Very Dishonest Dealership!

by princess38 on 07/01/2016

I WAS a loyal customer having leased 2 cars from Martin Kia. I always left after buying a car feeling worked over and almost dirty from the experience. My third lease was the WORST! Told me to get a fully loaded 2016 Forte EX would either cost me $487/month to LEASE!?!?!! What?!! I am a return customer and have good credit and this is the appreciation shown me. :( Doug Kane was so unfeeling as he explained me that to get the payment I wanted that I would have to pay $6500 down! He kept saying "I'm all in", "trust me", and "we can't do any better, what can you do"... I left feeling like I would never be able to lease a new car ever again and was even brought to tears. Even getting a basic model with no frills would have cost me $300 per month! FOR A LEASE! So I went to Holly KIA in Felton De. There they treated me with respect. Never once did I feel they were working me over AND I got my car for $301 per month! And only put down $3500! Plus they paid off my old lease and gave me the 15000 miles per year as I wanted! Best of all, I got my fully loaded Forte EX just as I wanted! If you are buying a KIA, trust me, it's worth checking out Holly KIA in Felton De! They care about the customer and treat you fairly!

add ons

Deal was set including extended warranty. Manager tried to change the price and sneak it in without telling us. My wife caught it in the mound of paperwork we were signing.

Beware of the post-negotiation fees!

by jlgate on 07/12/2013

My sales experience was going well until after we negotiated a sales price. 5 things happened that disappointed me. 1. The car I wanted was not on the lot so they told me what the price was. Once the vehicle was delivered to my house and I saw the window sticker I noticed the price they quoted me was $350 higher than the sticker price. They haven't explained this one yet. 2. After negotiating a price, the dealer added a $279 Administrative fee. This was never mentioned during negotiations. 3. There was supposed to be a $2,000 cash back offer. During negotiations I was going to take that into account on my offer. The sales guy told me I only qualified for $1,000. Turns out I actually did qualify for the $2,000 which was reflected on the final paperwork, however I was unable to account for that during negotiations. 4. The sales guy showed me my bottom line price and my monthly payments (including taxes and tags). I learned while signing the contract that the monthly payment included the Tax and Tags but the bottom line price did not. Seems a little confusing to me. 5. While walking out after signing the contract the sales guy says..."you'll get a survey and it's important to give us ratings of all 10's. If you do that I'll give you two free tanks of gas." It's no wonder this dealership is rated #1...all the customers are bribed into giving stellar reviews. Not me. I gave an honet review and was contacted by the sales manager. To date she has done nothing to address my issues and concerns and has no explanation for why the original price quoted was higher than the window sticker price. She claims she called and left a voicemail but there is no evidence of missed calls or messages. I understand a buyer has to take responsibility for the typical dealer decpetion but if you read this review and still want to buy from this dealer please take my experience and learn from it and watch out or they'll get you too.

QUOTE ENTIRELY TOO HIGH

by shevan21 on 06/24/2012

I was at the dealership for over 2 hours and it took over an hour to get there. It should not take that long to give a customer a quote. Did not purchase the car because I would have been paying $13,000 in interests, that's like paying for another car. The salesmanager Patti said a salesman will be with me right away. (Shane) was nice, they waited on me right away. The financing manager said it was my credit score. If you are going to keep a customer there that long, you should feed them dinner. I was the last one to leave. I will try other dealers, don't like playing games when it comes to my money!

Not terribly competent

by cera00 on 06/01/2009

I purchased here for convenience sake but I don't think I would do so in the future. The first salesperson we dealt with was competent but nothing special. He knew the basics on the vehicle and was willing to show us several different models. They have some nice practices like extended test drives and letting you take the car home for an evening. However, when it came time to actually do the purchase the process went downhill quickly. They were unable to do much in terms of pricing and were cagey about showing the invoice. Our first salesperson was unavailable so we were assigned another agent. He wound up making us an offer that was taken back and increased by his manager. But then the really annoying part started after we agreed to make the purchase. They took forever to fill out the paperwork painstakingly by hand, and, it turns out, incorrectly. They could not make us a favorable financing deal so we went through our bank. They did the paperwork wrong and the bank ended up canceling the check. The second time the handwriting was so unclear that the bank could not read the VIN. We still haven't gotten the bank check done correctly. Then there are little annoying things like we were told that we could use our iPod but, in fact, we need to purchase a $40 adapter. I love my Kia Rondo but this dealer is a [violative content deleted].
