Buying a car from a Chrysler Car Dealer
Hi Car Man! I'm also in the market for a 2011 Chrysler 200 Touring with V6. I am in New Jersey. The MSRP on the car I've built on the Chrysler website is 24,085 incl. destination. It also indicates a "2011 Northeast Customer Cash Allowance 32CB5" of -$2,500, which brings the price down to $21,585. I'm looking for either 24 or 36 mo. lease with $0 down. Is it realistic to go below $300/month including tax? (NJ tax is 7%). Thanks a lot!
Finally, both dealers claim that their invoice amount is approximately $600.00 more than the Edmunds invoice amount. Is this correct? I am located in central New Jersey Go to the Chrysler website and click on the Build My Own tab. Configure a vehicle exactly like what the dealer is offering and email me the details, including the MSRP. If you include central NJ zip code I will tell you what the Friends price would be for each vehicle. It is around 1% below invoice before any rebates or other incentives. Rebates vary by region. Some people have posted that they've bought for less than the Friends discount price by using methods such as a fax attack. Anyway, you'll have something to go on if you know the Friends discount price, whether you have a code or not.
Ok. So you've got one dealer at $1k over invoice and one dealer at $800 under invoice (then incentives deducted after that). I think it is a pretty easy choice. If you really want to deal with dealer A, then just tell them they have to do better. Say you've got an offer of $800 under invoice but it is on a vehicle that is not equipped exactly as you want, however you will take the deal if dealer A can't come close to matching it. Also make sure dealer B isn't going to change his/her tune when you walk in the door. How far away from Jersey are you? Maybe it would be worth an extra $500 lease incentive to come down here??
hmmmm... something seems amiss. I'm not running all the numbers here, but let's look at the bulk of it. At 52% residual and $32k selling price, you are paying just $11,252 in depreciation over 39 months. That's $288.51/mo. I find it tough to believe that fees, tax, and title are jacking that up +$232/mo. Let's say aquisition is $595. Add to that paperwork and DMV ... let's go crazy and say your total fees, etc comes to about $1200. So now you are financing $12,500 over 39 months. That's $320.50. Add in your tax (I don't know what yours is, but mine in jersey is now 7%) and you are at $342.95 per month. You mean to tell me they are charging you $180 in interest per month??
i made the mistake of leasing the 300 touring. this is what i could afford. i am a 21 yr old in nj w/ no credit. i have a 3 yr lease 12000 mile/yr. i put 2500 down w/ 1000 cash back. i am paying 344/month. i wish i didnt lease it but from doing research w/ other dealerships they said the price was impossible. i had to jump on it. i want to beef it up a lil bit but time will come.
