dept she was all that was great about this place.....Came in and was attacked from the moment I drove on there lot......So side bar people be prepared to be stopped when you enter on the lot to be asked why are you there...I told the guy I was here for grocery shopping and pulled away.....Then he walked over to my car and waited for me to get out all sad looking..As if he lost his best friend as soon as I got out I said not today and not with you...Walked in and met a different sales guy who I told what I wanted he went and got the car we test drove and went right to the number part...... Now this is where it gets tricky and I am going to map out how they do it so you can expect this.....I will try to diagram how the worksheet will look......... Price.. Discount... Warranty... Gap... Tax... Tag..Fee... So what they do is try to angle in warranty and gap within the first time they show you figures...Its a way for them to make more prophet off you...Also they charge you for some stuff call zactek which they said helps protect your car... The angle is for you to only negotiate the warranty and gap and zactek not the price of the car...The mindset is to keep you off the price...Deny all of the extras and get back onto price with them keep them on their heels....Now they have a system of trying to force you to buy which is after the salesman they send over a a.S.M which is a small version of a manager...Then when he can't get you to move they send over the desk manager...If he can't get you they send over a larger round guy who states he is the general sales manager....You have to pay attention to the setup Of course I did not buy due to the way they tried to get tricky with the pricing as well as the way the dealership general manager yelling at his managers telling them they will all get fired if they don't sell more cars...No customer should ever hear that...My salesman was the one that told me their names and how they operate he also was ok just sad he works there.....I would recommend another dealer Sutherlin is ok I got my car from Nalley Nissan they had the same car but was 2,000.00 less and no issues in their dealership..... Trust me run.......I never put in a review until now...The store is going down and has been for the past couple of years...Gwinnett Place Nissan used to be the place to get a car now its just the place to get a bad deal....Drop the management staff and start from scratch they might have a chance again.

by Go_Nissan on 12/29/2015

Had a fantastic experience with Carl as our salesperson. He got us a great deal on TWO cars - a Maxima for me and a new Rogue for our daughter. We also appreciated Semir in the finance department - AWESOME and fast getting our paperwork done. We were also introduced to Dave in the service department, who took time to assure us we would receive great care from them. Overall, WELL DONE!

Truly Exceptional Customer Service

by atlsnow1 on 09/14/2015

My salesperson (\\\"Jaime Isaza) was very knowledgeable & took the time to explain the features of the car - he also took the time to explain the difference between each line - for instance the Altima S vs the Altima SL. He also had some great facts about Nissan that I was not aware of and gave me an awesome deal!

Stay away from the dealer

by ArupD on 05/07/2015

On March 17th 2015 I went to Gwinnett Place Nissan Duluth GA, for an appointment with Clay Taylor (Salesman). I met him around 4 PM. He seemed like a nice guy and showed us a few SUV's we were looking for. We liked the Nissan Pathfinder S model. I asked for a Red color, leather seat and Rear view camera. Also, I wanted to trade in My 2008 Chevy Uplander (110K). Then they ran my credit and told me I am approved tier1 finance. At that time Sam (one of the Floor Managers) joined us with Clay. He looked at my Trade in Vehicle and appraised it, and offered me $4000.00. I asked for $5000.00. He agreed and we made a deal. Then they asked for a $500.00 deposit and had asked to fill up a credit card authorization form. The Final price will be $25,500.00 (out the door) after trade as per agreement. And he wanted me to take SUV that day. But, I had asked for RED color. Sam said he can give me Red if I bought the SUV Today. I agreed. Then we signed papers and made a deal. Management and I signed the deal and I got a copy of the deal with Clay's permission. Then Clay said he will call me when the SUV is ready. Next day Clay called me and told me that the car will be here on Friday, and on Friday Clay called me again and told me that I can pick up the SUV on Saturday. So after the last Call from Clay, my dad and I went to pick up the SUV on Saturday, March 21st 2015 around 12:15 PM. We were greeted nicely by Clay and Sam, and test drove the SUV. But, at that time the car didn't have leather seats and rear view camera installed. They said it will be done during the weekday. That was fine, and then they started processing the paper work and running my credit again and took the keys of my trade in Van. After about an hour one of the Owner loyalty Managers Mr. Brant came and told me that they are not going to offer me 5K in exchange of my vehicle. He was unacceptably rude to us. He said the VAN has 180K millage. I am not sure he checked the Mileage of my Van. My VAN has only 110 K, which I told SAM on the very 1st day of the Appraisal. I felt so embarrassed in front of my family and kids. It’s like harassment to me that you guys called me to pick up the SUV and then turned down the deal. I walked out of the dealership. I just wanted to inform you all they deceive customers and waste valuable time. I am never going back to that dealership any more after all of this valuable time of mine wasted and the rude salesmen I encountered. Next day I bought an SUV from Atlanta Toyota and the deal was awesome. Buying process was so smooth. I got what I expected for my trade in vehicle. I had to laugh after I read the owner's response. They wanted to call me to discuss this issue, but when I left 2 voice mails to the general manager, Mr. Tom McKnight, and emailed him, he never bothered to respond. Now, they are telling me to call them just to make them look good. Although they have my number and email address, I have already wasted enough time with them.

Great Experience

by dupealoop on 01/11/2015

Great leasing experience on my new 2015 Leaf. Justin, Austin, and Bart were top notch. It was a busy day, and I got taken care of very quickly, I was in and out in less than 2 hours. They have a highly organized and fluid process, not something you always see at a dealership. Highly recommended.

SOLD ME A CAR WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION

by chocolate11 on 11/29/2014

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder from Gwinnett Place Nissan on November 17, 2014. On November 19 we noticed that the car would sputter when you tried to accelerate after placing your foot on the gas. We then took it back to Gwinnett Place Nissan on November 20 and were told that it needed a new transmission! We had just purchased this car less than a week before that. Before I purchased it I asked if there was anything wrong with the car. I asked why the car wasn't certified pre-owned and they stated, just because they did not want to spend the money to certify it. I paid the extra money, which was $1,995.00 for them to certify the SUV. I then paid an additional $1000 for a warranty on all electrical, motor, any other issues. They certified the car and told me nothing was wrong with it. I already had a bad feeling when I was at the car dealership for hours while the certified the SUV. I asked, is there something wrong with the Pathfinder multiple times. Mr. Johnson, the salesman assured me that there was nothing wrong with the Pathfinder, only that it the computers at Nissan were messing up. Every time I would ask if it was taking so long because something was wrong with the car they would tell me, no, the computers were messing up, there's nothing wrong with the car. This was a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with only 24,000 miles on it. And less than a week after purchasing it as a certified pre-owned car, it needed a new transmission. We left it there that Friday and was told it would be ready the following Wednesday. Then we were told it would be ready on Friday. Then after calling on Friday because I had not received a call from Nissan all day, we were told the car SHOULD be ready tomorrow, which is Saturday. I have reported this to Nissan's corporate office because although there are no lemon laws in Georgia, they have to divulge to you if anything is wrong with a car, that's the law. And if they don't tell you that something major is wrong with the car that is in fact wrong with it, they have committed auto fraud. I will be following up with this because I feel that they purposely sold us a bad Pathfinder and lied about it when I asked them repeatedly on the day of purchase if there was anything wrong with the car. They claimed that the transmission problems did not show up on the inspection done to certify the car. How is that possible that something major like a transmission problem does not show up when you certify a car? Especially when you had my car for hours looking at it. Not only would I never buy a car from Gwinnett Place Nissan because I feel like they sell bad cars, I may never buy another Nissan period!

OUT THE DOOR PRICE

by BIGNICRADIO on 11/04/2014

Starting tomorrow my wife and I can't drive our truck because Gwinnett Place Nissan is the only car dealer is the US where you can negotiate an "out the door price" to include tax, title and registration, sign the papers and end up with no title or registration. On top of that, we're STILL waiting on that extra key and remote...not holding our breath. So to all of our friends in the Atlanta area, I would HIGHLY discourage doing any business with Gwinnett Place Nissan.

Nightmare, just repeat nightmare

by ajarnbangkapi on 07/31/2014

Nightmare service experience. I was the dummy, had a very bad experience here 3 years ago when It cost me money to get a quote!!! But, I received an attractive offer (early lease trade-in) they the mail and thought I would follow up. 2.5 hours and could not get them to explain the offer they mailed to me!!! Eventually, the manager that I was supposedly waiting for came to me, and said my car would be ready soon, it was just being cleaned up. What car, I asked? I am trying to get into on your lease turn in promotion. He turned and walked away.

Worst Dealership I have ever seen

by kru15 on 02/27/2014

Like others have complained here; if I could give them -10 in rating then I would. Went to lease 2014 leaf and their lease prices are much higher than south Atlanta dealers. Managers are rude here. Do not deal with Calvin M. he is the rudest manager I have ever met. I gave them a specific price range that I am looking for and I knew they will not give me that but I was expecting a close price point but no they were more than 40$ higher per month then the rest; They were not in a mood of negotiating and as I explained that there are other dealers offering a better price than yours they were not happy and became more arrogant. They keep on dragging their feet with price negotiations; do your homework before u go there, they catch and bait for Un educated customers and will surely rip u off.

This was my 7th or 7 car dealers visited...Donte is the person to ask for!

by pam_mayblum on 10/23/2011

Over the course of 3 arduous days of intensive car shopping, I finally visited Gwinnett Place Nissan. I had not previously considered a Nissan, but I found that I liked the 2011 Rogue and I bought it. Prior to my visit to this dealership, I was convinced that I wanted a Kia Sportage or a Hyundai Tuscon. While I did like those vehicles, I found all of the local Kia Dealers I visited and all but one of the Hyundai Dealers I approached to be downright sleazy. This lead me away from those lines and over to Nissan. I visited Gwinnett Place Nissan first because of the massive inventory I saw on their lot. They were very professional and resptecful of me and of my time. They answered all my questions in a straight forward manner, and when they did not have exactly the Rogue with the options I wanted in stock, they found one and the next day, went to North Carolina and got it for me. I so appreciated my salesman, Donte. He was very helpful and above all willing to listen to what I wanted and most importantly believe it!! How refreshing!! He made no attempt to divert or distract me with his own agenda. He made it his objective to get me the car I wanted and at a price/financing I found acceptable. I have bought many cars in my life, and continue to have to replace them often due to my work. This was truly an exceptional car buying experience for me from the test drive all the way through the closing in F&I. I might add that my purchase took place two weeks ago, and the staff at Gwinnett Place Nissan is still in touch periodically to assure my total satisfaction. This dealership sets a new standard for professionalism in the industry.

It takes too long to get finished, but they are nice and pretty easy to work with. I got 0% through NMAC and it still took 3 hours from the time we decided to buy the car until it was time to take delivery. They need to speed this up. Overall, a pretty good experience.
