Apparently Recession not affecting Malibu Prices
by bwia on Sun Jan 18 09:09:28 PST 2009
I've been perusing the newspapers in the Boston area and instead of Malibu prices falling they appear to be rising or at best remaining stable. What gives? I suppose now that GM is receiving the bailout money they can afford to prop up dealers. For some strange reason these dealers are defying the fundamental tenets of economics---i.e. prices fall in response to slowing demand. But not at my local Chevy dealerships. Since they are unwilling to slash prices I would have to assume that they are getting part of the bailout money. Shouldn't we all be participating in the windfall or does that money only benefit a few (as in GM dealerships). That ain't right!

In the Boston area I see a couple dealers advertising at $2,000 below invoice on the LS. But invoice to them includes advertising.

Was this brand new or was it a demonstrator? Wow, that is a phenomenal price, sort of makes me feel like we were raped. We paid $19,610 (MSRP $20,225) in Boston for the LS but we added after-market leather for an additional $1,300. Good luck with your ride. Nice car only positive comments from all who've seen the car. It's like a driving bill board for GM.
Massachusetts Tahoe Lease
by mdeuce on Tue May 01 07:54:10 PDT 2007
I was just offered the following lease from a dealership in the Boston area. I think it's a fair offer but any feedback would be appreciated. Also, if I can wait a few months is there any benefit to ordering a 2008 instead? 2WD 3LT MSRP = $45,605 Selling Price = $41,700 MA Sales Tax = 5% 48 mo. lease, 12k miles/yr 55% residual and 6.9% With no cap cost reduction and all fees paid out-of-pocket, roughly $1,400, they are asking for $576/mo. Good deal??

Are those lease rates the same across the board?
by dubbsy01 on Fri Nov 24 22:44:10 PST 2006
I am looking to lease an 07 Tahoe lt3 in Boston Ma (sales tax 5%). Is 60% residual at 7.5% the same anywhere in the US? is there anywhere I can go on the web to stick these numbers in along with an asking price and calculate a monthly payment on a lease? or do I have deal with pushy salesmen?
