Sales Staff lie to sell vehicles

by Dezertdawg on 01/20/2018

Just received a call from Walt, the salesman that sold us our 2017 Cherokee in July. He said that he had noticed we have not used the service department and wanted to know why. He seamed to be real surprised when I told him that we would never use the service department, and we would never buy another vehicle from Victorville Motors. I had to actually remind him why we were still upset. When we purchased our Cherokee, we made it clear that we wanted dual air. We test drove a 4 cyl and a 6 cyl and decided on the V6 Latitude. We didn't like the grey one that we test drove because it didn't have dual air. Walt found a white V6 Latitude with dual air. My fault, we didn't test drive the vehicle, we took him for his word. We purchased the white V6 Latitude and while we were waiting for financing, Walt came to show us the vehicle. I asked him to show me how the dual air worked because I didn't see it. Walt told me he would go over everything in detail before we left the lot with our new car. Well, 30 minutes later we sign the paperwork and get the keys and Walt takes us to the car and crawls in the rear seat. I again ask Walt to show me the dual air. Walt immediately states that the vehicle doesn't have dual air. OMG, that was why we wanted that particular Cherokee. I got out of the vehicle and went inside to the sales manager and told him what Walt just told me. The sales manager was also aware that we wanted dual air. We were very upset that we were lied to. The sales manager and Walt had a brief discussion and we were offfered a used 2015 Cherokee Limited for the same price as the brand new Cherokee Latitude. Really, we don't think so, just give us what we were told we were purchasing, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR? Since they were not able to give us dual air, They gave us 3 free oil changes. Seriously, oil changes for dual air. Then the salesman calling us asking why we haven't used the service department. Victorville Motors, do you want to make this right? We'll give you a second chance.......put dual air in our Cherokee like we were told it had when we purchased it. Ask Walt about this, he said he remembered when I started explaining.

Read before you buy.

I purchased a vehicle from Victorville Motors the vehicle was fully loaded with sound system and TVs in the council's And1 TV above. It was a 2007 Dodge diesel I paid 40000 for this vehicle even though it was valued on Blue Book price for much less than this I paid the price due to the fact that I believed that the extras in the vehicle were worth it. Once I receive the vehicle a few days later the vehicle had mechanical issues I quickly took back the vehicle and told them that I needed the issues fixed within these issues also had issues with the televisions in the council's and the main one above which wouldn't even come down. The mechanical issues were fixed right away. But after Chasing the sales manager for weeks they chose not to fix the audio system and even tried to state that they believe that it worked even though they saw the proof and on the paperwork stated that the DVD players did not work when I brought it in for the mechanical issues 2 days after I purchased the vehicle. I urge people not to go here to buy your vehicle it is my opinion that I could have gotten a better vehicle for less money that worked completely.

It's nice to know that Victorville Motor is all about getting their money and not at all concerned with customer satisfaction. Bought a used Durango from them and took it in multiple times for electronic issues and and they said they had it fixed. Now here I am less than 5,000 miles on it and the AC hisses and doesn't work, the vehicle can't tell if the keys are in it to start it, leaking coolant and it's making and awful grinding/knocking sound when it's running. Had it for about 5 months and they tell me I should've bought and extended warranty. This isn't the place to buy a used vehicle, seems to me like the get them barely running long enough so that you can't say they'really a lemon... Don't get robbed by [non-permissible content removed], they don't stand behind their product.

if only I knew

I should have read the previous message on this dealer, it would had saved me a lot of headaches. Here is my story: I went to the dealership and decided to buy the brand new Dodge Gran Caravan, yes the trade in offer sucked and I should had walked away at the time but never the less I went ahead and purchased the vehicle. One of the main reasons i bought the vehicle was becasue the dual entertainment system and the Sirius satelite TV (a most if you have small children) got the vehicle on a Friday, but it was untill Sunday that I decided to play with the TV and set it up. Guess what No satelite TV was installed in the vehicle. I called the salesman back the next day he was a perplexed as I was but no help other than "I have to talk to the manager on this issue" After numerous calls mainly by me within a 2 month period they finally agreed to pay to get the system installed once it was available "after market" although i volunteered to bring the vehicle back and get another that had the features that was offered to begin with 5 days after purchase. it took 9 month from the day I bought the vehicle to get the equipment installed because it was not available until then. And by the way I was the one that had to find the equipment and tell them how to order it because they are not going to go out of there way to look for it. In those 9 month I was promised that they will give something in the forms of gift card for my troubles immediately after the equipment got installed and luckly for me I did not heald my breath. Bottom line another typical dealer nightmare. Be wary if you intend to visit this dealership, test drive and go buy it somewhere else.

How honest are car dealers?

by greatape on 08/02/2007

We've been looking around for quite a while at several dealerships , and have never been told this one . We start to talk numbers, so it went something like this ., We have a trade in , and this what we were gonna use as moneys down, . You take the price of the car that you are looking at , add the tax and license fees, and then add the owed amount on the trade in , and if your lucky , you can subtract whatever rebates that thier are offering at the time , and then here's the kicker you subtract the amount of what they are WILLING to pay ,on your trade in, so we went in prepared as far as what the kelly bluebook would offer, so we throw out a ball park figure , and then they hit us with a VERY BIG shock , . They only offered us not EVEN half of what kelley bluebook would offer, they were gonna give us what they would pay for the vehicle at thier auctions that they go to..... Is that a bunch of CRAP or what ??????, That was the first time ever told that one . so you gotta ask yourself , just how good are all the rebates and insentives they try to intise you with. And we all know when they tell you , when using a trade in for money down, they tell you that garbage about how thier gonna eat it big ,knowing the whole time that thier gonna get more for what they want to give you. So after they shoot you down they have the gall to keep calling you and bugging you to get you to come in just to hear the same in.....
