Buying a car from a Ford Car Dealer

MD Ford Car Consumer Discussions

Re: FFH [ffhlover] by jeff_h on Sat Jun 06 20:34:10 PDT 2009

I did some online searching and do not mind taking a bit of a drive from here in central VA to save a few hundred bucks. My local dealer first said MSRP, and I then found a dealer in Columbia MD who was willing to go $300 under. Then after some more web surfing I found a dealer in Richmond VA who will go $1,000 under MSRP. I printed their web page out and took it to my local dealer, they agree to match it as I was about to take a drive to Richmond. For anyone near VA, the dealer in Richmond has 15 on the lot, just google "Sheehy Ford Richmond" and you will find their dealership and the FFH models currently in stock. There are 3 guys listed as the internet sales staff, I sent them an email inquiry on price and they were very prompt in getting back to me, so good luck!

Our deal (SEL FWD) by brian_in_md on Tue Aug 12 08:08:14 PDT 2008

We just picked up an 08' Taurus X SEL FWD, with leather, SYNC, SEL Interior Convenience and Power Packages, 50/50 3rd row, and Sirius for $26,400 inc freight - about $2k under invoice. (I would have received an additional $500 off if I had used Ford Credit, but got a better rate elsewhere.) (Dealer was Apple Ford in Columbia, MD. Nice people to deal with, although still a little pushy on all the high-profit dealer add-ons like undercoating, paint protection etc.)

Received 2009 FEH in Maryland by therock515 on Fri Aug 08 07:03:52 PDT 2008

I just took delivery of a 2009 FEH FWD last night (08/07) in Columbia, MD. I had ordered it June 6. Here are my initial impressions. First off, the car rides and looks great. Brakes and handles very well and acceleration is very adequate. When I got in the car, the info center said 440 miles to empty. I am downsizing from a 2003 F-150 and I would barely get 270 miles to a 25 gallon tank. Another point of interest is that I am 6' 3" and have plenty of head and leg room. I found it somewhat hard to keep in electric mode going from a deadstop. Like someone said in earlier posts you will make people behind you very angry if you try and keep it in electric mode. However, that being said almost as soon I started hitting the brakes to come to a stop it went into electric mode and stayed there until I went to go again. It is crazy how quiet it is when it is in electric mode - it literally sounds like the car shuts off totally. The SYNC system is sweet - pairing my phone and ipod was easy and the voice recognition is very accurate. Hope this helps people out a little bit...please feel free to ask any questions.

Confirmation of Delivery by therock515 on Thu Jul 24 17:32:07 PDT 2008

Just an update from the East Coast. My dealer in Columbia, MD called and said my 2009 FWD FEH will be arriving on August 8th. I had ordered it on July 6th. More details to follow.

Just ordered a 2009 FEH in Maryland by therock515 on Sat Jun 07 08:12:00 PDT 2008

I just wanted to post my order info for anyone in the Maryland area. I went to a dealer in Columbia, MD and was quoted an x-plan price of $27,269 for a FWD standard Hybrid with no options. Included in this was a $11 gas, $360 FDAF and a $695 destination charge. I had to give a $500 deposit. Very easy experience, no runaround. I was told the expected delivery will be sometime between September and December. I have read mixed things on whether the FDAF is an allowable charge under the x-plan. Anyone know for sure?
