Tustin Mazda is Tops!

by nicolerosewear on 06/04/2013

Buying a car should always be as fun and easy as it was with the Tustin Mazda team of Jim F. & friends. From test drive to driving off the lot in my new car, the experience was awesome. If you have ever looked at a Mazda and that you might want to drive one, please visit Jim at Tustin Mazda. You won’t be disappointed, and in fact you will feel as though you have a whole new circle of friends. I love my new car, but I loved the experience even more.

A unique car-buying experience

by richrd1 on 05/26/2013

Never knew buying a car could actually be fun! Jim F. is not only knowledgeable, patient, and worked us a GREAT DEAL on a new CX-5, but he entertained us with his quick wit all through the process. If you enjoy buying cars, you will find that Jim will enhance the experience. If you dread the thought of going to a car dealership, Jim is also your guy - you will feel comfortable with him and he will forever change your feeling about how easy and transparent the car-buying process can be.

Explained and answered all my questions very well!

by sounddeveloper on 05/11/2013

Rossi was my sales person. I was just Window shopping for a new Mazda and Rossi had helped me with my questions. He had explained all the specs in all the cars I had interest in and was not pushy. He had great customer service skills and knew what he was talking about on what car was best suited for myself. Usually, I would feel pressured by a lot of sales people in the past, but Rossi had made me feel different about Mazda in Tustin. Thanks again Rossi and I will make sure to buy my Mazda here once I am ready and will recommend all my friends and relatives to buy from you! Have a great day!

Mazda Dealership

by smmazda2012 on 05/03/2013

I was looking for a small car that was fun and easy to drive. My dad and I went to so many dealerships, but the moment I walked into the Mazda dealership I knew I would get my car from here. My dad and I talked to Sean M. and he told us everything about the type of car I was looking for. On January 31, 2011, I leased my Mazda 3 hatchback. It was fully loaded and it had everything that I wanted. About a year later, My dad took my couin, uncle and aunt to Mazda and they spoke with Sean. They were sold on Mazda. My cousin leased Mazda 3 sedan, my uncle leased Mazda 6, and my aunt leased Mazda 3 hatchback. Mazda is a best place to start when it comes to cars. No words can describe how thankful I am to Mazda and especially to Sean.

Unprofessional Salesman

by OCGIASN on 03/15/2013

I went to Tustin Mazda on 3/9 with the intent off purchasing a 2013 Mazda CX9 Grand Touring with the Rear Entertainment Package. I told the salesman from the beginning that I wanted this car in Silver. Nothing more. Nothing less. After test driving the car, we started to talk price. He asked me what amount I had in mind. I made a reasonable offer, and I was told that was an "aggressive offer," but would be considered if I purchased that day. I had been offered a slightly better deal by two dealers outside of OC so I felt this was more than reasonable. After some back and forth with his manager, I was told we had struck a deal at my original asking price. We SHOOK HANDS on the price, and I was asked to leave a $500 refundable deposit while they obtained the vehicle as one was not on the lot. AFTER shaking on the price, he came back and said there was a misunderstanding. He now quoted a price nearly 2000 dollars more than we shook hands on. Needlessly to say, I stood up and walked out of the dealer. I went to another dealer by traveling a bit further, and quickly and easily got my asking price the next day. Don't go to this dealer.

Excellent experience

by gomazda on 03/08/2013

We leased a 2014 CX-5 from Tustin Mazda; our saleman was Jim F. The process throughout was without pressure or any rancor. Jim was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. Most of the price discussion was conducted over the telephone, and when the time came to close the deal, he fulfilled every promise. He even came in on his day off to fit our schedule to complete the transaction. I feel the deal was fair to all, and probably one of the easiest new car purchases I have ever made.

Avoid these people

by kkate125 on 10/08/2011

I went to Phillips Mazda after going to several local dealerships including Ford and Mazda of Orange and Tustin Mazda. At Ford and Mazda of Orange, the sales force including a salesman named Ray and a sales manager named Richard were [violative content deleted]. All I wanted was the $199 per month Mazda3 lease. Neither Orange nor Tustin was able to help me. Ford and Mazda of Orange wanted to lease me the car for $319 per month for 36 months and told me that I did not qualify for the lower payment. (I spent over 3 hours at Ford of Orange) and another 90 minutes at Tustin Mazda where I also would not qualify for the $199 payment yet I would qualify for $278 plus tax. My credit score is 720. So anyway, when I arrived at Phillips Mazda, I was a little upset. I was greeted by a salesman named Mark Walker; he asked me how he could assist me. I told him about the $199 per month lease on the Mazda3. Mr. Walker pointed out several different cars and asked, “Which colors do you like the best?” He explained that the $199 did not include tax, that it was a 48 month lease at 12,000 miles per year. I would need under $500 to take the car home. We drove the Silver one. After less than 30 minutes at Phillips Mazda, Mark Walker told me that the finance Manager “Vic” was ready to do the DMV paperwork. When the paperwork was done, my car was ready and I left the dealership in less than an hour in my new Mazda3. I am delighted with my new car, I am telling all of my friends about Ford and Mazda of Orange and Tustin Mazda as well as my Great Experience at Phillips Mazda!

Best Experience EVER!

by ssuss on 09/02/2011

Jim and his team are wonderful! I never thought I would sing the praises of a car dealership but they totally changed my mind. Jim helped us apply online, he gave us a quote for the car and financing over the phone and it was all true when we went to the dealership to sign the docs. Fast service and completely transparent! After this experience we didn't care that we had to drive 45 minutes to buy from Tustin Maza, they made it all worth it!

Fantastic, Smooth Experience

by danny71 on 06/30/2011

We bought the CX-7 i Touring from Jim. From beginning to end it was the easiest and most pleasant car buying experience. Of course we test drove and new exactly what we wanted. The negotiating on the phone was no pressure and we ended up with a great price. Jim was very accomodating in letting us do basically everything through email. In the end we were at the dealer for about an hour which included Jim going over the whole car. We met the owner John as well. Just a a bunch of good guys.

Highly recommended. :)

by omichan on 05/30/2011

I worked with Ozzy, Mike, and Lori on getting the 2011 Mazda 2 Touring, and I have to say that Ozzy was on top of everything. He was very friendly, and very accommodating. I ended up with an extremely generous price for my beat-up trade in, a fair price on the new car, and a stellar APR rate. No complaints- Ozzy kept me updated on when my car would arrive (They needed to grab it from another dealership...no extra charge) and I'm happy I went with a Mazda. :) Zoom zoom!

How to buy a car under invoice - on the internet!!!

by cabolissa on 03/18/2011

Jimmy was fantastic! I was shopping for a CUV and had "anonymously" driven at least 5 different models over the course of 2 weeks. I politely told the salespeople that I wasn't the decision maker and they pretty much let me go. I tried the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Nissan Rogue,VW Tiguan and the Mazda CX-7. I'm a penny pinching single mom and didn't want to get taken to the cleaners by an auto dealer. Luckily, I'd watched my dad (an extreme car nut) wheel and deal with the best of them over the years, and learned a thing or two. I was prepared to drive up to 75 miles for a good deal, and I let the dealers know this. I used the internet to my advantage. I said I'd be the quickest sale to the best deal. I created a feeding frenzy and soon internet/fleet managers all around OC and Riverside counties were fighting for my business! I offered invoice price (out the door), and then had them pound out the details and do the back and forth. 10% of the dealers never responded. About 60% of the salespeople wanted me to come in before negotiating, but I held firm. I said I had already test driven the car, knew what options I wanted (using the online tools provided by each manufacturer), but wouldn't be buying in person. I have an energetic 3 year old who doesn't appreciate the art of negotiation and won't stand for hours in a dealership, if you know what I mean. I'd need the deal, fully approved (financed, not pre-approved) and ready to go before I'd step foot in the dealership. And 30% of the dealers understood my seriousness and we began an email relationship. Anyone that wouldn't come down to invoice within 3 emails was crossed off my list. I still had about 6 dealerships working the deal. I narrowed that down to 4 when we were talking about financing terms. I don't have spotless credit (somewhere in the high 600's), so interest rate was key for me. The lower, the more options I could add to my new car. I never went above invoice, and that includes tax/registration/fees included. I know the dealers don't pay invoice for their cars, and with incentives and hold backs, they make good money selling at invoice. However, when you add in the tax/license/fees, they're really not making much of a profit. The sale is really only for their volume bonus. Some salespeople won't bother with it, but others will. My final 3 dealers were Frank at Tustin Hyundai, Jimmy at Tustin Mazda, and Elisa at Temecula Mazda. Hyundai couldn't beat the 0% interest rate at Mazda, so that was the ultimate choice. I let Jimmy know it was between him and Temecula Mazda, and he threw in lifetime car washes and complimentary service club membership with a free oil change. We first corresponded on Thursday around 4pm. We did all the negotiating/financing over email (application, scanned him all my info: license, pay stubs, etc) on Friday, and I had my appointment to take delivery on Saturday. It was a quick deal. My Saturday appointment was very fast, all I had to do was fill out the papers, sign the contracts, learn about my new car, and I was out of there in just over an hour! My 15 year old was with my son in their awesome kids room, complete with toys and a flat screen TV! Couldn't have been easier. They even synced the bluetooth on my blackberry for me! What a great experience! I will do ALL my servicing there, and will buy my next car from them too. This is the best way to buy a car in my opinion! [violative content deleted]

Jimmy is great

by mikmoto on 10/08/2010

I just bought a 2010 mazda3 hatchback from Jimmy and he made the whole process simple and painless. I called him and told him what I wanted. I followed that up with an email. He even got me the exact car I wanted in red from another dealership and in 2 days I was down in Tustin signing the papers. I talked to another 10 dealers and none of them were willing to get me the red and Jimmy got me the best price with the 0% financing available at the time. I hate buying cars and it was refreshing to work with someone who was straight up, willing to get me what I wanted, and able to get me in and out of the dealership without wasting my time. Not to mention, he's a nice guy.

A+ service

by spooledup7 on 08/06/2010

I have purchased and leased several Mazdas as well as other cars and Tustin Mazda is by far on a different planet. They employee a small army of sales and administrative people and each one was very kind and helpful. My sales guy Jim and his teammate Ozzy worked over three days to get me into the right car. I'm very happy with the deal and more importantly the car. Once it wa all wrapped up (9:30 pm) and I was moving my stuff out of my car the Finance officer "Big Mike" came out and had a smoke with me. Not that smoking is good for you, but it was a nice jester and left me with a good feeling about the dealership and its staff. Jim made sure I had something to eat and drink and more while I waited for the data entry to happen. If you are looking for a pre-owned or new Mazda I highly suggest giving Tustin Mazda a shot.

Awesome dealership

by ifcb605 on 07/30/2010

I bought my car, an '06 MX-5 Miata, new from Tustin Mazda at their old location. (They have relocated to a larger place a couple doors down.) My buying experience was great; I got a fair deal, and I met the owner John Patterson, who saw a crease on the passenger door that must have happened during shipping, got me a rental car, and had my new car repaired in a few days. I had my oil changed here once--the service department was great too--and then I moved from Orange County to Los Angeles County. I had all sorts of problems at other dealerships I have visited in Los Angeles County: difficulty getting oil changes done without an appointment (I'd make one every time if I could but I can't), a loose latch replaced with a new but scratched latch, service writers who fail to listen to me attentively the first time and thereby cost me more time and hassle when I have to make multiple trips for the same problem, etc. (One of these Mazda dealerships closed, and the other was absorbed into a sister dealership.) After all this, I've realized that whom you deal with really is important. I don't want to be just a number to a dealership, and I no longer see a dealership as just a dealership. I now happily make the longish drive down to Tustin Mazda for service, and I have no problem at all recommending John Patterson to my friends and neighbors, telling them, "Yes, Tustin Mazda is that good." While I was down there the last time, I was asked to post on this site my kudos for their solid work. I'm only too happy to do so. I never realized how much these guys give to their customers and their community until I was wandering around the store and saw how much money they've raised for Red Cross and other charities. (They're trying to raise $1 million by 2014, and apparently my car purchase in '06 threw some money in that pot. Cool.)

The Worst [violative content deleted]

by spaceman210 on 09/26/2008

I asked for a MX-5 Miata test drive on a used car after making it clear I had no idea if I wanted to buy that car. The salesman drove me 3 blocks while he peppered me with irrelevant questions, and when I refused to answer, he asked "Do you hate me, sir?" I said, "No, I don't hate you." Then we switched seats, and he guided me right back to the dealership. He did not want me to drive the car for more than about 4 blocks. When he asked me what I thought, I said, "That was NO test drive!"

Positive Lease Experience

by investigator1 on 09/04/2008

I negotiated my deal over the phone with Tustin Mazda after dealing with difficult sales people in Los Angeles. I was treated with courtesy and was able to settle on a fair and reasonable lease number. There were no surprises, and the sales person delivered the car to LA.
