I bought a 2013 VW CC Sport from them. I am from Binghamton, NY & this car was located at their showroom in Hartford, CT. I saw this cars listing online and immediately liked it but wanted to test drive the vehicle before putting down my money. I had arranged for my own finance so needed the purchase order for this vehicle. They agreed to give me the purchase order if I put a refundable deposit of $500 on my credit card. I agreed to that. So I put my paper work in order and drove down with a friend on Saturday to their showroom. The condition of the vehicle was good just like I had imagined from the pictures. I took a test drive. The gentleman who was with us on the deal was knowledgeable & helpful. I noticed that above the front passenger headliner there was some black smear. I pointed out this to the salesman & he took care of it immediately. Also the engine bay & the underside of the vehicle looked dirty as if it was not washed so they gave the car a complete rewash before I left. I was unclear on how I would be able to register a CT dealer plate vehicle in NY State. I was told that I would be getting NY plates which I did. Only place where the dealer needs to improve is communication. I had no clue what was going on with my registration & upon calling/emailing I just got the answer that A third party company is taking care of it. This is my first car in this country and it should not be assumed by dealer that everyone knows the process of buying a car over here. It is nice to maintain some transparency during paper work as I am paying for that service as well. Now I got the plates from DMW NY however I never got the title for my car. Upon asking the dealer, they say they mailed the title directly to my finance company and its normal. Heres the thing, my friend got his car a week later mine, went through the same finance company as mine and he got his title from the dealer (different car dealer). He just made sure he added the finance company name as a lien holder on his cars title & mailed a copy for their record.

The service was excellent I received all the help I needed and Thomas the car salesmen did a great job making sure that I understood everything. I do not have the best credit and he was able to get me into a NEW car ! Hats off to Volkswagen of Hartford!!!!

I purchased an EOS this summer. Sales team was highly responsive, knowledgeable, and very engaging. However, I feel that the "Certification process" is not that dependable. My car came with too many issues and were not resolved to my satisfaction, even after spending many day and trips to their service center.

The sales team was great. I was quickly greeted by the sales manager since all the associates were busy at the time I had arrived. The staff was knowledgeable about what they were selling and were willing to printout and pull up information as requested. I was able to get a great deal on the 2015 GTI that I purchased and the dealer has been great to accommodate any need within their powers.

she was a great saleswoman was warm and welcoming right when I arrived told me everything I needed to know about the car I was buying and also gave me great customer serves the color of the car wasn't there so she gave me the option of shipping the color that I wanted and I did and it came fast overall she is a great saleswomen recommend going to her.

I bought a used 2012 Passat TDI and couldn't be happier. I found it online and traveled from NY because of the great price. I love the car and couldn't belive how accommodating the staff and specifically my salesperson, Tom Gromley, was at Volkswagon of Hartford. I was happy with what they offered me for my trade and sealed the deal that day.

VW of Hartford was a great, non-pressure dealership to buy a car from. Most of the negotiation happened through email, and they also gave us a great deal on our trade in. Amanda G. was very helpful in explaining all of the different features of the new car. She did a great job setting everything up ahead of time in terms of paperwork to keep the actual time spent in the dealership signing for the car to a minimum. She also was instrumental in getting us the best deal possible, if you are in the market for a VW, you should go see her! Highly recommend!

A Nice Change

A week ago my wife and I decided to look into trading in our leased vehicle to take advantage of the holiday bargains. Because we have leased several cars over the years from different dealerships, we knew what we heading into. After spending hours at a high-pressure neighboring dealership the day before, we decided to look at a different dealership. Starting online with inquiries, we made an appointment to look at the new 2015 Volkswagons. As soon as we entered the sales lot, we were taken aback and were so appreciative of the low-key, friendly atmosphere at VW Volkswagen of Hartford. Everyone in the salesroom at some point during our initial visit went out of their way to speak with us and make suggestions on the type of car that would fit our needs. Amanda Gland, our sales associate, was exceptional. From the start, through email and then in person, she answered all of our questions without the high-pressure sales drama we had come to expect. We were able to work out a deal quickly and drove away in a new 2015 Jetta a few days later. The experience was a refreshing reminder that looking at and leasing new cars can actually be a pleasant experience.

Problems early, problems later

Multiple bad experiences here. Shopping for my vehicle, I was told by the sales person that there was a blue-tooth hands-free phone system installed in the Certified Passat I purchased. This was the most important "must have" feature for me as I explained up front. It wasn't until the vehicle was delivered that I found out the system didn't actually exist in my car- just the buttons on the steering wheel for future compatibility. Even though the Sales Rep owned his (very large, but honest) mistake, the GM would not approve installing the system post-sale. Instead, I had to spend a significant amount of time fighting this battle. Ultimately, I went through VW Corporate Customer Care who very quickly ensured that the dealership took care of this. It would have been a much better experience if they did the right thing on their own instead of being told what to do by the VW Corp. Unfortunately, its dealerships like this that give the industry a bad name. This GM needs to be more concerned about retaining customers and following through on promises he makes, rather than trying to trick people into thinking they're getting good customer service and then pull a bait and switch.

I Love My First Car

I recently bought my first car here and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. My sales representative, Jackie, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even though I already had my eyes set on a car they were sure to highlight even more features and services that solidified my decision even more. Overall, the experience was great and I really felt everyone there really wanted to help me make a good choice for my first car. So far I haven't had any issues, but I know I'll be in good hands should anything arise.

VW of Hartford runs a tight ship. I drove off in my 2015 GTI only a few hours after I pulled onto the lot to look at it. The sales staff knew what they were talking about, and could answer all of my questions with confidence. Ask for John! Highly Recommended!

They've always provided me with the most competitive valuations of my trade-ins, and the ensuing negotiations are swift, reasonable, and honest. A Great First Experience

After having driven my first car (selected for me at the age of 16) for 200,000 miles, it was time for me to get something new. Volkswagen of Hartford, and Amanda G in particular, made the experience both painless and productive. I was given a great price on my 2014 Passat Wolfsburg, and the dealership was great about taking care of alot of the tedium that I had been dreading about purchasing a new vehicle. The entire team was informative and encouraging without being pushy, which (along with the price) really sold it for me. I will return here for future purchases.

This dealer is over 45 minutes away from me so most of my communication was done via email. My sales agent, Stephen C, was very responsive, professional, and went above and beyond to earn my business. I was given an excellent estimate on my trade, sight unseen given the distance, which left me with no question of where I wanted to do business. I honestly felt they wanted me to be happy, no pressure at all. The service received throughout the entire process and even any questions I have had afterwards has been exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them and it will definitely be my first stop next time I am in the market. Thanks to all at VW of Hartford.

Just bought a new Golf 2014 at Volkswagen of Harford. I traded in my old car. Was a really good deal. The purchase was easy and fast. John C, the sales person, made the difference. He is very nice and friendly, not the usual sales guy, who just wants to make an easy and fast deal where nothing else counts but selling a car. He brings it to a personal level, but still in a professional way. Thanks to John! I would definitely buy a car there again!
