Buying a car from a Dodge Car Dealer
You need to take your business elsewhere and then drive up to the salesperson and show them the sale the WOULD HAVE HAD if they had honored the quote...but maybe it is still better that you did not buy from them, because their service dept will be a reflection of the remainder of the dealership, which cannot be good...and, if you bought it there, but went elsewhere for service, yes, another dealer will service it, but you get placed at the "bottom of the list" when it comes to the little courtesies, because you bought it somewhere else...it is a natural instinct, dealers will take better care of those from whom they made some profit on the sale, because you may buy there again...so, it is not always in your best interest to get the cheapest price from a rotten dealer, because you may pay for it in other small ways over the years when you go elsewhere for service and warranty work... in other words, the cheapest selling price from from the worst dealer may not be the best price in the long run of your ownership experience... Hello all. I am a new Dodge owner. About 3 weeks ago I bought a 2004 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 SLT with the 5.7L hemi engine. It has the 20 inch chrome wheels and the electronic AWD and tow package. I bought the truck from CarMax after having it shipped from Knoxville, TN to Norcross, GA. The price was $23,995 and it had 10,000 miles on it. I traded in my 96 Nissan 4x4 King Cab with 89,000 miles, which they gave me $5,100 for it (purchase price after trade was $18,895). I thought this was a fair deal considering the great condition the Dodge was in. Questions: It has an aftermarket (I think) dual exhaust system that has a great sound but it is a little on the loud side. Would moving the exhaust outlets from the sides to the rear make the noise a little quieter in the cab? Also, I am now thinking about upgrading to a cold air intake system (such as K&N). What other brands are recommended? Does this void the manufacturers warranty? Does this actually improve performance and most importantly gas mileage over the original equipment? I am also thinking of eventually adding a roll-top bed cover Thanks for your suggestions and comments. Thanks, Anthony
What model and options? You shouldn't be paying much more than invoice on a new one. You can get a $3500 rebate on a new one plus another $1000 if you finance through Chrysler. A demo is essentially 'used' so it'd better be less than that.
I bought my last two vans from Hayes Chrysler in Lawrenceville, GA (Gwinnett County, northeast metro Atlanta) and had two very good experiences. In 2001, we bought a new base Chrysler Voyager in dark green with the upgraded V6, power win/locks/mirr, CD and dark windows. Their selling price was about $600 higher than the Norcross, GA Carmax, but Hayes gave us $2500 more for our trade, a 1997 Hyundai Sonata GLS with V6. Very courteous and pleasant to work with. In April of this year, we wanted an update. I did not want a T&C as the size of the Voyager was perfect for the type of driving we do here in Atlanta. Plus, we only take one big trip a year, so the added space would just be wasted the other 51 weeks of the year. So, taking advantage of the great offers through Chrysler Financial, we went back to Hayes and traded for a white 2003 Chrysler Voyager LX with the quad captain's chairs and split folding rear bench, ABS, keyless and roof rack--all things my 2001 did not have. Our payment actually went down even though the van's price tag was higher! Again, great service and would definitely recommend them. My mother-in-law was in the market for something new last year and she also bought from Hayes due to our good experience.
