SCAMMERS

by Loso1117 on 02/10/2018

Absolutely terrible. I was sold a complete lemon. I bought a used ford f 150 that began falling apart after only 3 weeks. I have them the benefit of the doubt after the ac compressor went wonky three weeks after the purchase. A month and a half later the truck simply wouldn’t turn on. Doug, the sales manager, pretty much told me to screw myself. I shouldn’t have had to spend $1200 before three months of owning the truck.. they are very shady. He stopped answering since he can see number and has never returned my calls like he said he would. Feel naive for trusting them to have integrity. I’ve never felt so deceived in my life. They all seem really nice initially all so you can buy. STAY AWAY!!

Good people bad product.

by NFrotch on 11/08/2017

Overall I had a positive experience with the staff at Girard Ford however I feel as if the lack of attention to detail resulting in the issues I faced out weighed the positives. The service department was very prompt in servicing my Ford F-150 and the service rep that assisted me, Raricca, was very informative. I would recommend her to even the least vehicle savvy person and I will ask for her by name if I return again. The same day I took my truck in I looked into replacing my wives car with an SUV. The sales team was very courteous to include the salesman I dealt with, the finance manager, and the GM. However I feel as if the problem that I encountered may run deeper than the staff at this one branch. The vehicle I bought was supposedly safe for resale and warrantied as such. However upon arriving home the DAY we bought the car I noticed an odd noise from under the hood and found the coolant reservoir leaking from a large crack in the bottom. Something this obvious should have been noticed very early by a novice mechanic let alone an experienced one. Upon further investigation I learned the vehicle was sold to me with an open recall that could have resulted in a possible engine fire due to a loss of coolant. To me this is incredibly disturbing as the vehicle was to be for my wife and newborn baby. I feel that in selling this vehicle to me without disclosing this information myself and my family have been put in an unsafe condition. As a dealership that is owned by the Antonino Auto Group which spans several other dealerships in the area I would expect them to be thorough in there vehicle inspections in order to maintain a reputable reputation. I hope this review is helpful to the other buyers out there and if you do decide to purchase a vehicle from Girard Ford or any other dealership owned by the Antonino Auto Group ensure you do very thorough research on the vehicle you purchase.

no problem

by DaleJamie on 04/24/2017

Found a great price on a used Ford Transit at Girard Ford online. It was a bit of a drive for us but we ended up buying it. Luis was good to work with. Joey got us a great rate on the loan and upgraded the trailer hitch they installed as part of the deal. They also Fed-Exed the plates to us.They sent a lug key that was missing so that was good after-sale followup. The only issue was it only came with one key and they charged us $165 for a 2nd one (laser cut, microchipped, etc). They were far enough away that I went to a more local dealer to have it programmed for add'l $36. They said that was the dealer price but I found a local lock shop that said they would sell me one cut but unprogrammed for $100. Nothing to lose sleep over but a good live-and-learn experience.

Classic low-ball sales tactice.

by darrylh1 on 09/07/2015

I was warned about the deceptive business practices of this dealer before I went there, but I felt I had enough experience to avoid all of the low-ball-price games used by scam dealers. Little did I know how clever they would be in their deceptive sales process. I asked them for a quote on a new car and asked for a price that reflected NO Financing. I asked for an “Out-the-door” price which reputable sales experts recommend as a tactic to remove all hidden costs. I asked for a written quote reflecting the total and final sale price assuming no financing. I asked to see the pricing worksheet used by the sales person and his sales manager to quote me the price, and they declined to show it to me because it would reveal their sales process. So I left with a written quote instead. I called the next day to tell them they got the sale. An hour later, the salesman called to tell me there was a “misunderstanding” between him and his manager, and the sales price was now $3,000 higher. I spoke to the sales manager to try and understand how the misunderstanding occurred, and he explained that he assumed a $3,000 deposit would be made for financing, and that the “out-the-door” price assumed the deposit was paid. The manager blamed the sales person for not reviewing the worksheet with me, and the salesperson blamed the manger for the misunderstanding. A brilliant low-ball-price scam. Neither Girard employee was man enough to admit they scammed me, and neither was man enough to accept responsibility. Each blamed the other. They didn’t want me to see the sales worksheet because it would reveal the 3,000 deposit deception and reveal their scam. Avoid this dealer at all costs.

Poor experience

by cjsherman456 on 12/22/2014

Purchased a used Scion TC from them the week before thanksgiving with an agreement to have certain things fixed. Was told by the salesman it would be ready in a week fully detailed and a full tank of gas. Neither the detail nor full tank of gas were done. Called back a week later and got the run around. Picked up the car that week knowing I needid to bring it back the following week for the remainder of the work. Left it for a week to only have the windshield replaced. Still needed the fender and door fixed as well as emissions.Check engine light came on two days after picking it up. Dropped it off again for another week. Only the door was fixed and the light magically shut off. Was told to take it and drive it till the light came on. Two days later dropped it off with the light on. Two weeks later called back to see how it is coming and the fender still isn't done. Poor customer service. Have expressed several times that I'm dissatisfied with my experience to only get an apology.

Great, friendly staff

by michaelwjck on 02/13/2014

Since my purchase of a 2012 Focus in August that year, I drive the 50 minutes to Girard Ford for all my maintenance. The staff has been great since day 1. Miquel was my salesman and he helped keep me occupied through what turned out to be a very long day. The finance staff came through and I drove my new car home that day. Recently I had some work that had to be done, and while my car was there for quite some time (5 weeks), Jen in service did a great job communicating with me and keeping me informed of the status of the work. And finally when I purchased my car, my interest rate was somewhat high, the finance staff told me what to do, and to come back in a year or so and refinance. Well, I did just that, and Craig worked very hard for me and eventually got me a very low rate which would save me $3000 in interest over the life of the loan. So kudo's to all! Thanks!

Wasted a day

by sliu52 on 01/26/2014

Had a bad experience with these guys. I called on the phone for a particular model and booked a test drive a few days in advance. On the day that I drove there from Boston (1.5 hours), I called to check and a salesman, Peter, told me that the car would be available. However, when I arrived, I was told by the salesman that the car wasn't there yet and I could wait at the lounge (actually, a rather comfortable area with coffee and TV). I waited for an hour and then I went out for lunch. Then I came back. By this time, I had been in town for 3 hours. That's when they told me that the owner had taken the vehicle on an emergency trip out of town! The worst part of this is that they had my phone number and could have called me at any time so I wouldn't have to wait anymore! Folks, I would not recommend buying from them. Maybe they never actually had the car there or didn't intend to sell it. Maybe they just wanted to get me in the store so I could buy something else. I don't know what the real story behind giving me the runaround, but they cost me a half of a day and a tank of gas for nothing. Unprofessional and poor reflection on integrity.

Bought a new HD truck

by mday02 on 12/30/2013

I worked with the sales staff to find the vehicle that I wanted. The only thing I could find that was annoying was the hour long wait for the truck to be washed by Moe and Curley at the Nissan dealership next door. Other than that everything went smoothly.

Do not judge a book by it's cover

by toyjeep on 11/27/2013

After researching several dealers, I decided on Girard Ford to purchase a Jeep Wrangler as a"toy" for plowing my driveway and banging around in in nice weather. I felt welcomed at Girard and was treated nicely. On the day of purchase the 'check engine" light was on and I was assured it was checked and would go off. It never did. Also on the first foggy night with rain I turned on the fog lights and rear wiper to find neither worked. This is where my problems began. after 7 weeks of phone calls and no resolution I am left with having to fix these. I only asked that Girard honor the initial purchase agreement that all systems were safety checked and properly working before I drove away with my new purchase. BTW, I payed cash for the vehicle. To date the dealership has not honored their commitment to satisfying the customer. Isn't it the honorable and right thing to do to fix these for me???

Beware of Girard

by ttooley on 04/03/2009

We purchased a used car from Girard Ford. They said they would clean the black seeds off of it.We purchased it and brought it back to have it cleaned up as instructed. First trip back they replaced the front brakes so they sounded like finger nails on a chalkboard and said they did not have time to get to cleaning the black seeds off the car. They insisted the brakes were a safety thing and had to be done due to thier concern. The screeching should stop after they wore in. Six hundred miles later they still refused to do anything to fix them and I had new pads put on at another place. Second trip back the car was dropped off and they removed the seeds with sand paper! Leaving scratches all over the car. They could do nothing about the brakes.Bring it back again. Third trip back to buff out the scratches from were the seeds were. They replaced the rear end because they had a wreaked one that looked better.Claimed they knew nothing of the scratches and they would need the car for another week after having it for nine days. We could keep the loaner car until it was done. They wanted it to be nice for us and the salesman no longer worked there. Made a Fourth trip back on day twelve due to insurance on loaner was expired. Noticed car still not getting any thing done to it. Given more run around by sales manager asked for my keys back and took the car to a reputable dealer. The fun and games played by Girard reminded me of a shell game. With the car always being the loser. I had new tires and rims put on it along with an alignment before the rear end replacement. I asked the other two shops that had worked or looked at it. Why Girard would replace a rear end on that front wheel drive car and they had no clue either. Due to the replacement of the rear end the rear struts making sounds at every bump on the New England roads. I had to pay for the new struts and another alignment at another shop. Every trip back to Girard resulted in more damage done to the Vehicle. Talked to the service manager about the rear end and now the strut problems and was told he showed no record of it being done. Paper work was lost and records misplaced along with knowledge of what was going on. Moral of my experience is BEWARE OF GIRARD! Hope this saves some one else from the shell game. Todd
