This was the worst sales experience I have ever had buying a car

After researching new SUV's, I decided on the RDX with the Advanced package. After doing an internet search, I found that Gettel had it. I should have waited as the Fort Myers had one coming in a few weeks. But I didn't. It was the worst new car buying experience I have ever had. Saleswomen that was only interested in me giving her all "10's" on the survey I was going to get. A finance person that had never used the Auto Pen system for doing paperwork. (It took 2 hours and she had nobody to help) To driving out of the lot without a license plate. And a lot of other stuff in between. And then more stuff afterword. I could go on for hours about all the bad stuff about this dealer but it will just stir up the anger in me. I beg of you. Go north, go south, go west. Go anywhere else but here.

Excellent customer service everyone really went above and beyond!

I had been in the market to lease an Acura ILX for a few weeks now and ended up driving all the way from Tampa. I had visited the dealerships in my area and they didn't seem to make any effort to earn my business. However GETTEL ACURA really went above and beyond. From the first phone conversations with their online sales team to their sales team on the floor they made sure I was educated on the vehicle and get the best deal possible. Robert the sales manager was extremely accommodating honest and pleasant to make a deal with. Jamie the business manager exceeded our expectations and really hit it out of the park! I am extremely pleased with my whole experience and believe this is the best Acura dealership in Florida !

LYING SALES MGR--BOGUS FEES

LYING SALES MGR--BEWARE...i was dealing with them for 2 weeks on a car they had for 2 months on the lot..sales mgr called me and said he was sending car to the auction and i had about an hour to decide..this was on friday..i passed on the car...monday the car was still there and they raised the price from $16,300 to $21,999...wth ??? a few days later i was notified car no longer available...a few days after that (tonight) i found it at one of their other dealerships..gettel toyota...price now $19,991...the sales girl jennifer was great..to bad the mgr lied and tried to pressure me not to mention their incredible bogus $900 dealer fee and charge of $335 for e-filing and title transfer...my toyota dealer charges $150 and dealer fee $499....what a ripoff..

Poor Follow through

I went through the web site to inquire about a call and never received a follow up call only an email from Jay the manager asking how I was treated. Emailed Jay back said no one ever contacted me and never heard from Jay. I went to the dealership to inquiry about the car and was told it sold that morning. Asked about another car was told that was in the process of being sold. I called back several days later and was told that car was available. Went through the credit application told them o would be down on Monday to pick up the car but on Sunday I got an email telling me it was sold! With the explaination that company policy doesn't allow vehicles to be held. It was ok to hold it when I asked about it? Now I am searching for my third vehicle and it won't be at Gettel. Not once was I ever told that there was a risk of that vehicle being sold if I didn't come in. What a shameful way to treat people.

Zack is Great!!! Best experience EVER!!!

I'm 51 years old, and of all the vehicles I've bought in my life, this was by far the best experience. We bought a brand new 2016 MDX from Gettel Acura in Sarasota, even though we live North of Tampa. The reason was two fold - best price, and customer service BEFORE we even saw the vehicle. The backstory is that we called local Tampa area dealers. Some didn't even call back! The ones that did could not match the price from Gettel. Zack not only assured us over the phone of what he had available, but drove the vehicle up to Tampa for us to test drive it!!! (All I can say to Tampa Acura dealers is - you losers need to learn a lesson here). To be fair, we were working with a local Ford dealer and considering buying a 2015 Expedition. But to get the same or rather "similar" features that the MDX had, we would have needed to purchase a "limited" model for about 10K more!!! (and beleive it or not, we had the Ford employee "A" plan discount applied as well....it was laughable). Anyway, back to Zack and Gettel. Zack is a really respectful young man who treated us honestly, and went above and beyond to make our whole experience a pleasure. The dealership is a really nice facility, and Robert the finance manager was very easy to work with - we were in and out in about 2 hours. (I have had experiences in the past where I've been at a dealership 5-7 hours - at night - last one to leave the lot....how refreshing to see that Gettel just does what dealers should do - no BS, just great service. Now that I know what to expect from Gettel, I wouldn't blink an eye to drive 200 miles, and you can bet that my next vehicle will be from them. A big THANK YOU to Gettel Acura and their team, but most importantly to Zack - because of your you, it was fun to buy a car again.

Sale of unsafe use car

We recently bought a 2011 Dodge Durango from Gettel Acura of Sarasota as is. After I took the vehicle for a test drive and had no service lights and good car fax report for maintenance. Our sales rep preceded to tell me about the 120 point safety inspection they perform on all there vehicles. We then proceeded with the sale as if they new nothing was wrong with the vehicle. After we had the vehicle for 4 days we noticed that the fog lights blink when we use the right turn signal, and when the fogs light were turned on the right blinker would stay on with a steady light. I then took vehicle to my local mechanic, we then discovered the fog light/ blinker problem is a system of a larger problem. That can cause the vehicle to not start or even worse stall while driving down the road, losing power steering and brakes. On top of the obvious safety issue it cost approx $1200 to repair. I then proceeded to call Gettel Acura to see if there was anything they could do to help us out. And was told that no and we bought the vehicle as is. I then asked to speak to the service manger to inquire about the safety inspection. He then told me the safety inspection was stopped because of a front headlight assembly issue (blinker). And the vehicle was to be sold at auction. This information was new to me, and if I had known of this I would have looked into it further, before I purchased the Durango. I then proceed to ask for a copy of the service records and was told that they will email them to me with the safety inspection. I didn't receive that email, I then call back numerous times trying to talk to the general manager. After two days finally spoke with general manger. I explained the obvious safety issue and that the safety inspection wasn't completed, and that I still wanted the service records and safety inspection report. He proceeded to tell me that I will not be getting the service records or safety inspection. If I had known of the problems before the purchase as they did, I would have reconsidered my purchase. The general manger then told to me there is nothing they will do the help and the problem is mine. It feels to me that Gettel Acura was more interested in a quick sale and had no regards for my family or family's safety. All I wanted is the issue fixed, because I was lead to believe I was sold a vehicle that had a completed safety inspection. But that was not the case. I am very disappointed in how they handled this matter. Very nice and polite while we were buying the Durango but that went right out the window as soon as we walked out the door.

Buyers Beware

I recently purchased a second owed vehicle with 1,300 miles. The dealership would not include a second key fob or floor mats. I tried contacting the sales managers (Gary and Paul) however they had already received my money and weren't concerned with helping me after the sale. This dealership charges a $800 dealer fee which is above average which they will not negotiate on this. They also charge $200 for electronic recording of the title. This dealership uses Achieva Credit Union for their financing so do yourself a favor if you have decent credit and go directly to the credit union. The credit union does not charge Doc stamps and the dealership does. Bottom-line, I will not be purchasing any more vehicles from this dealership.

Well well well how to express the feeling of betrayal and being taken!? They lied from the get go with very slick gimmicks to get me down there with promises of free gas and super discount, very effective marketing team. Once there they made excuses for not honoring these but by then I had drove 400 miles thinking I was getting the best deal. they promised a 2.90% rate but when time came to sign the paperwork it went up to 3.90% although I have a perfect credit score! by then i was too tired to fight after 4 hours into it nice scam! Three days later the car broke down and of course all the promises to take care of anything went right out the window. The dealer made a list of what was wrong but their "expert" insurer said exactly the contrary and wouldn't pay a dime. I was sold on the idea that it came with a warranty and even though I was far away they would honor they written guaranty. I was wrong they lied and got away with it now the only thing I can do is help someone spot these [non-permissible content removed] for what they are, [non-permissible content removed] who will rip you off like they did me.

Excellent Sales Manager Shawn Kennedy

I cannot say enough about Shawn Kennedy, I have purchased my last two Acuras from him and my last Sales Consultant was Bryan Driscoll, they make you feel like they are interested truly in what is best for you, Bryan was very respectful and professional, we drove many vehicles before I made my decision, and I did not feel pressured, and best of all, received a fair deal and will continue to return to Gettel Acura for years to come. Their service department is the best, and Jack is the same way, always professional, always prompt, and I've never had such consistent and prompt service elsewhere. No mechanical problems, by the way, only service, excellent product!! Thank you Gettel~
